I think part of it is it's Heath Ledger's final performance and it's spectacullar. Totally unfortunate but a great testament to his acting and career.

No matter how much TDK makes, I don't think it'll be as successful moneywise as Star Wars in 1977. Taking into condieration ticket prices then and now, along with inflation, number of theaters now, and comparing actual tickets sold vs. money made, what Star Wars made in 1977 was unheard of, considering it was in about 35 theaters nationwide when it opened, compared to several thousand a summer movie opens in today! Still, even experts believe no movie can really touch Titanic now in terms of money. There's a very interesting article I read in Entertainment Weekly, I believe. Worth checking out!

Yes... well it's kinda like Mark Spits and Micheal Phelps, who's the greatest swim/olympian etc etc etc... Star Wars is #1 to us cos... it just is. The debate can go on forever in that respect. In my mind it's what movie was the pioneer as well as the all mighty $ [face_money_eyes]. We can ALL agree that without Star Wars the effects we all know and love would be FAR less what we expected in both movies like Titanic AND Dark Knight. So many movies now would NOT even be possible at all that are on that list including all the Lord of the Rings, Spider-Man, Jurassic Park, 300, Iron Man, etc etc etc...

How did Shrek make it up there? That's just weird, I mean it's a good movie but not spectacullar...

Gee, that sucks (if Chris Nolan sticks to that). It would've have been cool to see that character's arch go even further. :(

But it looks like my Angelina Jolie idea might come true. =P~

According to Michael Caine (and MTV news), he's heard Johnny Depp will play The Riddler and/or Philip Seymour Hoffman will be The Penguin. Until it's offical from Warner Bros., I'll keep one eye open. ;) I never got to tell him at Comic-Con, but if they ever cast Robin, Thomas Dekker from The Sarah Connor Chronicles would be a good pick I think. Ironically, Christian Bale will be playing John Connor in the new Terminator film. :-B

Wouldn't Dekker be kinda old as Robin when the next Batman movie roles around? He's more like the Nightwing age. And which Robin do they go for, Dick Grayson or Jason Todd?

Jason Todd was killed by the Joker in Death in the Family, though. Then again Barbara Gordon was shot and paralyzed by the Joker also in Killing Joke.

Well, Dekker is playing John Connor as a 15 (now 16) year-old. Depending on when/if they make a Batman film with Robin, that would determine who they would cast. I'm sure they would go with Dick Grayson, whose the most recognizeable Boy Wonder, especially to those who grew up on the 60's series. Chris O'Donnell played Grayson in his late teens. Coincidentally (again), when they were casting Batman Forever, among the actors who auditioned were Ewan McGregor, Jude Law, and some guy named Christian Bale.

If that happened my brain would shut down for failing to compute the pure crazyness of cross universe character/actor swapping. Kinda like Terence Stamp being the voice of Jor El in Smallville, but who played General Zod in Superman II, along with Marth Kent in Smallville being the Original Lana Lang in Superman IV... ahhhhhhhh...... brain...... emploding......... ughhhhhhhh.......

Wow. I've got several of Kotobukiya's SW statues (still wanting the TIE Pilot & Luke Stormtrooper). The Dent statue is a good likeness of Aaron Eckhart.
