What's this All-Star Edition?

 

Spider-Man for the Power List!

 

I would certainly like to do an All-Star edition.

Basically, GM is by invite only. And probably limited to 8 GMs. We'll expand rosters quite a bit, drop the power list, and create a definitive reference draft for all future n00bs to see how it's done.

 

How about Judges are by invitation only as well?

 

Well, I thought that would go without saying

Fair enough. I'd like to think I could find 11 very, very good Comic Book Draft vets to GM/Judge. Should make for a fast paced draft, with good teams all around, good arguments, and just a great overall draft.

 

Once again, this is only about five days away from being eligible to start. Any objections to doing an All-Star Draft?

If there are no objections, I'll start sending out GM invites tomorrow.

 

I have no objections. But we still need to revise the draft list as well. I'll look into posting that later today.

 

Who is running the party this time?

 

I believe I'll be putting the commish hat back on this time. Definitely if we do an All-Star Draft. and probably if we do a regular comic book draft.

I also move that we now separate Kyle from the Ion entity and change Ion to "Ion (Sodam Yat)" and make "Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner)".

 

I guess after seeing him against Superman-Prime Yat is ok to use. Though I still don't know how you would rate him as far as GLs go. He's supposed to be the most powerful, but who else has he fought?

 

You kinda have to use Jedi draft logic with the GLs. Yat has POWER...but so little skill when compared to the vets. He's still a novice in many ways. By all rights, a fully realized Ion would've taken Prime most likely. But Yat is far from that. And he now has the weakness of having to keep his actual power ring running constant shields to keep the lead poisoning at bay.

 

I can safely say that I have never heard of anyone on BaSSiL addition list there. *waits to be bashed* What are they from?

I'm very skeptical with any Ion entity on there. Extremely. ::looks at the rest::

Yup, here come some suggestions for removals from the draft, started with the PL:

Baron Mordo-Who actually knows what he can do?
Despero- Similar, no one knows his actual strength or durability levels, or if he has resistance to magic or even his TP strength
Hourman- Yeah...
Ion- I dun like it. Just too much power
Maestro-We know he's stronger than classic Hulk. Similar to Despero we know nothing else.
Onslaught- Talk to me Durron. I stand by stronger than Galactus. Or at least has feats better, writing makes it difficult to judge. But too strong for here.
Phoenix- Iono, that scares me. She's good enough as Marvel Girl.
Takion-Yeah...
Vulcan- He's not as good as Gladiator apparently, but just how powerful is he? Iono.

Dr. Strange-I still say we can limit him. He doesn't even use that world-ending power in normal fights. But better to get rid of him than to have this debate again.

Temugin-He's not on the PL but I remembered him. No one knows how good his healing is, or many of his limits. So let's get rid of him for now.

 

The Emporor Vulcan mini is answering a lot of that, and from what I have seen he is > than Vulcan.

We were using the Rachel Summers version of Phoenix, not the Jean Grey version...so she fits rather well on the PL IMHO.

PS: Gotta keep Temugin.

Anyways, eight invites out for GMs in the next Comic Book Draft. If any of them decline, I'll send out more. If they all accept, we have our eight-GM field. One of them has already accepted.

BTW, next draft:

No Powerlist
Locations yes/no?

What size teams do we want (total/start/prep)? With only 8 GMs, we could easily expand teams to a large number and not make the draft too long.

 

Uh... Definitely a yes on locations. And yeah I'd say let's go ahead and have more than 10 on a team.
