The only reason that I know about Mr Pink-whistle is that my mother brought me the stories. He goes around country fixing wrongs and solving mysteries. He has a black cat that helps him. I liked the books. He is half fairy so can become invisible, which helps when catching the bad guy.

Enid Blyton was one seriously twisted lady. Once, I was trying to find something to read to my 5 year old cousin, and I found an anthology of Enid Blyton's bedtime stories. I flicked through it, and every single story seemed to be about someone getting spanked.

Maybe I'm too PC or something, but no way was I reading that. And then there were the Noddy books, which they had to republish, because of all the references to Noddy and Big Ears getting into bed together.

Still, I remember enjoying the famous 5's and secrets sevens. Those were pretty normal, I think.

ok, scrolled down a little further in her book list....damm she wrote a lot of books!

    Mr Pink-Whistle Series
    The Adventures of Mr Pink-Whistle
    Mr Pink-Whistle's Party
    Mr Pink-Whistle Interferes
    Mr Pink-Whistle Has Some Fun

Half man-half pixie, Mr Pink-Whistle can make himself invisible. He is kind at heart, and goes around putting wrongs to right, often with hilarious results. Funny adventures for young readers.

its not really what I had in mind though, i was thinking a little bit older than that, but you can have it if you want

Back to the question at hand
    Q. Which Country or Region initiated the use of time?

    A. Now that depends on what you define as time.
but, the Sumerian culture in now Iraq was the first to use the day clock about 6000 yrs ago
But the calander was in use before then ice-age hunters gouged bone to record laspe of days about 20,000 yrs ago.
But I am sure Lucy and tribe mates noticed the passing of day and years. And that was 3.2 million yrs ago. Maybe even the dinosaurs noticed. Then you have to take in acount alien life forms. hummmmmm, vague question but I think this anwsers it as best as poss.

    Q. What is a good pavlova recipe.

I'll have to find a recipe for that, I know it's vital to leave the pav in the oven to cool otherwise it turns to custard. They're kinda hard to make and probably why have never tried. I'v got good cookie recipes though.
