Has anyone bought or just watched the new "Monty Python's The Meaning of Life" Special Edition DVD? I'm reading horrible things about the quality of the disc - bad transfer, even blurry at times, horrible artifacting, skipping, just nothing but bad stuff. Granted, this is the same company that screwed up the Back to the Future box set. I had hoped to add TMOL to my collection, but now I'm scared to waste my money.

 

Anybody going to the UNC/ECU game today? I managed to snag a couple of tickets at the last minute, so now I can watch my 'Heels! We're sitting right in the Pirate Club section, so it'll be great to antagonize everyone with my blue and white!

You know, it would be difficult for me to watch a movie in that home theater, as I would be too busy pretending to be aboard the actual Death Star.

Is anyone else having trouble with their posting on these forums for the last couple of days? Everytime after I click the "Post" button, the next page comes up "page unavailable." The posts are being accepted and are posting fine, it's just I have to click "back" several pages to get back to the forums. Everything I "refresh" after posting just comes up unavailable.

 

I've been having that same trouble for a while now. I'm not sure what it is from though. I've just been hoping that I don't get a double post.

My trouble just started about two days ago. I'm pretty sure I sent JMK three of the same PM's today by accident. I guess I'm gonna give it another day or two to see it it quits.

 

I had that problem a couple of days ago. It seems to have stopped for the moment.

Whatta poopy weekend. My wife and I have both been sick the last few days and I think my daughter may be catching it. On Friday night as I was booting my computer, an error message pops up saying that I am missing some critical .dll files in Windows, so Windows and Explorer do not load. My CD-ROM drive will not read my Windows recovery CD, so I'm screwed. I go out Saturday to get a lens cleaner for the drive and that seems to work. But now I can't get another copy of Windows to load on top of the old one. I do not want to lose my old information on my hard drive, so I'm desperately trying to figure out how to avoid that. But sufficeth to say, that after two hours on the phone with Dell tech support, I end up reformatting my hard drive to reinstall Windows, resulting in losing everything. I was smart enough to back up a few things, but I still ended up losing some graphics and lower thirds that I had been working on for some video projects. I hate Windows.

 

The Yoda Lightspeed passes are starting to arrive. I got mine today and ordered 4 of the Christmas Yodas. I didnt get last years so maybe I can trade with someone.

Cool - I got my pass sometime last week, but I changed my mind about Yoda and decided I didn't want it anymore. It's a nice figure, but I just wanted to save my money this time.

I got my starwarscards.net postcards today! They're actually pretty cute. But I demand a re-draw Dale! I really wanted to win Galaxies!

 

Sign-ups for trivia contest #8 are going on in the Classic Trilogy forum. They need 15 people to start and are about halfway there. You can read the rules, the prize, the punishment, and all that stuff on the first page of the thread. Unfortunately I cannot defend my title as I expect to be away from the computer for a few days next week. It's still a lot of fun, especially if you like going through the minute details of the SW Universe. All questions stay within the timeframe that runs from ANH to ROTJ.

 

I saw Elf over the weekend. If anyone wants to see an absolutely hilarious film, I highly recommend it! I haven't laughed that hard in a theater since There's Something About Mary. Will Farrell continues to crack me up with everything he does.

 

My parents are coming in from Texas this Sunday and I will be taking the week after Thanksgiving off. Hopefully I'll be able to check out Elf then.

I believe we are going to attempt to take my almost 3yr old son to see Brother Bear. He so awesome!!!!!!!!!

Well I'm back from New Orleans - a little more relaxed if not necessarily any richer. Texas Hold'em and Blackjack were good to me. The slots were good to my wife. But Caribbean Stud Poker kicked my @ss and I am not pleased about it. When it was all said and done, I broke even at the casino. Still had a great time, ate some great food, drank a great amount of great beer, and saw some old friends I hadn't seen in a couple of years. Bourbon Street smells like stale beer 24/7. I probably wouldn't have noticed that ten years ago since that's what my college apartment probably smelled like. But now it's almost nauseating.

 

Stale beer and urine, and during Mardi Gras I was knee deep in it, and not caring at the moment.

 

Ugh. I can't move. I spent Saturday moving furniture, a refrigerator, and finally a piano. I was kind of hoping that going to the ViQuest Center had at least gotten me in a little better shape, so this sort of thing wouldn't be so painful. I knew it was going to be a long day when my brother-in-law said his handcart was broken, so we'd be moving all this stuff by hand. Must find jacuzzi tub . . .

 

Some of you have met Tommy, some of you haven't. But I think most of you know that quite a while ago, he broke his leg rather badly in a couple of places which is the main reason he has only been able to make one meeting. He just wasn't very mobile. Recently he has made good progress and has been getting around rather well though with some lingering pain. While he has gotten significantly better, the bone healing has not been exactly as it should be and the doctors have tried to help the bone regrowth with bone stimulators and a massive magnet worn around his leg. (There's a big steel rod running down his leg now which is what the magnet was for). Anyway, Tommy went back in for a surgery on Friday. He said it was to be a day procedure where a screw in his leg would be removed, adjusted, or something in hopes of helping his healing. So unfortunately he's back to a little immobile for a while and won't be able to join us Sunday. I plan to call him Saturday to see how he's doing, but I see he's at least well enough to be posting today, so that's a good sign. Get well man!
