I keep waiting for the announcement of who will play Supergirl. If any DC character was referenced or foreshadowed in Man of Steel it was her.

I don't know. It already feels with DC trying to shoe horn as many Justice Leaguers as they can't, that Supergirl would seem like one character too many. Maybe wait years down the road for the solo MOS sequel?

I think we're sort of assuming that the open Kryptonian pod will directly lead to the "Wonder Woman Amazon background story" rather than Supergirl directly.

^I think they should throw Smallville fans a bone: Supergirl should be played by Tom Welling in a blond wig with enhancements.

It would be a CGI Tom Welling. :p

As for Supergirl, there was a Man of Steel prequel comic book that clearly noted that Kara Zor-El was in the Kryptonian pod that crashed on earth thousands years ago. Some have speculated that Kara was the first Amazon of Themyscira.

A few weeks ago, there was a report regarding the Batman v. Superman footage that would be revealed at this year's SDCC. Here's the report:

KDramaStars are reporting that what we’re set to see at Comic-Con, if not before, is going to look a little something like this:

Today, this video hit the web:

That is, in no way, real. The description may be (and it sounds cool), but the video is not.

Yeah, it's not real. SDCC is still a week plus away and it can't be "leaked" footage. Nice fan-film though.

Of course it's a fan made posted, Juliet. It's terrible, that's the give-away.

Doomsday in the Post Crisis continuity was a creature created on Krypton, around the second or third age. It was designed by an alien visitor named Bertron who wanted to create the ultimate living being. Though not said, it appears that his DNA was utilized to create Doomsday. Through forced evolution, the fetus evolved into Doomsday and then promptly killed Bertron and the other scientists, before stowing away aboard a supply ship. "All Star Superman" featured a Doomsday created from a formula developed by Leo Quintum to grant Kryptonian powers to humans, with Jimmy Olsen injecting himself and turning into the creature. Superman uses Black Kryptonite to restore him. In the DCAU, Doomsday was made from Superman's DNA obtained during one of the times he was injured in his own series, by Project Cadmus to use as a contingency following Superman's brainwashing by Darkseid in "Legacy". He was later locked in the Phantom Zone. "Smallville" had a Doomsday that was created from Zod and Faora's DNA and could switch back and forth from human Davis Bloome to Doomsday, before the two were separated using Black Kryptonite, with Davis being killed by Henry James Olsen to save Chloe's life and Doomsday being buried deep underground by Clark. The Post "Flashpoint" Doomsday was just an alien creature that arrived on Krypton and was subsequently locked in the Phantom Zone by Zod and Lara.

    Lex was never Doomsday.

Spit curl. It's not quite a requirement since other versions have been done without it.

Doomsday? No, that's not the proper explanation.

"Guys, we need a villain that can kill Superman. Any ideas?"
"Why not just pull something out of our ***?"
    "Sure. What've you got?"
    "Basically the Hulk, but grey."
    "...good enough."

And ironically, Hulk was originally Grey, but was changed to green due to grey ink bleeding through the old comic paper, or similar problem.

When Doomsday first appeared in the Man of Steel comic, Hulk had already gone through a major "grey Hulk" story line, so that disclaimer isn't even needed. (The green Hulk is the savage, unlimited strength persona. The grey Hulk keeps his cunning and intuition, but is weaker)

And Sinister, saying "forced evolution" is a bit kind, don't you think? It was that Doomsday who was forced for decades and decades to endlessly be killed as a baby to "learn from it's mistakes," right? I forget the reason though. Why did the scientist want to create such a being? Because you'd think that he would want to throw in some compassion and kindness as part of its development, instead of causing it to hate every living thing. And it was kind of funny how Doomsday was so unstoppable. Lets see. He turned Darkseid into a coward and then beat him up. Killed just about every Green Lantern. Defeated the combined Justice League. And then killed Superman.

This must be the summer for TV leaks. The Constantine pilot has leaked as well.

The gray color would look more like purple than gray. This was also an issue for Iron Man and why he was changed to gold.

The baby was sent outdoors where the hostile atmosphere would cause it to suffocate. Sometimes, though, the local animal population would tear it to shreds. The DNA would be collected and a new baby cloned from it. This went on for forty to fifty years before the end result was Doomsday.

Bertron's reasoning was that he wanted to create the ultimate living being. He just didn't think it through that once it could survive Krypton, that it would turn around and destroy its creators. Basically its the mad scientist trope.

Well, Darkseid wasn't afraid of him. He was just talked into backing down from him. He had yet to achieve the level of power that he has in the present day.

And they're writing out the female lead in favour of another female lead. A few people have commented that she's the weakest part of the pilot, apparently.

I, for one, am shocked, shocked, that what was easily the most off-putting aspect of the trailer turned out to be the worst part of the pilot.

Can't honestly say I'm surprised. She wasn't horrible, but the actress did seem to be the weakest part of this.

(It was up on YouTube last I checked)

The Constantine leak is thought to be intentional, as the word of them getting rid of the female lead is out so this gives people time to acclimate to just how bad she was supposed to be in it...

Yeah, intentional or not, their likely reshooting the pilot with the new actress, so NBC/WB probably isn't as pressed about hunting down those passing around the pilot like they were with those passing around The Flash pilot (Which was awesome.)

No, they're not reshooting the pilot. She's just gone after some amount of episodes...
