For those of you who haven't heard yet today (Feb 1st) the space shuttle Columbia broke up over Texas while coming in to land at Cape Canavral Fla. killing all 7 astronauts, including Israli's first astronaut.

Let all of our hearts and thoughts go out to the friends and family of those involved.

The United States of America has now lost a total of 17 brave men and women to the harsh reality of space travel, but we have never lost a man or woman outside of our world's atmosphere.

I just hope that this doesn't discourage interest in space flight and hopefully the government will stop cutting back funding for NASA and give them some money back for improvements.

We need to remember them always, not as accident casualties but as pioneers, intelligent people willing to take risks to make life better for us here.

All astronauts deserve a huge salute from America; both those who've lived and those who've died in the line of duty.
