    They want us alive, hm?

Sebastian was walking over the street and watched the frozen people. The older man was sitting in his car, with the young woman certainly inside. But there were also a group of thugs hanging out near the entrance. They maybe wanted them alive indeed, but this could escalate pretty quickly.

It did not matter. He was here to talk to the others and that was what he would do. Give them a chance to ... do what? Convince him not to do it? He knew it had to be done. If he ... his future self ... said there was no other option then there was none, really. He would not make this statement if there was any other chance.

He entered the club and once he was sure he was not watched unfroze time and entered the main area, leaving the bouncers behind him.

It was a loud and crowded place. Exactly the kinda place he would have loved 15 years ago and that he hated nowadays. He had grown old. Probably in here he was among the oldest guests. How depressing this would have been under normal circumstances. He made his way through the crowd, looking around as much as he could and ready to freeze time whenever necessary. In here they would easily surprise him. But then again in here he was almost impossible to spot.

Once he arrived at the VIP entrance he froze time again, passed the man guarding the entrance and enjoyed the silence as he made his way up the stairs. Elena was there and so was another man. They talked. The others hadn't made it up here yet and he unfroze time out of sight of all others and slowly approached the young Asian woman in her little black dress who was disturbingly attractive and the man with the glasses.

"Hello. Elena I guess?" He smiled at her. They've turned to the man in the glasses. "And we haven't met have we? I am Sebastian." He did not offer anybody a hand but took a seat with his back to the wall right next to Elena. Looking at the other man he wondered what his "power" might be.

    Kyle (Daniel Jackson)
    Great Expectations, New York

The place was amazing. Of course Kyle knew about various clubs, but he had never been in anything like
this. The pulse of the music was practically hammering itself into his body. He had no issues getting
into the place. That kind of worried him. That was one BIG bouncer at the door, but he had entered no
    problems. That seemed kinda weird.

Kyle had just gotten his drink, but before he could take a sip, he felt a hand on his shoulder. Kyle nearly
spilled his drink as his head whipped around. The place was too loud to hear anyone walk up to him. He turned, to see Lambs looking down at him. "Saw Kawin go upstairs, guess we meet in VIP." He simply said and smiled. "You missed something when you

sneaked out. Really something." Lambs smiled and made his way to the VIP. Kyle wondered what the man
meant by that, but after all of what had been going on, he really didnt need any more surprises.

Grabbing his drink, he simply followed the man up to the VIP area. It wasnt too difficult to follow
really. Kyle looked around, to spot any other various exits. And to see if there was a stairway that led
up. In case something happened. Kyle snorted. In case? Something was going to happen. He just wasnt sure
what. He was sure Sebastian was here, someplace. But in what instance? To help, or to ...

Kyle walked in, and took stock of the surroundings. He tried to find the best place he could place
himself to watch whatever was going to happen. He took a table, and sipped on his drink while he waited, looking at the different people in the room. What was it that drew them? How they all got caught in this horrible trap? Was it all time related? So many questions. But the big question would be, would they get any answers this time?

Colonel Thompson nodded again. It slowly became a "not-impressed" nod he was giving the President of the United States of Amerika here.

"Sir, I appreciate not pressing the issue, also the revoking of an executive order must be declared towards the appropriate body of the state, which I am not. Therefore I am afraid you cannot revoke this order until you return to Washington." He smiled, for the first time. "And I doubt we will be send packing once you see what it is we are dealing with here."

He gestured to follow him. The agents stayed behind. Cale and Matt followed willingly to escape the cutting cold as quickly as possible.

"And I assure you no rule or protocol will be ever bend, broken or disregarded under my command." He seemed to be slightly offended by this. "Paragraph 3.7 of the Antville Protocol say that the existence of the project shall not be revealed to any body of the Government outside the committee. But 3.7.2 states clearly that if extraordinary circumstances demand revealing the project this shall only be done to the President of the United States, Sir. If the committee cannot be reached, which seems to be the case today as I could not get hold of anyone through the authorized channels, the commander of the base shall make the decision if extraordinary circumstances make it necessary to reveal the project. That would be me, Sir. And considering what I have seen today and that you actually already know about Antville ... I have decided these are extraordinary circumstances and therefore I welcome you to Project Antville, Sir." They were now inside and the soldiers took their jackets. "Gant, bring the agents to our warm up room and guard them. Jackson you will stay with the President for his personal protection." Thompson nodded to the men and they saluted and did what they were told. "No ranks." Matt whispered half to Kurt and half to himself. They knew what this meant. Special Forces.

They walked down a long corridor in a very industrial looking facility. Pipes and small displays showing pressure and temperature were everywhere. At the end of the corridor was a huge door Thompson opened by putting his eye before a retina scan and then breathing into a small hole in the wall. The door opened and they it was a very thick metal door. Matt looked at it. "This is a class three seal. We have one of those in the White House." He remarked.

"Correct." Thompson nodded again. "This facility is a high security installation, able to withstand any attack from anything less than a nuclear warhead, Secretary. The lower levels actually would withstand even a nuclear blast up to 50 mt."

Matt raised his brows. "The lower levels?"

"This is just the gate section, Sir. Antville Station is actually a subterranean facility."

Professor Cale smiled. "And the old question arises."

"What would that be Professor?" Matt asked.

"Is all of this to keep something out? Or to lock something in?" He smiled. Matt frowned.

"Both." Thompson replied cooly and lead the way into the station.

    Great Expectations, New York

The Club got even more crowded, it obviously was one of those places where midnight was more of a starting point.

Jane would have little problems with the crowd and vanishing in it. But then she saw one man standing out a bit, a black man in his forties. She knew him. It was Lambs, their first kill. Alive and not looking happy or relaxed at all he was also on his way to the stairs to VIP upstairs. And then next to stood John Yuen, the third of Simmons "hitmen" who had been assembled only 36 hours earlier. "They have all come, I'd say. Maria did a good job." He smiled, faking to chat her up. "So I heard you are a liability now? Don't worry, I got a job to do and it is not you." He smiled. "No kids, no politics." He shrugged and laughed. "And I need to make an exception for the boy already." He looked at her, his hand in the jacket like hers was in hers. "But Rutherford has less of a codex, so be careful. Whatever you do here."

