I think that people are overestimating how "dark" this movie is going to be. Favreau's has basically said as much himself. Heck if you went by the trailers, Iron Man 3 and Avengers: Age of Ultron would have seemed like these uber-dark and serious dramas. And, they weren't. Also, while I haven't read the book in awhile, I seem to recall it being "darker" than the Disney version.

    Mowgli: Hi! I'm Mowgli!
Shere Khan: My name is Shere Khan.
Mowgli: Shere Khan? That's a strange name.
Shere Khan: What were you expecting? Richard Parker?

^ ^ ^ That reminds me of the amusing coincidence between Life of Pi and Amazing Spider-Man, where the actor who plays the older Pi is also in ASM, talking about "Richard Parker" (the tiger and Pete's dad) in both films. It's kind of priceless.

I'm watching the IMAX version of Everest tonight and I hope the Jungle Book trailer plays before the film. From the comments I heard from Collider Movie Talk the other day, the panelists have head the "Bare Necessities" being whistled too. I wasn't looking to watch the Jungle Book at all, but the trailer has sold me on the film. I'm sure it will do better than Tomorrowland.

Am I crazy or was it not whistled at the end of the online trailer? Or is it different?

It was whistled in the trailer I watched on youtube. Thrice in a row.

EDIT TO ADD: False dichotomy. Also, you're crazy.

This movie will explain how a prey animal can stand next to its specific predator without provoking the instinctual drive to kill and devour. Rated G.

I'm almost expecting to see the fox don Robin Hood's costume and see Prince John in the form of a lion. :p

I haven't been this less excited for a Disney animation since Bolt.

Yes, I don't mind Bolt. But there was zero anticipation.

I didn't have any desire to see Bolt. So I didn't.

However, I do have an interest in Zootopia. Looks like a good ensemble cast set in an intriguing world.

Zootopia looks funny and I'll probably end up going to see it once it's out.

I noticed Alan Tudyk is voicing a character. I think this marks his 4th consecutive Disney animated/non-Pixar movie. I wonder if he's playing a villain or someone we'll think is a villain (like in Big Hero 6 initially).

And make that 5 consecutive, if it's true about him voicing a character in Moana.

Illogical mashup of non-contemporaneous animals is illogical.

Takes me right out of the moment, sorry.

How about Star Wars, with animals that never existed? ;)
