That's not new. That chatter has been going on since 2011 after Rise came out.

Well it's being called that, so.

Photo-realistic action isn't quite as catchy.

Be as that may be, I think its semantics. Stuff like that (such as Jungle Book 2016) are meant to be viewed in the context as a live action production. That's how its designed to look and act. That's how we relate to the story.

Mowgli and the other humans where played by real life actors, making it a special effect heavy live action movie.

I don't think anyone other than you gives a **** about this semantic argument, so.

We're getting into "tomatoes are fruit" stuff here. The movie is close enough to live action to fall under the banner of it. Movies use CGI all the time to create stuff we're supposed to "read" as live action.

What we have here is a failure to communicate.

As I said before, technicality that borders on OCD.

No, we do not. I see your point and completely disagree.

We have to disagree on this.

So, there's a report that Disney is having trouble casting for Aladdin. Although it's not true Mideastern casting, I would think Bollywood would be a source of actors that could both sign and dance, but perhaps Disney is looking for actors with more of an American accent. But I heard that this might be a ploy by Disney to push back the film so they could break their ties with Guy Ritchie, especially in the light of the failure of King Arthur: The Legend of the Sword. I had a hard time seeing Ritchie as the director of Aladdin to begin with.

I doubt Disney need an excuse, they can just tell him noooooooooooooope.

Ritchie is a bad idea, combined with Smith as the Genie and I can't really get excited about this, even though Aladdin is one of my faves. And I'm really not against these live action remakes. The Lion King is probably the best Disney Animated film for me, I love the stage production and I can't wait for the live action version.

I'm wondering who they're going to get for Scar. I have a couple ideas in mind: Hugh Jackman or Patrick Stewart, assuming, of course, that Jeremy Irons doesn't reprise the role.

If JEJ is reprising, you'd hope Irons would too. But then Zazu is recast unnecessarily so....

If Irons does not reprise the role, I'd like Tom Hiddleston to play Scar.

If I remember right so did Aladdin originally take place in China so why not have it take place in fairytail China. I suggest Jackie Chan for Jaffar.

If that were to happen, it would most likely alienate the fans of the animated film. Plus Disney does has Mulan in the works.

Sounds like Wreck-it Ralph 2 will have cameos by plenty of Disney princesses and Disney stuff in general (C-3PO cameo is confirmed too I think?). Sounds like they got every living voice actress of a Disney Princess back too (going back to Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast), which sounds really awesome. I hope they release that clip on the Internet sometime. Too bad the movie won't be out until next year.

Except all it would take is one shot of a non-computer generated landscape for it to qualify as a 'live-action film'. Odd hill for you to die on.

I resting that Mulan is pushed to 2018. Nutcracker is in 2018 though.

No release date of Jungle Book 2, The Little Mermaid or the newly cast Aladdin.
