There never were any characters brought in to replace his. Who are you thinking of?

Newer ones like Gil and...another one who's name escapes me. Sorry, I haven't watched it in a decade.

Gil was introduced before Hartman passed away and oddly enough the first episode he was in also had Lionel Hutz in it. Yeah he was a lawyer in a couple of episodes but his character has always been a guy who's constantly moving from job to job.

Yeah, I've never found Gil to be that funny. Troy McClure, and Bart's iinept lawyer, on the other hand were frequently hilarious.

Me too. Even after finding out he's supposed to be based on Jack Lemmon's character from Glengarry Glen Ross, I still didn't like him. Same as with finding out the origins of the "Yesssssssss?" guy

Really? I didn't know that, Maybe Gil would have been funny if he had been voice by Jack Lemon.

I did like Jack Lemmon's one episode where he played the guy who got Marge to join the pretzel business.

At least the couch gags can still be entertaining.

when my eldest daughter was younger, we'd watch it together every day, and try to predict the couch gag. her go to's were always the burglars or aliens one, mine was frogs on a lily pad.

    good times

Good. Nice to see that everyone's favorite evil billionaire is returning to Springfield.

Also I wish this were bigger, so you could see all the characters more clearly, but it's cool and impressive.

While DAVID BOWIE never appeared as a guest on the Simpsons (though his MUSIC did), english THESPIAN ALAN RICKMAN was PORTRAYED by BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH on THE SIMPSONS "Love is a Many Splintered Thing". The COSMIC WIRES must have been CROSSED, because it was RICKMAN, not CUMBERBATCH that was cruelly SNATCHED from us overnight.

ALSO things are GETTING WEIRDER as LEMMY KILMISTER never appeared on the SIMPSONS TV SHOW, but has been taken from us for MERELY appearing in a SIMPSONS TREEHOUSE of HORROR Comic Book.