Kyle found Lambs easily getting them past the security and up the stairs to the VIP floor. He smiled when he saw Kyle had followed him. Kyle's looking for exits was less successful though. There was the main entrance and one fire exit. No way this would pass any security check, but the Club probably bribed the right people.

In the VIP area the next of the guests appeared. And this one Maria knew all to well, after all she had shot him just yesterday. "Hey all. Kawin. Sebastian. Whoever you are. This is Kyl. For those who do not know me, I am Lambs." He stared at Maria/Elena as he sat down and he looked tired. "So shall we begin?"

Sebastian was there as Kyle had been afraid. But he was now the healthy more friendly person Kyle had met the day before. Yet something of the feverish eyes of his creepy self was there now. As if it had crawled into his skull and was now reflected in his eyes.

In front of the Great Expectations, New York

"Sir, if I were you I wouldn't go in there." Arthur Mulligan turned around and was a bit surprised to see the man in a grey hoodie who seemed to have appeared from nowhere.

"Why? I have reason to believe the individual I am seeking is in there ..."

"It's a trap. Maybe not a trap for you. But the kind of trap that will turn a club into a slaughterhouse if you are unlucky."

Arthur nodded. "I met a man this afternoon ..."

"He will be fine." The man in the grey hoodie smiled. "Now you have other things worry about."

"Like what?" Arthur eyed the other suspiciously.

"Like ... Tell me EVERYTHING you know."

"Why would I give you such precious information?" Arthur smiled, but there was no humor in the smile. Only an attempt to hide nervousness under a screen of arrogance.

"Oh, I got time. Arthur. I got time."

    IC: President Kurt Roland
    Antville Installation, Antville, Alaska

By this point, Kurt was growing impatient with the Colonel’s pretentious behavior. The man clearly liked being in charge and exerting his control over others. This was readily apparent in the way he eagerly stepped up to recite the stipulations involved in the process of revoking an Executive Order. It was the very same thing Kurt had just got done saying, which drew a skeptical look from the President, but he soon realized Thompson had emphasized that point on purpose. The man wasn’t simply repeating his words to make himself sound important – he was doing it to make sure that the President was aware of his limitations. In this case, he wanted to remind him that he was essentially powerless to intervene with these proceedings while the Executive Order remained in place. Colonel Thompson had ultimate control over Antville.

A wry grin formed on the President’s lips at that realization. The Colonel was a sly one, but he also had to admire his tenacity. It was that kind of attitude that kept a place like this running smoothly.

When Thompson saw that the President finally understood, he only smirked – a first of its kind. “And I doubt we will be sent packing once you see what it is we are dealing with here.”

“Don’t get your hopes up, Colonel,” he remarked with an acute gaze, one eyebrow lifting to meet his challenge. “I’m a hard sell.”

After the short exchange, Kurt fell silent and allowed the Colonel and his troops to lead them into the facility. Thompson continued to brief them on the nature of the Order and the unusual circumstances that had occurred which led to Kurt gaining access to the base’s many secrets. Apparently everything followed a specific code and all major decisions were filtered down through a committee. He frowned at that last part. What sort of committee? Who were the active members and how did they get appointed? It was like Antville had its own shadow government. That prospect was more disturbing than any potential dangers lurking behind these walls.

“A committee…” he repeated to himself, his voice barely audible. “Is that how you acquired funding for something like this?”

That thought was still on his mind when they reached an antechamber just inside the main entrance. They paused here to regroup, and Kurt couldn’t help but notice the nondescript walls and utility-style corridors branching off from the small space. It wasn’t a very welcoming sight, but that was probably done on purpose. It was also considerably warmer here, and as the soldiers came forward to collect their coats, the Colonel proceeded to dole out assignments and initiate security protocols. This included designating one of the soldiers to act as the President’s personal escort in place of the Secret Service agents. Kurt turned to the man known as Jackson and studied him warily. No doubt he was more than capable of protecting his charge, but there was something about the passive look in his eye that set him on edge. Despite those reservations, the President nodded appreciatively.

Before he could say anything further to the man, he was interrupted by someone whispering over his shoulder. “No ranks.”

Kurt tensed and craned his neck to see Matt standing behind him. A knowing glance instantly passed between them, and he quickly realized that there was no need to communicate further to understand what his friend was thinking. He could see the concern in Matt’s eyes. They weren’t dealing with regular army grunts – Thompson and his men were Special Forces. That would surely complicate things, but considering what they were dealing with, was he really surprised?

He decided to take that information in stride as the Colonel started down a connecting corridor to lead them into the heart of the facility. Once again, Kurt opted for silence and simply observed their surroundings, noting the many gauges, displays, and pipes lining the utilitarian hallway. It looked more like the interior of an industrialized power plant rather than a military base. It was a curious notion. With furrowed brow, he casually reached up to adjust his tie, but he soon dropped his arms back to his sides when they approached the end of the hall and he saw the large, metal door blocking their path. His eyes narrowed and he instinctively turned to the Colonel for answers.

Thompson was already busying himself with the locking mechanism, a highly complicated system which consisted of a retina scan and breath analyzer. The President watched in amazement as the door eventually cycled open with a slight hiss of pressurized air.

"This is a class three seal,” Matt noted with fascination. “We have one of those in the White House."

Slowly, Kurt stepped forward and began to rub his hand along the seal, inspecting the craftsmanship. Matt was right. This place was built like a fortress. As he continued to study the door, he was only mildly aware of the conversation going on around him. That all changed when the Colonel specifically mentioned the sub-levels and the security measures designed to keep something in…while keeping others out

The President abruptly pulled his hand away from the door as if he had been shocked by an electric current and stared after Thompson’s retreating back. The man’s statement had certainly piqued his interest. He recalled something the Colonel had relayed to him in passing only a short time ago on the surface, and suddenly, it all made sense…

Pressing his lips together firmly, Kurt started after the Colonel at a steady gait. “You’re referring to the ‘subjects,’” he said in an even tone. It was not posed as a question. “If these protocols are in place, is it then safe to assume that all three are still alive and currently under your supervision in these…guest quarters? Unharmed?” He paused long enough to peer around at their immediate surroundings, his thoughts momentarily drifting back to LEGO and the other targets. After a moment, he slowly shook his head and sighed at how absurd this whole scenario was. “If so, I’d like to see them.”

