Willem Dafoe cast in Justice League

Cool didn't know a thread like this existed on the JCF. Big DC fan, and Marvel too, but love the DC characters a lot more. Extremely disappointed with BvsS and movie universe setup thus far, but still very much enjoy the TV shows and cartoon movies.

Anyone else catch the Supergirl finale? Pretty good overall. Thought the fight scenes were pretty well done for a TV show and Supergirl gave a pretty nice speech in the beginning of the episode. Good showing in season one in my opinion, just need to work a few kinks out. For next season:

I wonder who or what was in the Kryptonian pod? I kind of want some non-Kryptonioan villain next year. Sort of like in season 3 of the Flash it would be nice if he doesn't face another speed force based villain.

I will also be interested how they mange to avoiding showing Superman in season 2. Such silly rules Warner Brother has, as if they re-cast him just for TV the company will go bankrupt or something.

 

Dessad is not a good guy, which is who Defoe is playing.

 

But if he did, he would be Dafoe of the Justice League.

 

Seems like Martian Manhunter is a popular guess on who he is playing. I would find that hard to believe since he plays a major part on Supergirl. Otherwise he would be regulated to "you just missed him" or only be able to text Supergirl on the show. Dafoe does sort of remind me of Elongated Man though. Then again he could just be playing a human character who helps the JL.

 

If Darkseid is villain maybe he's High Father or Orion?

 

If they're bringing New Genesis into this, then he could work in that regard. Beyond that it is hard to guess who from the DCU he would play.

As for Green Lantern, will we get someone other than Hal Jordan because of that movie's failure? Like Alan Scott or John Stewart?

 

I'm honestly pretty glad Grahame Smith is leaving because this would have been his first gig as director and I'd rather give it to a seasoned professional than this hacky writer turned director.

 

Why on earth was the guy behind the godawful Abe Lincoln vampire movie given the directing gig for this in the first place?

 

Probably either Trevor Noah or Stephan Col-*gets shot*

Why not just use Alan Scott if they want some old Lantern?

 

Because a) Alan Scott is part of the Justice Society of America and b) not part of the Green Lantern Corps.
