I know there are some Rock/metals fans in here.
In today's Newsday (pg A10) I learned that The
Downtown has closed its doors. I'm shocked by
this since it's part owned by SAm Ash music stores.
I was told that last year. I've seen some great shows
there. 1st CBGB's in the city now this. What a bummer.

Yeah that sucks. Its the best club on Long Island. I guess that means the Exodus show in October isnt happening. Ive seen many great shows there. --Billy

    Oh man .....

well, one less place for Sharon Osbourne's egg-throwin' cronies to do their dirty deeds.

    Oh the puns ...

if it makes you feel better, for every action there's an equal and opposite reaction. A newer and better place will spring up and continue the Long Island rock legacy. And there's still the collectible's place across the street, right RnR??? :)

Sorry to hear the bad news but after seeing New Orleans in ruins, I can't seem to shed a tear right now. Maybe that's why I'm heading 2 fund raisers for Red Cross.

Anyway! My ears are still ringing from Gigantour at the beach. Symphony X did it for me but Megadeth popped my eardrums.

    TTYL fellas.

I wasn't much for Gigantour but to be fair, it's not my taste in music. I was there interviewing Megadeth's crew and then split after Nevermore (who were actually pretty good).

I was at the Gigantour as well. I was there for Megadeth who were very good. I didnt have any interest in the other bands. Dream Theatre was not a good match for this tour. --BIlly