That last part was not a request.

And even before she could really start a conversation she suddenly saw "him". The man from the video. The man who had wiped Moore away as if he was a school boy fighting a heavy weight champion.

"Hello LEGO. Or do you prefer Sebastian?" She smiled. She would allow Kawin to introduce himself. Her eyes went over the crowd. She was sure the others were here already. And she doubted she would be able to stop them, even if she now was the President's girl. So she really hoped this FBI squad was any good. This could become rather messy, rather quickly.

But the greatest danger were these ordinary people ... who were not ordinary at all.

Then the next arrival stood before her ... and it took her all her willpower not to jump up. She knew the man. She had killed him. The introduction of the boy from the video was almost lost ... how? She wanted to yell "I killed you", but restrained herself and smiled. "I am Elena." She simply said and her mind raced. Did he survive the shot? Or was he time travelling? If so did he remember her? If so why ask for her name? She decided to take her chances, what else could she do?

"I am Elena." She smiled. And offered Kyle and Lambs a seat with a gesture of her hand. "We are complete." She said and it was not a question.

Smiling had never been so hard. He tried to keep it there as she had introduced herself, as others introduced themselves. No one was anyone to him except for the man in the hoodie, but he had no bullet wound. No tragedy had befallen that man yet. Still he tried to remember, they failed and take that seriously. He had failed countless times possibly before. So that meant. . .what he wanted to do first was wrong, what he wanted to do second was wrong, what he wanted to do third was wrong, and so on and so forth until he comes to what he would not want to do, last resort. The problem was this crazy day had started with a voice on a phone call, Elena. He could hear it now in his mind as he listened to this woman reintroduce herself as her. . .

That is what a young female voice with a slight Eastern European accent had told him. What had set him to try to run, what had revealed the hunter chasing him, what had gotten a seemingly good woman killed trying to protect him, and now apparently had gotten the woman that saved his life killed. With a heavy sigh he ran a finger over the table in front of him.

All of this of course meant seemingly nothing. Because he had failed. Which meant he would call her out for a fraud for the benefit of these others. He would not shoot her. He would advocate they run away, not anymore. Now he just smiled and nodded. "As we are complete, names seem to matter little. The city will burn if we do nothing. The world will end if we do nothing. I have a. . .an associate who says he knows how we became what we are and possibly how to save the world. I am not what he needs." With a gesture he pointed at the grey hoodie, "He is close but not exactly. He says to save the world, he needs one who can stop time. Freeze it or something." With a shrug he looked at the two that joined them. "If we are complete. Who's what matters more than supposed names."

Alright he said he wouldn't, but there was somethings he just could not resist.

    Kyle (Daniel Jackson)
    Great Expectations, New York

Kyle found Lambs easily getting them past the security and up the stairs to the VIP floor. Kyle followed, and he had the same, no issues getting through. The place was however a death trap. Only one or two ways out. What if this was all a trap? That even the other patrons were in on it. Kyle shook slightly, taking another sip of his drink. Maybe he was just getting too paranoid. But, it was not a far fetched idea.

Kyle felt annoyed that Lambs felt obligated to introduce him. The man had a big mouth. Kyle didnt smile or react, he simply found himself a seat, as he looked up, wondering about skylights and other thoughts. He eventually forced himself to pay attention to what was going on. A woman stood up, gesturing. "I am Elena." She smiled. And offered Kyle and Lambs a seat with a gesture of her hand. "We are complete." She stated. Then suddenly, this man began to speak, after the woman's introduction. "As we are complete, names seem to matter little. The city will burn if we do nothing. The world will end if we do nothing. I have an associate who says he knows how we became what we are and possibly how to save the world. I am not what he needs." With a gesture he pointed at the grey hoodie, "He is close but not exactly. He says to save the world, he needs one who can stop time. Freeze it or something." With a shrug he looked at the two that joined them. "If we are complete. Who's what matters more than supposed names."

Kyle forced himself not to react, and didnt make any outwards motions, but he was sure that he had just snorted the rest of his drink with that announcement. His eyes watered, but he managed to stay silent. He looked around the spotted Sebastian. He looked like the normal Sebastian from before. But there was something...wrong. His eyes. He quickly looked away, and became very interested in his drink. What was that bit about the city burning?? And how would this associate know? Unless he was in on this, whatever this was. Oh this was deffinately not feeling right. Well, if something was going to happen, it should happen soon.

    IC: Jane
    Great Expectations, New York

Jane melded into the crowd keeping an eye on her surroundings. As her eyes scanned room they fell on an african-american male, in his mid forties. She recognized him, Lambs, he shouldn't be here, he should be dead. Unless Maria didn't actually kill him just faked his death. It was possible, Jane had done it a few times herself. The only question was why, if she was just going to draw him here where he would most likely be taken in by the government. It was annoying to her when her target's didn't stay dead.

Suddenly appearing up in the VIP area was the black haired man, Anderson she would call him. She had a bone to pick with him but, this job was not one for those that hold grudges. It did however complicate things. His little trick would make him difficult to capture. She could kill him easily enough, just ambush him, give him no chance to react. However now that it was capture, not kill, it made it near impossible for her.

Out of the corner of her eye she spotted John Yuen suddenly at her side.

"They have all come, I'd say. Maria did a good job." He grinned pretending to that this was just a guy talking to a girl at a bar. "So I heard you are a liability now? Don't worry, I got a job to do and it is not you." He smiled. "No kids, no politics." A laugh slipped between his teeth as he shrugged. "And I need to make an exception for the boy already." He reached inside his jacket and so did Jane. "But Rutherford has less of a codex, so be careful. Whatever you do here."

