I made a photo album+scrapbook thing out of a de-assembled children's boardbook and some craft tissue paper. It turned out pretty cute, though not as nice I would have liked, but it was my first time. It was all a big experiment. I saw a book on it at the library and tried to make it work. :p
I also glued the front and back covers together so it makes a star shape instead of a book.

The hardest part was finding boardbooks at the thrift store that I wouldn't mind "de-assembling." It was so hard!

a few pages from the finished product:

Hmmm... this isn't becoming Yvette's Crafty Page, right? :p

Anyways, I knitted an experimental dewback. He is a prototype that I am not 100% happy with (especially the tail. I re-did it twice and still not happy with it!) but he is still cute! He also doubles as a goanna when I show him to non-Star Wars fans (I just take off his saddle. :p ). :D

Disguised as a goanna with Mike:

I'm fine with it becoming as much; it makes the page well-crafted, adorable, and cuddly. <3

I can't give a more specific compliment because my heart's too busy going, "awwww!" :p

I built this window. This picture kinda sucks though cuz you don't get the full effect of seeing the light coming through it.

    Awww thanks Zas!! I try. :) [:D]

And I am glad you like him, Jay! He ended up with all sorts of unintentional personality. :D

Ohhh awesome!! I never have had the patience for stain-glass. How difficult was that?

The Dewback is awesome. Needs to be life-size though so you can ride it.

I took apart another baby board book and made it an album. This one was an anniversary gift. I took photocopies of old letters and painted them to match some paper I bought and made that the background for pictures of Mike and me.

    excerpts:

    [image=http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y178/jediyvette/020-3.jpg]

It turned out pretty nice but took forever and drove me crazy. More than once I completely tore out pages. [face_frustrated]
And yes, my desk is a mess. :p

Yvette, can I reach into your brain and take some of these ideas? (And can I borrow some of your creativity?!!)

I love the album, and of course, the knitting... My Yoda still sits on my dresser. :)

block, that window is gorgeous. I'll bet you could sell your creations, for sure.

Wow, completely awesome, I love the look of it. I am sure when you are old you can bring it out together.

Not a project post, but a rant post this time.

I am knitting a stocking cap for my trip to New Zealand and mucked up. First I dropped a stitch at the very beginning and couldn't find it to fix so I tore it apart. It was annoying but I just started so it wasn't too big of a deal. But then I had an epic fail. I twisted something at the beginning and didn't notice it until a fourth of the way through. And I can't figure out how to fix it. So... just tore the freaking thing apart. Again. Stupid hat. [face_frustrated]

    [:D] You'll get it one eventually. [:D]

I wish I could say the same about my scarf. I haven't done anything to it in months. :(

Finished my hat! It turned out pretty okay considering it was my first attempt. :D

It was such a pain that I loving named it '[TOS VIOLATION] Hat.' :)

    The other one.

The South Island is much nicer, unless you like cities.

I did a bit of experimenting and made a prototype of a Chewie bag. It looks like a cross between a wookiee and a small, yappy dog but I think it is still cute. :)
