The Hammerheads in the final battle are modified versions (or are different variants) of the ones in Rebels.

They have 4 engines instead of three, have Wedge shaped things coming out the sides similar to those seen on the sides of Blockadge runners. The side docking hatches also have something attached to them.

Also there are Blue Painted Blockade Runners in the fleet, similar to the ones seen in Admiral Sato's fleet in Rebels.

This image is from the official website, not bootleg footage

I think Sato might have been hidden on Yavin IV somewhere. I bet we'll find him when we get our hands on the film out of theaters. There was one Rebel in the headquarters who I thought might have bared a resemblance, but going from animation to film extra we'll never know unless someone confirms it.

    This!

I brought this up in another thread - He is like a way better design of the Guavian Death Gang members! I saw him in the visual dictionary and scanned every background scene in the film on Jedha trying to find him with no luck :( Best design since Boba Fett and Kylo Ren imo! I think we must have similar tastes Ed.

CR70 actually. The CR90 was the Tantive IV. Different model. Also repaints are a thing. There is actually a good chance that the Sundered heart IS one of Sato's ships. He is funded by Bail right? Bail likely would have just given him the ship when he got a newer model.

Also, that was Mark Hamill that one time over the intercom at the Alliance Headquarters saying "may the force be with you", right? if so, that was my favorite easter egg/cameo.

Take a look at this: http://www.starwars.com/news/the-star-wars-rebels-easter-eggs-and-connections-in-rogue-one

They are the same Hammerheads from Rebels.

I know, that is where I got the original image from.

I was saying they seem to have have been modified between Rebels and Rogue One.

So, the leader of Blue Squadron in Rogue One is General Antoc Merrick

In the legends game, Rebel Assault, the leader of Blue Squadron is Merrick Simms.

    Coincidence or a nod?

Almost certainly a nod - good find!
Edwards is a huge Star Wars fan - I bet he played Rebel Assault back in the day.

    Of course it's Photoshop.
That picture has Youtube compression artifacts, so it's safe to assume that it's from one of the trailers (most likely the first teaser, which featured that shot). Had Jar Jar been in there in that shot, you think there wouldn't have been a hundred articles about it for the past, what, eight months or so? :p

It's a funny picture though, and quite good Photoshopping.

my favorite cameo in Rogue One has to be without a doubt Red Leader, Garven Dreis!!!!:D
one thing I always said I wanted to see in RO given it's proximity to ANH is those dead pilots from ANH.

and Red Leader, along with Biggs were always my favorite from the dead pilots.
Dreis the almost hero of ANH, who almost destroyed the Death Star and was the proof that Galen's revenge was only doable with the power of the force.

Was he? I thought he was going to do whatever he was going to do originally (presumably escort the Tantive IV) and then makes an off-screen decision to go to Scariff. I'd need to watch it again though..

I like how on one of the little holographic images of the Death Star the laser was on the equator. Nice call back.

I know some hate Ponda Baba and Cornelius Evazan being in the film and that it's forced.
but I thought it was funny and connects with ANH.

he warns Jyn/Cassian to watch themselves and lets it slide,
since we know him and his friend are bullies. The next time, he tries to bully someone and make himself look all threating, they both get it good through Kenobi.[face_laugh]

I know this isn't an Easter Egg but I didn't see a "Things You Missed on First Viewing" thread, but after seeing it twice I didn't see anywhere that the Death Troopers actually used the green LED lights that are in the bottom of their helmets. I even looked hard during the scene on Eadu which would have been the perfect time to use them, yet the ones I was able to notice weren't on. I'm sure they were used at some point or another since there's so much marketing that shows them in use and probably ended up on the cutting room floor.