"That's the plan but, I'm waiting for another guest to arrive." She scanned the room again looking for Simmons. "I gather you're going to try and move on them soon? I'd suggest taking out the guy with black hair first. He's tricky, and dangerous, get the drop on them and kill him. But, if you do that, you mess up my job. I know you don't like politics so maybe sit this one out, of if you want to help keep Rutherford busy." She doubted he would help her but, maybe he would just stay out of her way. She still had no means of taking them in alive other than putting bullets into their legs so they couldn't run but, that would just make thing worse. What she needed was tranquilizers, either darts or something to put in the drinks that were no doubt heading up the the VIP section.

Damn, she should have thought about that. There she went again, going off without a plan and having to make things up on the fly.

Again her eye passed around the room. This was a club was it not. There should be at least one person trying to sell 'party' drugs, Molly, Ecstasy, if she was lucky Special K a dose should keep their minds occupied with other things when she moves in for the kill.

Unless Simmons showed up with something else. He didn't seem the type to know have a plan. Maybe she could piggyback off his. Then kill him.

Elena/Maria only nodded at Kawin's words. Yes, she had planned to take control. To lead the conversation and keep up her cover. Now suddenly she felt as if they all knew. Even the boy avoiding eye contact. Lambs. Kawin. Sebastian.

She was not a trained field agent and suddenly cursed herself for trying to handle this all by herself.

But the threat was real. New York burning, the world ending ...

"Can you find the man you are describing?" She asked Kawin directly. "We are hunted for what we are, yet we do not know who we are. Do we? We are killed for having abilities we never asked for. We command power we do not fully understand." She looked around. "A boy from the streets, a model, an artist from Germany, a simple employee from Canada, a blue collar worker ..." She sighed. "We are no superheroes. We are not trained, prepared or fit for this. But we need to deal with this threat, because we have to assume there is nobody else who will."

She sighed and played her joker. "So what can we do? We need to hurry, because we won't be alone for long. They are here."

Folding her hands she breathed in and out and prayed they had answers.

Colonel Thompson looked at the President and then nodded. "Of course Mr. President."

They entered a huge elevator and Thompson pressed a button which indicated they were going down. "Concerning the funding, I am afraid I must point you to the committee. Prof. Jared will most likely know." Matt rolled his eyes. "I see why you did not reach them. He was murdered yesterday." He dryly remarked. And for the first time there was an emotion in the face of Thompson that was not controlled. Shock. Cale stepped next to the President. "You trust this man? Because we are just about to enter his liar."

The elevator began to move and he needed quite some time. They were going deep down. "Alpha is still in an artificial coma, but Beta and Gamma are awake. I guess we start with them?" Thompson asked and it seemed to be the most natural thing for him.

Lambs laughed a dry and cynical laughter.

"Oh you guys can calm down. Our friend here has a solution for all our problems, right Sebastian? He will kill us all and the world will be fine, right? He is the one who send those murderers after us, you knew that?"

Eyeing Sebastian he grinned and spread his arm as if he was to challenge Sebastian. "Tell us about your amazing plan, pal." He winked at him. "Tell us why you need to kill us all."

The other assassin laughed at her. "You are here for yours, we are here for ours. Thanks for the heads up though. Will go for the dark haired first." He sighed and nodded. Then gave Rutherford a look. Drinks were not yet going up, but the drug dealers were so obvious they had probably bribed the cops. Two black cliches guys were handing out the pills near the toilet.

Yet something felt wrong. This was not the place for Adrian. He would be recognized here, be a bit too old for the crowd. Unable to blend in.

Sebastian stared at Lambs for a long moment, then with a sad nod he confirmed the man's words. "Sort of my plan. Yes." He looked at the others. "But all of you know that already I assume. You met him." He smiled. "The other Sebastian."

He leaned back and fought for the right words to explain himself. When he opened his mouth they came naturally ...

"I ... a future version of myself ... or if you want to be precise the alternate future version of myself ... has experienced the end of existence because of a failure of time. He has experienced it countless times and it always happened once we appeared. Considering our unique abilities it is clear we are responsible for this event. We are the cause. We are the anomaly. After trying everything else he turned to extreme measure to avert this complete annihilation of everything. He travelled back and arranged our murder. Planning to allow himself to be killed last. This is why we are hunted. He arranged all of this again and again. We are harder prey than expected and failed to be killed in time in each cycle, resulting in the end of the world eventually. Again and again." Sebastian smiled his most tortured smile. "He is dead now, but he has given me what he considers the key to succeed. He also asked me to take his place, arrange your death and make sure this time it is done right." Sebastian gave the assembled a sad smile. "Otherwise this is bound to happen again. And again and again. Even this reality he said cannot be saved. I already experienced failures of time. Therefore I believe I have little choice left, but to try and succeed where he has failed. It is us or everything. And we die anyway. It is just the question if the rest of the world survives."

He sighed. "So obviously I won't do anything to you. If you think you can save the word, please try. I will go back and kill alternate versions of you in an alternate past, while you remain here and witness the inevitable end." He nodded. "That is my understanding."

He went silent and looked at the others. His eyes remained with Kyle. The boy did not deserve this. Then again, who of them did? They were all dead he reminded himself. They were all already dead.

"I am truly sorry." He said this to Kyle.

So, Professor Jared shared an intimate connection with the Antville facility by serving on the committee…

Kurt frowned and canted his head to study the Colonel closely. His reaction to the professor’s death was quite interesting, to say the least. Either he did not expect things to snowball this far, or he was genuinely surprised to learn that someone higher up in the food chain had taken extreme measures to keep the man silent. If it was the latter, was he now fearing for his own life? After all, he had just spilled the big secret to the President. But more importantly, who was responsible?

It would be fascinating to see the remainder of the names on that committee list. Would he find Meyers and Taylor among them?

Before he could interrogate the Colonel further, Professor Cale stepped next to him and spoke in hushed tones. "You trust this man? Because we are just about to enter his lair.”

“No, I don’t trust him,” the President replied firmly, his expression grim. He did not bother to look at the professor, but instead, kept his gaze on Thompson. “But I have people out there right now in harm’s way who are depending on me to find answers. I’m doing it for them. Under the circumstances, I don’t have any other choice. Too much is at stake.”

