Usually, my drabbles get posted to my thread over in NSWFF, but since this is my first postable Star Wars drabble in more than four years, new thread! This is another "shuffle" drabble, this time inspired by "Soft Sounds" from the Peter Gunn soundtrack.

Jaxxon sat up and peered around the darkened cabin. "Amaiza," he whispered, "do you hear what I hear?"

She turned over and muttered, "Nobody hears what you do with those ears. Sometimes, I'm not even sure you really hear it."

He hopped down from the bunk and stared past her; thick yellow smoke was billowing in under the door. "Next you'll be saying I ain't seeing that, either."

She finally opened her eyes. "Whoa!" She leaped toward the door and stuffed sheets under it. "You're right. I was wrong to doubt your ears."

"Could my ears have that in writing?"

Young Anakin stood quietly as his master spoke to the tiny holographic image. "Master Yoda, we have compiled our report."

"We're sending it to you now," Anakin added, "as an attachment to this-"

"Forbidden to the Jedi, attachments are!" Yoda screamed. He continued yelling, but Obi-Wan lowered the volume on the transmitter.

"I'm sorry," Anakin said. "I thought the rule was about a different kind of attachments."

Obi-Wan nodded. "It is. This is Master Yoda's idea of a joke, one he does every single time anyone ever mentions message attachments."

Already, Yoda was laughing. "Keep a straight face, I cannot!"

Thanks. I wrote this one back in December. I can't imagine what might've inspired it. :p

Around the Jedi Temple, stunned silence filled the corridors. Some of the younglings wept, but nobody had any words of comfort to provide them. He had been a hero to everyone, a being they all looked up to - not literally, of course - and admired. Suddenly, all that was gone, and everyone wondered the same thing: how long? Had their entire lives been lies?

Master Yoda had tested positive for banned substances.

"Needed just a small boost to the midichlorians, I did!" he complained as he was escorted away. "When nine hundred years you reach, see if you do not, hmm?"

Anakin spent the better part of the morning sifting through the shuttle's smoldering wreckage for anything that might be worth salvaging. So far, he'd rescued a handful of nuts and bolts. He sighed, conceding that he and his master might be stuck on this backwater for a while.

The planet's sole star was high in the sky when Obi-Wan finally returned. "Have you learned anything, master?" Anakin asked him. "What is this planet called?"

"Patience, young one. I have not discovered this yet, but I do know that the nearest settlement is called Sheboygan."

Anakin laughed. "You're making that up."

I came up with this after an evening of TOR.

At her master's instruction, the young padawan reached out to the Force. She could feel it strongly roiling around her. No, she realized, it was doing so around the decision she must make. She could feel it breaking against the two choices, one becoming steeped in the Light Side, the other in the Dark. She staggered back.

"You can feel it, can't you?"

"Yes, master," she said, "but I don't know why."

He explained, "Knowing is not always necessary. Sometimes you must simply trust the Force."

"That it would lead to the Dark Side to have ice in my drink?"

The explosions barely rattled the ancient structure of the Sith Academy, but Darth Bandon and the other Lords weren't reliant on the physical sensations to know exactly what was happening so far below.

"Lord Bandon!" The overseer trembled as he raced into the office. "Lord Bandon, the acolytes are rebelling!"

With a flash of anger, Bandon reached out to the Dark Side and threw the man to the ground. "Do it again! Correctly, this time."

The man brushed himself off and left. A moment later, he returned. "Lord Bandon, the acolytes are revolting!"

Bandon grinned. "So what else is new?"

    Title: The Moff Squabble
    Fandom: Star Wars

Moff Hanlae sat back in his chair and put his feet up. "It may surprise you to hear, young man, that we in the higher echelons of the Empire didn't always get along."

"It doesn't surprise me at all, sir."

"Take that fool Tarkin, for instance," the Moff said. "Insufferable man, even before that Death Star business. And what he did to Alderaan, utterly unforgivable! Then the Rebels blew him up before I had a chance."

He leaned close. "I had a summer home on Alderaan, you know. Can you imagine what Tarkin's little stunt did to my insurance rates?"
