All Imperials we have seen (excluding spies, bounty hunters, etc) have been caucasian males.

Does that mean the empire is racist and only recruits humans? If so, why did Sidious have a Zabrak apprentice in Ep1? Could it be because Zabrak is near human? Or did Sidious blame Maul's species for his faults? Resulting in an all-human empire.

Palps doesn't mind using aliens as pawns. Maul, the Nemodians, Geonosians.

    Well, you have to realize that being Force-sensitivity plays a lot into being chosen as an apprentice. It is possible that Palpatine found Maul and saw the potential in him - who knows, it is entirely possible that the Dark Side "clicked" inside him when he saw baby Maul. 8-}

There is also the possibility that Palpatine's view of humans is something he developed later, after he took Maul as his apprentice - a.k.a., something might have happened during the Clone Wars era that made him loathe non-human species.

I have observed the racial segregation of imperial officers. It is a pity, all men are created equal but not all men can serve as Imperial officers? I hope this trend will halt in ep 3.

Well the Empire obviously discriminates against non-humans, they even enslaved several alien species

I don't know about the racial segregation but it wouldn't shock me

But I think it only helps gives us an idea of what kind of organization the Empire is, it helps us know that they are discriminators and overall bastards

I think it would be good if they did show some of this explicitly. It could show how scaremongering, bigotry and loss of freedom go hand-in-hand with this kind of political regime. Not that anyone really needs to be told that...

The Emperor (and thus the Empire) was very prejudiced against non-humans. They were only used when it suited Palpatine's purposes, or they were exceptionally skilled.

As far as the films go, look at them in order.

TPM & AOTC- no particular pattern regarding men, women, white, black, human or aliens.

AOTC- lots and lots of white men are being manufactured.

ANH, ESB, ROTJ- Empire is entirely made up of white men.

You don't need to put discrimination in there to make an explanation...

    Somerandom_Nerd:

TPM and AOTC - there is no Empire in the two movies.

AOTC - they're manufacturing the clones of one white man - of course they're all going to be while.

ANH to ROTJ - agreed on this part.

Alot of you do agree that he is...speciest. So why did he have a Zabrak apprentice? Did he turn "speciest" after Maul's death?

Maybe the Emperor himself isn't discriminatory, but one of his High-Ranking right hand men are...possibly say, Tarkin?

Well, we do have to remember that while Palpatine was descriminatory in his practices, he also didn't hold back in employing non-humans (Thrawn) and females (Daala) if they actually had talent. So it's possible that he took Maul as his apprentice because he knew of Maul's potential in the Dark Side of the Force.