Kurt fell silent and merely sighed as the elevator descended down into the depths. Whatever happened beyond this point, he just hoped it didn’t turn into a foolish endeavor. He couldn’t afford to fail.

"Alpha is still in an artificial coma, but Beta and Gamma are awake,” the Colonel continued after a moment, clearly referring to the subjects. “I guess we start with them?"

The President nodded, noting the names Thompson had assigned to the prisoners. It was like they were no longer human, having been thoroughly stripped of their identities. It was a disturbing notion. Kurt almost felt sympathy for them. “Before we go in, what can you tell me about them?” he inquired, gesturing casually with his right hand. “Their background, the nature of their abilities…are they consistent with what we’re currently dealing with?” He raised his brow curiously. “And you mentioned that one is in a medically induced coma…why? Is that how you contain them when they refuse to cooperate?” He couldn’t help but smile at that thought. It was almost too simple. “I have to say, Colonel, I’m rather curious how you got them here in the first place.”

He trailed off for a moment, but then another thought occurred to him. “You know, thirteen years is an awful long time to be stuck down here in captivity,” he stated matter-of-factly. “Are they aware of life outside of these walls? Or have they been kept isolated from world events?”

Colonel Thompson lead them out of the elevator into the almost clinical pale white floors of the lower levels. There were surprising few people down here. Only two soldiers without weapons approached them and saluted. Matt raised a brow as they passed.

"They seem not to be surprised by the President of the United States showing up." He remarked. Thompson nodded.

"They are not." He simply replied and changed the topic. "Actually I was not involved in the original transfer of the subjects. I was a low rank soldier back then. Our leader choose me later for my position. Much later. After my predecessor was wiped out of existence by Alpha, at least we assume that is what he did. We cannot be sure. Alpha was out into his current state to protect the world from him, Mr. President. He is a very unstable personality with extremely destructive tendencies and a fascination for the concept of the holy war. The same time he is the most powerful of the three in direct confrontation. Almost impossible to contain or control. We had no choice, yet kept him alive to study him." He coughed and again they entered another security zone, guarded by nothing but another door secured through a hand scanner and a face recognition. Without a word he performed the procedure with the ease of a man who does this several times a day.

"The other two subjects have actually ... been more tame. We learned a lot about them over the years." He straightened himself. "Actually I am not familiar with the current appearance of new subjects beyond the awareness there has been one."

Cale looked around and whispered something to Matt who nodded. The Professor was obviously nervous.

They suddenly arrived in a very different area. Through another door and they entered something that looked more like a living quarter than a scientific facility. There was a large couch, a nespresso coffee machine, a stylish desk and on it a stash of paper and at the blank white wall there was a large graffiti. A LEGO. They president as a vector graphic with the trademark sentence of LEGO below it. "Why vote for the lesser evil?"

"They have a taste for streetart? So much for them being cut off from information." Professor Cale smirked. Thompson smiled. His first true smile. Then he walked over to the most curious of all things in the room. A phone. Thompson waited patiently, but did not comment.

"Gamma might be the least isolated creature on earth, to be honest." He sighed. "But I will let her explain this herself. We will find her in her chamber."

Three doors with Greek letters for Alpha, Beta and Gamma were on the opposite side of the living room.

Thompson went to the Gamma, opened the door and offered the President to enter through a gesture of his arm.

Her eyes scan the room again, noting the ages of the patrons. They were young, about her age and below. This wasn't a place for Simmons, too old, too uptight, he'd stand out. Was he waiting for them to leave? Or did his plan not involve a direct confrontation. Another glance and she spotted the most obvious of dealers over near the bathrooms. Most likely Ex or Molly then, she shook her head. It wouldn't hurt to as if they had kedimeen but, that was an intravenous drug not oral. Another thought came to her GBH. It was rather uncouth to even mention it but, it was a possibility, spike the drinks call the general to mop up.

"You are here for yours, we are here for ours." John said after a laugh, "Thanks for the heads up though. Will go for the dark haired first."

However that plan fell apart if the others intervened.

"I really wish you wouldn't," She replied, "I'm trying to do my job here too, and I need them alive." Her grey eyes look over to the other assassin, a cold expression on her face. "Give me a chance to bring them in first. Things go south I take them out."

"Give me five minutes." She asked, looking her former associate in the eyes. She hated having to be on the opposite side from him, hated that her contract conflicted with his. She was trying to be professional, trying to compromise.

It was time to see how far that 'No Politics' rule went for John.

A chill ran down Kurt’s spine when the Colonel confirmed his suspicions by admitting that they had been expecting his visit. Or, at least, that is what he implied. It was the only explanation for the men’s obvious indifference to encountering him in the corridors. But once again, how was that possible? Between Matt, Cale, and himself, no one had spoken a word about this particular mission.

    Unless…

Narrowing his eyes, the President glanced back over his shoulder to watch the soldiers disappear around a corner on the far end of the hallway. “Using a bit of clairvoyance to predict my arrival, Colonel?” he asked, a wan smile forming on his lips. “Very impressive. Not that I blame you for taking advantage of your subjects’ abilities to potentially see into the future, but under the circumstances, perhaps you should practice some restraint. It steals a bit of my thunder.” His words were clearly phrased as a joke, but there was an underlying tone to his voice that suggested something more menacing. It was a warning.

As they continued down the corridor, Thompson changed the subject and began to give a detailed account of the three subjects in their possession. Kurt pursed his lips and lowered his chin as he soon learned of Alpha’s destructive nature, which had apparently driven the man to wipe the Colonel’s commanding officer from existence. It might have sounded like something out of a bad science fiction film, but Kurt quickly recalled Marshal Moore’s fate at the diner back in DC. In the reports he had read on the incident, the experts had described the situation in a similar fashion – Moore had ceased to exist. But that was all superficial compared to the disturbing news that Alpha could not be contained without inducing a coma. Where did that leave him with his current predicament? What about Liang and the others? Did they stand a chance?

With a sigh, the President reminded himself that these people had thirteen years to harvest as much knowledge as they could from the subjects. If push came to shove, hopefully they had learned enough…

"The other two subjects have actually ... been more tame,” Thompson stated as they came to another security checkpoint. “We learned a lot about them over the years."

