Mongul actually is Superman-level in strength, while Flord is... Class 50? Mongul's father beat (or was beating before Supes saved her, in that man who has everything comic) Wonder Woman. Doesn't seem at all a push to me.

And Mongul has an extremely potent long range blast that he emits from his chest.
Plus he apparently regularly converses with Despero.

I'm really arguing more than I thought I would here. I actually can't seem to remember a fight against anyone good that Flord has won. And he's a hero. Heros are supposed to win fights. But his record 1 on 1 against people holding back is about as good as Mongul's facing multiple high-tier foes that actually want to beat him.

 

Yak makes a compelling argument about actual results trumping potential strengths. Mongul

 

Update: It was MOngul Sr. Who fought Kyle and Supes, apparently. Not MOngul Jr. If that matters.

m'kay. I definitely would've said Firelord, but whatev.

Yeah, dunno quite yet where I lean on the first one, but I think I'm more or less set on the second.

I would've said Mongul. And the more I think about it, the more strongly I feel. But maybe that's just me.

 

I heard Sinestro once fought Superman. I don't know how the whole fight went but I heard Superman melted his ring off. I think Supergirl is stronger and holds back less... At least when Loeb is writing her (yay I mentioned a writer).

I'm staying out of that 2nd one for now.

Okay, I've thought about these long enough. It'd take quite a while to write out all my thoughts on these two matches, and right now, it's way too late to do so. But, if anyone is that curious about it, then say so and I'll do my best to condense it all down when I get a chance.

Anyways, what I eventually landed on was Supergirl and Annihilus, both by extremely small margins (Annihilus can definitely thank the prep).

 

Yeah, let's just go with that. I can live with that.
