I could just imagine the thud Palpatine makes as he hits the ground. At least he finally got was coming to him. Whew! I thought for a minute there that Anakin was going to fall back to the dark side, you really kept me guessing as to how Palpatine was going to die.

And your right, all good things must come to an end.

Wow! That was an amazing battle scene. Liked the touch of having Padme's declaration of her love for Anakin being the key to release his Force abilities. Nicely done. Look forward to the next installment!

 

It is so wonderful how the power of Padme's love allowed Anakin to overcome the darkness. I just hope that they will both be okay.

widow_skywalker: It's me, evil cliffs are a must! As for James Bond, the problem is Sony did not consult with me. If they had, Ewan would be Bond. Oh well, guess I'll have to go watch 'Down With Love.' Not my favorite movie, but he does wear a tuxedo and drinks a vodka martini, so its the closest I'm going to get at this point.

Amidala66: The problem with the sequel is it has to have a villian for it to work, and I killed of Sidious, so that limits what I can do. Then once I have a villian, I need to give him or her something to do, and that is why there is currently no sequel. I have an initial idea for a problem, but I don't have enough ideas to further that problem and create a story equal to this one.

To Everybody: I was going to wait another day to post Chapter 34, but I'm not going to have time to post it. So you guys are in luck, its written, and you can have it today.


Chapter 34: The Galaxy is Freed

Padmé slowly regained consciousness. She did not know where she was; all she was aware of was that every part of her body was in intense pain. She groaned and turned her head to the right to see if she could figure out where she was.

It appeared that she was in some sort of grand room, but she had no memory of this room. She shifted her body and groaned again as her muscles cried out in pain. She gingerly turned towards her left to take in more of this strange room. She gasped when her eyes fell on the unconscious form of Anakin.

Suddenly memories of past events flooded her mind, and she recalled where she was. She quickly looked around the room for any sign of Sidious, but he was nowhere to be seen. Her eyes moved to the remnants of the shattered window, and she saw a lightsaber hilt split into two resting among the broken glass. She smiled, as it appeared that Anakin had won.

Padmé slowly sat up, and called out to him, ?Anakin.?

There was no answer, so Padmé moved closer to him and called his name again, ?Anakin.?

Again, there was no response, so Padmé gently shook him while she called his name again, ?Anakin.?

However, Anakin did not move. Padmé started to become concerned, and she shook him more vigorously and called out his name louder, ?Anakin!?

Anakin remained still, and he did not respond to Padmé. She desperately gazed down at him as her mind processed terrible thoughts

 

*Sigh* I am all floaty now, with this chapter. The right amount of sorrow, mush, and kissing. *sigh*

I am really sad to see this wrapping up, jmsbndgrl. Hopefully you will have more fics for us to enjoy in the future. If so, PM me when you post, please!

*looks around, puts Down With Love in dvd player, and sighs at what could have been...*

 

?I love you.? Padmé replied.

?I know.? Anakin said with a smile, before pulling Padmé to him for another kiss.

I just read everything here in one sitting!

This is a great story, perfectly written! They start out as enemies and slowly grow to love each other, I dig these kinds of stories.

I love this and I hope you continue writing it