Ah, there was the opening he was looking for…

“Like what, Colonel?” he pried, keeping his demeanor fairly casual. “Are you satisfied with the results so far? And what is it you intend to do with your findings? Something tells me you didn’t just build this elaborate…facility…” He trailed off and gave an incredulous snort as they entered the spacious living quarters. “Damn…”

Kurt had obviously assumed the worst about their living arrangements, but he was glad to see that he was wrong. They had done a fine job hiding the fact that this place was essentially a prison. The common area had all the comforts of home, including a large couch and a nespresso machine nestled in one corner of the room. A desk was also pushed against the opposite wall, its surface cluttered with stacks of paper and other reading material. But then he froze as his gaze traveled up from the desk to study the lone decoration adorning the blank wall – a LEGO graffiti. He noted that it was similar to the one he currently had folded up inside of his suit coat. He started to reflexively reach for it, but stopped himself when Cale decided to call attention to the graffiti in his usual sarcastic manner.

Clenching his jaw, he turned away and tried to push LEGO out of his mind.

Of all the pieces of art to choose from…

"Gamma might be the least isolated creature on earth, to be honest." The Colonel sighed and approached three doors on the far end of the room, each marked with a different letter of the Greek alphabet to represent the occupant. "But I will let her explain this herself. We will find her in her chamber." Thompson stepped aside and gestured for the President to enter Gamma’s space.

The President eyed the open doorway warily before looking back at the Colonel, his expression hardening. He had been held at gun-point once by one of these super beings; he wasn't going to walk willfully into the same situation twice in one day. If they were going to talk, it would be under his own terms. Something still felt…off about this place. “Actually, Colonel, if she is able, I would prefer that she join us out here.” He flashed a cold smile. “Would that be a problem?”

The responses came quickly and from surprising corners as the woman was the first to say anything. What she said was telling, but he had to wonder. . .did she really want to know? Humming out a few bars of the opening for the classic Star Trek title he simply tried to listen, not to judge, not to shout at her, not to shoot her. She seemed to desperately want to know, was it real? Did she somehow care? Well, it was her world wasn't it?

Then the new comer had spoken up, spoken of the Grey Hoodies solutions. Shaking his head he looked down at the table top, his eyes studying the surface as he ran his fingers across it. Tap-tap-tap. Glide, to the side and back. Tap-tap. Glide away, return to center. Tap. Tap-tap. Listening was getting harder as he tried to navigate his own thoughts and constant doubts of how he could play out a moment. What he could do. What he should do. What he had possibly done that had gotten them all killed or never helped them.

Sebastian, or Grey Hoodie as he liked to call him, spoke up. Tip-for-tap. Rapping his fingers on the table he listened in turn. "Save your tears. Arthur has a plan. You didn't seem to know my acquaintance as I watched you bleed out. And in case you succeed I will tell you what I already told you, this feels like killing the symptom, not the problem. So if you can come back from your murderous deed. . .I would welcome you." he stated with a nod. "As for finding him he knows where we are." Shrugging he looked out over the club, "I doubt he could make it in a place like this though. I say we leave and hope. Staying would of been my second choice." he muttered the last to himself as he thought through all the ways he could handle this long term. Stay or leave the club was the first choice, he didn't really see a third nor further option.

"IF anything goes wrong." he now looked directly at the woman calling herself Elena. "Shoot me in the head." With that he leaned back with a hand on his chair and one on the table. Ready to stand and leave, waiting to see what they would decide. Seeing what choices they would make this time, his first and only time. His time.

Sebastian looked at the man and gave him a sad smile. Kawin they had called him?

But he understood the logic, yet he also saw the flaw. The other man had not understood anything though ...

"I am not coming back. There is no coming back. I become part of the new timeline just like you stay part of this. And sure, we fight the symptoms ... or the patient dies. I try to save the patient not heal the illness. Because I do not know how to." He sighed. "I understand your thinking, but according to my other self this has played out a hundred times. And even if he did not know about Arthur ..." He realized that it was the strange Brit from the plane. "... Arthur was there every time and did not save us."

He looked at Kyle. "But I hope you are right and after I am gone you can save this ... world. I won't keep you from it. Actually the one he is looking for is Kyle." He pointed to Kyle. "I can freeze time temporary, but he can do it permanently and much more targeted."

He was a little irritated by the headshot comment. "And whatever happens, we are not desperate enough for suicide, are we?"

Colonel Thompson did not respond at all to the Clairvoyant sentence of the President, but when asked about the results of their research he smiled.

"The functionality and structure of time, also Gamma offers practical insight." He sighed. "Invaluable practical insight."

Thompson had suddenly the full attention of Cale. "Well what is the structure and functionality of time? I would be most interested ..."

"I don't know, Professor Cale. I am a simple soldier. But Gamma told me you got it all wrong." Cale blinked irritated and Thompson could not hide his amusement. Even Matt had to smile.

Then the President asked them to meet in the living room and Thompson nodded. "I will ask her to join us." He entered the room and shut the door behind him. Matt immediately went over to the phone and picked it up. "Line is free." He remarked and put it back.

"I expected a little more Hannibal Lecter and a lot less hospitality I gotta say." Professor Cale sighed and still looked at the Graffiti. "But they are obviously very aware of what is going on." He folded his arms. "When did LEGO start? Six month ago?" Matt nodded. The soldier who was guarding them was still a silent figure next to the door and he gave him a look.

"Six months, fours days and nine hours ago he sprayed this graffiti in Los Angeles, California." The voice was female, soft, gentle and friendly. There was a hint of an undefinable accent. They all turned probably and saw next to Col. Thompson a dark skinned young woman who was wearing a traditional headscarf. Her eyes had a glowing intensity, but her serious features turned into a welcoming smile for a moment before returning into a most serious state.

Col. Thompson smiled. "Mr. President this is Ayshe, or Gamma as we labeled her. Ayshe I am sure you are aware who our guests are." Thompson stepped aside to allow Ayshe to make her own impression. But his eyes stayed on her.

