That is about how it happened. He was SOOO stubborn about being a monkey I finally caved in. :p
And I am glad lil ewok enjoyed his field trip! Do the kitties want their own? :)

    And awesome trunk! :D

I am currently sketching out a Balrog pattern. Chances are he will look like another monkey gremlin but I'll give it a try. :)

If you've talked to me on the boards you know I'm not really the holiday type, I realize this may not exactly be the sort of "craft" this thread normally goes for, but I thought I'd ask. I've been really toying with the idea of doing the Halloween thing and dressing up as Jesus.

If you've talked to me on the forums you also know I'm completely incompetent at making things with my hands, so here's what I need advice making, a reasonably large cross that's light enough to carry around for a few hours and a Jesus-robe. Thanks in advance. :)

upping this because i believe more people should read it and also because i don't want to forget.

i love crafting all sorts of stuff. i do a lot of origami and have recently started embroidery again. i really enjoy making rugs (latch hook stuff) but i'm always miffed when i see the patterns. winnie the pooh forever. gah!

i'm very impressed with people's stuff here and i'll have to point my crochet-happy friend to the R2 woolly hat!

I was just thinking about you, crafty thread!

I finished the puppets I am donating for our school fundraiser auction.
They are in complete school uniform.

For the cross, I suggest craft phone then spray paint it to look like would. They have tons of foams at craft stores so I am sure they can find a sheet of it for you to work with. A light brown and a darker brown paint I think would look nifty for it. As for his robe, I don't have much knowledge of what it looks like. [face_blush]

Again, your puppets are super cute. :D

What is craft foam like to work with?

As for what it would look like, I guess this sort of thing. But Jesus of course looks different with whoever is painting him.

The kind I worked with before was a lot like floral foam. It was really easy to work with. I was able to use just a box knife and it didn't make too much of a mess.

And it looks like you want a linen fabric for both the tunic and the sash thing. Both are easy enough. Craft stores have simple costume patterns. The people there will be able to help figure out exact fabrics and explain how to construct the costume. Or if you have a friend or family member who can sew, YAY!

    I knew you'd like a challenge.

On another note, I made a puppet that I thought looked like Ty from Extreme Home Makeover, and I sent it over to him while they were in town.
I'll be watching for it on the show...
I'll post a pic here when I get them off my camera.

Oh wow, those are just awesome. I love them.

Now why don't we have a Gimer Puppet Theater Thread yet?

Lisa, I happened to stop at a fabric store this afternoon, but the particular fleece that caught my eye, one with musical notes only had and yard and a half yet. :( they've got my number so when they get more in. :D :D

Well, because I have given all of these ones away.
That set went to the kids in my Destination Imagination group last year.
Another one went to Ty Pennington, and another I gave to our chiropractor today.

I am just about done with my Australia trip scrapbook. I just need the page savers to go into the scrapbook. Since I need 9 packs of them, I am waiting for them to go on sale. :p
I'll post pics as soon as I show it to Mike. :D

In the meantime, I know it is a tad early, but I made Christmas cards. :D

    Sorry about double post. [face_blush]

I completed my Australia scrapbook last night. It is completely done. :D

    [image=http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y178/jediyvette/s020.jpg]

My last scrapbook was about 50 pages with 102 pictures. This one is 122 pages with over 200 pictures. It took 2 months instead of 3 weeks like last time. It was quite the adventure.

    Some excerpts:
