The Comic Book Draft Episode III: Revenge of the Villains -- Congrats to Shadow_of_Durron!

I don't know about the speed of Captain Atom being all that. Banshee is listed as being able to move at the speed of sound, and here is a scan showing that Captain Atom has to really push himself to outrun a bomb blast....

Yeah, but that can be chalked up to the standard inconsistency all characters seem to face at one point or another in reagrds to their powers.

I could (if the site were still up) show a few scans of him approaching the speed of light. He was somehow teleported into the middle of nowhere in outer space, and, in another example of inconsistency, he couldn't breathe in outer space. Holding his breath the entire time, he figured out which direction he needed to go in and raced back to Earth. He drew from the Quantum Field and kept pushing himself faster and faster and made it back before he died out there.

Pretty cool scene, actually.

EDIT: Never said it was blowout. That was one scenario. There are others, methinks.

 

I wonder if we will get a vote out of BEN in the finals at all? With only 3 matches left after this we are over 1/2 way done and he hasn't posted even one judgement yet.

 

I've been busy. College stuff.

Anyways, I don't see nay way for the trump to really win this in the end. Good fight, yes, but not quite enough.

As for Hourman, this isn't even close and is a total waste of a prep but oh well. And I found a scan for Hourman, even unprepared he can do this....

Yep, unfortunately I could not force you into a teams match. That would have made for a most interesting conclusion to this draft.

This is a good match, would be VERY close if Kilowog were also prepared, but alas, without prep time, Hourman completely takes this without question.

Even though I already knew it, it is still sad.

 

Yeah. Nimrod is one tough customer. He's able to process what Shulkie is and what she can do faster than she can recognize him, simply because of what he is. And unlike Shulkie he has several ways of combating Jen. She has to either hope to hit him with projectiles she finds or get in close. And getting in close will be easier said than done. In the end, Shulkie will be on the defensive almost immediately and I don't see her getting out of that defense.

Just thinking about changes, do we really need any? I think everything went really smooth, and for the most part the characters are very well placed in regards to regular and power list picks.

Also, I would like to put my name in for judge of the next draft. GMing is fun, but so is judging in its own way.

The changes I am thinking of will mainly revolve around who is on the list, and who is on the power list.

Ok, let's discuss the next draft. I have 5 issues to discuss that I'd like to get ironed out before we move on to the fourth installment

1) The Commish

I'd like to return as commish, but if you guys would prefer someone else, I'd understand. Just let me know ... voice concerns privately and publicly

2) The Draft List

Who is on the list? Who is a power list? Who do we remove? Who do we add? Who gets promoted to Power List, who gets demoted from Power List?

I have some suggestions for these, and I'd like to hear from anyone else on what they'd like to see done with the list. I don't think there's anyone who needs removed. All things considered, I don't think there was an unbeatable character in this draft, nor a character that can take out good teams by himself. That said, the list always needs some tweaking, and I'm open, very much, to suggestions.

I'd like to suggest Blink (Exiles) and Domino be added to the list. We have Deadpool and other mercenaries. And Domino is just as good, plus her mutant ability gives her an edge but it could be considered too much of a Deus Ex Machina. Blink should be on here simply because she's shown that she is well enough able to hold her own. And her teleportation is a great deal more advanced and in control over someone like the blue elf(Nightcrawler).