Owen Garand, the uncle as Jane referred to him, had his gun resting on his legs and his eyes on the Club. He did not see the man approach from the blind angle of his mirrors. When the backdoor opened he realized it was too late.

"Owen." Simmons almost hissed his name when he sat down on the back seat, putting his suitcase next to him and his silenced pistol into the neck of the elder man.

"You really have become as good as they say, Walter." Owen sighed. His hands were not visible to the man. Instead for the gun he decided to go for the mobile. He knew what this meant, but he had no choice. She had to know.

"It is Adrian nowadays." Simmons said.

    "Whatever." Owen sighed.

"When I saw her memo I knew Meyers would use you to get to her." He simply stated.

    "Yeah, figured that." Owen replied.

The two men were silent for a moment. Owen broke the silence first. As long as they talked he would probably not die. His thumb send his short message.

"So what now Walter? Kill them all?" He asked.

"Yes." A simple reply. An honest one. There was nothing but truth between two old warriors left when they came to this point.

"I never forgot what you made me do. The bug-job." Owen smiled. "Always hoped the day would come when I would get even with you."

Simmons smiled. "Guess tonight was meant to be the big night then."

    Owen nodded.

Simmons waited for a second, then he laughed. "Your little Girl will die too. But if it gives you any comfort, so will I."

"What do you plan to do? Suicide bombing?"

"Of sorts." Simmons free hand rested on his suitcase. Owen looked at it through the rear view mirror. He wanted to say something, but the bullet that entered his brain stopped it. With a simple hiss of the gun his life ended. Simmons remained in the car for a moment. Where else would he go. He was close enough.

Lambs shook his head. "So we are save, except your other version already set his plan to kill us already in motion? And you wanna calm us down, because you will only continue the cycle by plotting murder of the next iteration of all this. What is wrong with you? Do you not even here what Kawin gotta say about this guy he met?"

He looked at Kyle. "I know I cannot stop you, but hell I will try. Because I am tired of being hunted by you, only because you think you figured it all out!" His eyes stated on Kyle. He was expecting the boy to make his choice. Stop Sebastian or accept the cycle.

The other assassin looked at Jane and sighed. "Our orders are to make sure they do not escape and kill them if the chance arises. So yeah, I can give you five minutes. But can't talk for Rutherford."

This was surreal. One of them wanted to be shot in the head, one wanted to go back in time and kill them all and the resurrected Lambs basically asked for support in killing Sebastian.

Suddenly the Hunters seemed less of a problem. He hand moved to her bag instinctively to be ready to grab the gun and kill Lambs ... again if he tried. She would not have this guy turn this into a blood bath. She was meant to get them alive.

"The point is, we could use your help." She said to Sebastian. "Your abilities might not be what the mystery man is looking for, but they are ... amazing. Why don't you help us and you can always go back if we fail, hm?" Not letting her eyes of Lambs she hoped these men would start agreeing on a course of action soon. Otherwise this mission would be impossible to complete.

"Welcome to Antville, Mr. President. Mr. Andrews, Professor. A pleasure to meet you." She slowly walked over to the couch and sat down quietly, folding her hands and looking at her three visitors. "You must have so many questions."

As the Colonel disappeared through the doorway to retrieve Gamma, the President turned away with one hand on his chin in contemplation. He didn’t seem too concerned with Cale’s continued interest in the LEGO graffiti, or even Matt’s discovery that the room was equipped with a single working phone line. Although, he surmised that the latter may come in handy later on, especially with them being so far underground. Cell service was probably nonexistent down here. Even then, he only gave it a passing thought so that he could focus on the Colonel’s brief explanation about what they had ultimately learned from the subjects.

How had the man phrased it? That they had uncovered the functionality and structure of time? That Gamma provided invaluable practical insight? He slowly shook his head.

While it was all very vague, he couldn't help but feel a sense of urgency...of anticipation. He noted that Thompson had deliberately ignored his comment about them utilizing these powers to foresee his arrival. That had been a glaring mistake. The Colonel’s silence spoke volumes in terms of confirming his suspicions. And he had a feeling that this was only just the beginning. What else were they now capable of?

In answer to that question, a soft lilting voice carried across the room, responding to a conversation between Matt and the professor regarding the graffiti on the wall. The voice recited dates and times down to the exact hour of LEGO's first sighting in Los Angeles, which was information that no one should conceivably know.

    Curious.

With his hand still resting on his chin, Kurt slowly turned to see a young, dark-skinned woman in a headscarf emerge from Gamma’s chamber. Her eyes were intense, but it wasn’t her gaze that instantly captivated him. There was something about her smile. It was amiable at first, seemingly genuine, but he could see that it held a much deeper meaning. He couldn’t quite put his finger on it, but it was enough to set him on edge. He momentarily averted his gaze to look at the Colonel, who introduced the young woman as Ayshe.

"Welcome to Antville, Mr. President. Mr. Andrews, Professor. A pleasure to meet you,” she said quietly as she sat down on the couch and folded her hands upon her lap. “You must have so many questions." Again, she offered a small, but comforting smile. ”Do not worry, I have all the answers."

Kurt exhaled slowly through his nose and cast a sideways glance at Matt before stepping forward cautiously. He managed a small smile of his own and eventually joined her on the couch, sitting down to her right. “It’s an honor to meet you as well, Ayshe,” he began with sincerity, extending his hand in greeting. “Your reputation certainly precedes you. And under the circumstances, I’m glad to see you in relatively good health.”

After a moment, he cleared his throat and made himself more comfortable by resting his elbows on his thighs and leaning forward with his hands clasped together. He then nodded in the direction of the LEGO graffiti. “That was an impressive demonstration, but I have to admit, even after 24 hours to process everything, it still comes as a bit of a shock to me. Time manipulation? Rediscovering the functionality and structures of time? Practical insight? How does one even begin to understand? I never imagined that something like this could be possible. It goes against every natural law…and yet, here you sit. On last count, there were a total of nine of you. Three are currently at large.” He sighed and canted his head incredulously. “How does something like this happen?”

Ayshe had to smile again, as her promise to have the answers was pretty quickly challenged.

