Yes! The trailer has actually gotten my hopes up, and we haven't even seen Aquaman or Wonder Woman. Good things are ahead, methinks.

I really don't think Ben Affleck is the right Batman, it's not like he hasn't played other superheroes before, and it turned out...

I think out of all the things to complain about this film from what we have seen, Ben Affleck as Batman isn't one of them.

Mate, we ****ing are. You're the one talking babbling nonsense about Affleck when you've not seen the film and what we have seen is the best looking Batman on film, ever.

    I mean, seriously.

Yep. No reason to discuss anything on a discussion board. Let's just wait and see. Yep...waiting...and seeing. Yeah.

This really strikes me as interesting. What about this reflects essential characteristics of Batman that you find exciting?

What part of "best looking Batman" did you struggle with?

It's a grey suit with black cowl, cape, and symbol.

It's very Jim Lee and Frank Miller, in other words:

Well, I just wasn't sure. Is it only the art design that you like? Or is it something that it implies about the character? Do you hope that this foreshadows a take on the subject that is similar to Miller's own?

All we have so far is that Affleck looks the most like Batman ever. And he is a huge Miller fan. Based on his recent performances, such as the Town and Argo, he's shown talent - there's literally no reason for pessimism other than Slowpoke can't make a fan trailer with him.

So I'm saying that I think based on what we've seen, and that Affleck is able to choose his roles after his new found glory in Hollywood, that there's every reason to be positive about the development and complaining about a film from 10 years ago which is redeemed in directors cut is idiotic. Plus, fans - the worst kind, who make fan posters and trailers - are persistently wrong when they're upset about casting choices.

Actually, Ender, I think the top image there is Tony Daniel's take on Bats, which is remarkable because I like that image but hate Daniel's artwork. And I definitely agree with you about Affleck's performances, but I'd cite Gone Girl and the moments of pent-up rage he's got there.

I'm really excited about this. I think pulling influences from Miller (but not outright adapting) is a great idea, and I think that even if they advertised this as a straight team-up, we'd still want Batman and Superman to go a few rounds.

Yeah you're right; I wanted that post from Lee's New52 run and it came up in the Google image search. but searching for that image confirms it is Daniel's art.

Thanks for adding nothing, but you're certainly witty!

I'm certainly looking forward to this, but I do worry that Zack Sneider is directing.

Was just about to link the video - the suit looks phenomenal! Very much in the vein of the Dave Johnson Batsuit, which just happens to be my favourite iteration of the suit :p

EDIT: Aw hell, I gotta link the video - the guy who gets to check out the Batmobile is 6'11", and that cockpit looks uncomfortable for him, so I doubt I'd ever fit.

I can't wait to see that suit in action. Seriously, I know everyone's been talking about the Miller influence, but that really strikes me as early-2000s Batman, when they were doing some really amazing work in the comics.
