Yoda seems to have changed before our very eyes in the Star Wars trilogy... One minute he is a boring, stiff little muppet, the next he is a shaak kicking warrior!

Has the Yoda changed THAT much throughout the Star Wars movies in the looks department?

Look at TPM and AOTC Yoda... that is a huge jump! What do you think? Or is it just age?

    Your thoughts!

I think he looks the youngest in AOTC

I didn't like the TPM Yoda puppet...I thought it was extremely UN-Yoda like. Very disappointed, was I..

Yes, in The Phantom Menace Yoda looks rather strange...

His heads looks like a rectangle and he looks really muscular. Then in AOTC he is round...

Do you think the AOTC design of Yoda fits with the ESB and ROTJ designs?

I don't know... he has less hair in ROTJ, which makes his head shape different

I think they did a great job of combining both Yodas in AOTC. IMO, the TPM Yoda was redesigned a little bit too much. But like I said, Rob Coleman and his boys made the absolue perfect mix of both for AOTC.

So which Yoda design do you think is the more "ultimate" ? The classic Old Trilogy or the Great new look of the Prequel Trilogy?

I really didn't like the TPM puppet, he was fine in AOTC - more "Yoda-like".
He looked the same in ESB and ROTJ

Face it, could anybody change that much in 10 years, but not at all in the next 20 years?

Perhaps we can come up with something to fit the changing Yoda...

I attribute it to his aging before our eyes. I think that's a plausable argument.

Everything would be perfect if TPM Yoda could be tweaked. When you're already +/- 850 years old, 30 years shouldn't make you look like a vibrant, young teenager like Yoda did in TPM.

I actually think he looked older in TPM.... more lines and wrinkles. ;)

I'd like to know what happened to the ESB Yoda puppet! What did it disintegrate in its crate after 1980 or what? Did moths eat it? Come on! That was the best Yoda so far! (Aside from the CG Yoda in AOTC, of course..) The TPM guy was TOO puppet-like. ESB and ROTJ didn't have that feel.

Maybe between 850 and 860 is the puberty period in his race?

I think we have to keep in mind that some people get scrawny in old age while some get pudgy.

Look at TPM Yoda. He is rather gaunt-- for Yoda, anyway. But, his face gets a little more full each time we see him. Yoda must be one of those pudgy oldies rather than a scrwny oldie. Don't confuse TPM Yoda's gaunt face for increased age effect.

But, hey, let's face it. Did anyone think the TPM yoda was better than TOS?

Yeah, the TPM Yoda did look kinda weird. I thought AotC would be worse, since it was computer animated, but it was pretty good.
What did happen to that puppet?

To me, the TPM Yoda looks like he's had a few too many adult beverages. It's all in the eyes, for me. If those eyes were different, I don't think the TPM Yoda would look as thoroughly freaky as he does.

I like the ESB Yoda the best, next to AOTC. The TPM Yoda looks different from the other ones, his head is more circular.

Good point, I was trying to figure out the reason Yoda looked strange to me in TPM but I think you have nailed it!

Those eyes look glassy... not alive... like the other Yoda variants do!