"Nine? Oh we have no idea how many there are. These abilities who are frightening you and your people so much, they can lie dormant for all your life. They only appear once two of my kind cross pathes. We call that "The Crossing"." She looked at the Professor for a moment and then sighed.

"We are a consequence of an experiment to create a reactor that uses the spatial time axis as a potential source of unlimited energy. The experiments to establish the technology were executed twice and are conducted by the group of scientists known as the Mansfield Institute. These men have only recently realized the connection between us and their experiment, so I am afraid for the foreseeable future they will not know exactly how this abilities come to pass."

Ayshe looked at the Professor. "I think you are familiar with their work, are you?" An acknowledging nod was all she gave Professor Cale before turning her head to the President again. "It must pain you they were actually right and you were wrong."

Raising his brow, Kurt glanced up and scrutinized Cale under a hard glare. While he felt satisfaction over this woman finally putting the smug professor in his place, it was only a small victory compared to the gravity of their current situation. He reminded himself that Cale had been the first to mention Mansfield to him, but he had failed to see the connection then. He now felt his ire beginning to rise as it became clear that the man may have withheld pertinent information. Clenching his hand into a fist, he wanted to speak with the professor in private, but he had more pressing matters on his mind. Ayshe’s words were like a lead weight pressing down on him, threatening to overtake him with their urgency. There was so much to dissect, but where to begin? It was overwhelming.

As his expression sobered, he idly wondered if perhaps that was part of the plan – inundate him with the impossible, and then slowly coerce him into acceptance. The thought of these people possibly manipulating him in that way only fueled his indignation.

“So, this was a mistake,” he stated gruffly as his gaze returned to the woman beside him. This was followed by an exasperated sigh. “This…Mansfield Institute had no intentions of creating you, and as far as they’re aware, have no real knowledge that you actually exist or what you’re capable of. They’re essentially in the dark. Their true goal was…unlimited energy?” He scoffed and slowly shook his head. It sounded so mundane, and yet, there was some real potential there. He had to ask the question that was nagging at the back of his mind. “Were they successful?”

After a moment, he reclined back against the cushions to consider her words more closely. “But that still doesn’t make sense,” he continued, thinking out loud. “You mentioned that you don’t know how many were affected by these experiments, but there has to be some kind of correlation, such as proximity to the reactor or some other residual source of contamination. I don’t think it was random. If we can identify what that is, we can prevent more of you from ‘crossing’ paths and adding to this problem. Maybe even find a cure.”

The President narrowed his eyes. “Is that the purpose of Antville?”

He wanted to believe that more than anything, but something told him it went deeper than that. Much, much deeper…

The Professor gave her a forced smile, but restrained himself successfully. It did not surprise her. Of course it didn't. She closed her eyes and fought the overwhelming feeling of anticipation.

    "That is ..."

"Impossible? No it is not. It is just beyond your understanding of temporary physics." She felt him fight for his cool facade. She did not care. He had another purpose to serve.

A million thoughts exploded in her head. Some very possible and some fading into impossibility. But the cloud was finally lifting. Maria Liang had given her access to them, through her she saw them. Finally.

Her eyes snapped open again and she faved the President.

"They were successful, yes. But with the solution of one problem came another, bigger problem." She smiled. "The generator is unstable and considering the unlimited amount of energy it produces, this will be a problem." With a sigh she folded her hands. "I made sure they get what they need."

Then she turned to the second question. And she had to giggle.

"Random? Oh you would be surprised by how little is random, Mr. President. And what do you want to cure? What is our illness? Power?" She leaned forward. "We are a reality that cannot be cured anymore. We have been around for ten years now, so what do you think we did? Look for a cure? We are not the illness. We are the cure." A smile played around her mouth. "You want to eliminate us without making your hands dirty? Find a way to strip us from our power? Well, that is something the less powerful always dream of, aren't say? Fear. The fear of being left behind by a world now turning around something ... someone else. I understand. Recently I actually have begun to understand."

She leaned back and looked to Thomas.

"And Antville. Whatever the original mission of Antville was, now it serves only one purpose. From here, Mr. President, from here I rule the world."

    IC: President Kurt Roland
    Antville Installation, Antville, Alaska

“And the truth finally comes out…” Kurt murmured under his breath, his expression twisting into a mask of contempt. He turned to look at Matt and spread his hands, the simple gesture seeming to indicate that he was through here. Part of him wondered if Ayshe was perhaps suffering from some sort of mental incapacity after being isolated for so long, but he had already seen what LEGO had done – what he had threatened to do if things spiraled out of control. The same fire was evident in this woman’s eyes, burning fiercely behind her calm facade. He had no other choice but to take her words seriously.

But what if he was already too late? Thirteen years had passed…

“It almost sounds like you want to suppress everyone who wasn't fortunate enough to take part in this...Crossing,” he noted in an even tone. “In your mind, the entire world is sick. And you consider yourself the ‘cure’? Am I understanding that correctly?”

Clenching his jaw, the President lowered his gaze to the floor in disbelief. It was such a jaded view to have of the world. He almost felt sorry for her, but then he reminded himself that this woman was dangerous and had just made a serious threat against them. Any sympathy he felt toward her instantly vanished.

“So, where does that leave us?” he continued with a sigh. “What do you expect of me? To stand down and do nothing? Just...let it happen? Do you really think I – hell, let's include all world leaders in this, shall we? – do you think we will simply kneel at your feet while you declare yourself ruler and proceed to control us like puppets?" He couldn’t help but recall Secretary Bird’s words from the meeting earlier today when he warned them about these people manipulating political events on a global scale and becoming the ultimate puppet masters. It now seemed like the old man had a legitimate concern. He smiled sardonically at that realization and shook his head.

"You know I can't allow that to happen, especially here on American soil.” He rose to his feet and tugged on the edge of his suit coat to straighten it. “You and your kind are a threat to society...to our very existence. You go against God Himself. I came here hoping to find a peaceful resolution, maybe even a chance to co-exist under the right conditions, so before we go any further, I want to make one thing very clear – I will not respond to threats. Don't think that I'm not prepared to shut this place down to rectify your delusions."
