The EU character in ROTS...

Ok, surely someone remembers everything that was said about an EU character in EPIII. It wasn't Aalya. I couldn't figure out who it was, or if the character got cut, and I never heard who the character was supposed to be in the first place. So who was it?

It was supposed to be Quin, but he got cut. Didn't stop them from blowing him away in the comic, though. Dead like that, without even a movie cameo out of it...

Salporin's also in it, as is Attitchituk (or whatever-- Chewie's pops). Those two were probably just costumes named after that fact though. Quin was *the* EU character that was talked about.

 

Quinlan? Aw nuts. He's not technically even an expanded universe character to begin with.

Whie from Dark Rendezvous made an appearance via holorecording.

It was either in the recent insider or and Entertainment weekly which has a little article on the wookies that will be seen in ROTS. Salporin is one of faces named.

 

True, and I loved that, but Whie, like Ackbar and Boba Fett before him, was a film character first.

Entertainment Weekly for Salporin, I believe. Some kind of photo spread. Itchy is named in the VD.

And for the eight millionth time, Whie is not the danged EU character. He was created for the film and expanded on in the EU prior to the film, like Grievous, Dooku, Ki Adi Mundi, and a bunch of other characters.

 

I just looked through the Visual Dictionary, and I didn't see any mention of Itchy.

I imagine that if he was in the film, he would've rather stuck out, unless he grayed that much in 20 years. And I'd think that it takes much longer than that, since the VD hints about Wookiees' ages in that some remember when Yoda was a mere Jedi knight.


And about Quin...was his stuff ever shot, or was it just scripted? I'd love to see pictures if they exist.

 

Might've been the ICS that had Itchy, then. I think he was just mentioned as the pilot of an ornithopter.

There are animatics of Quin's death, but it was never filmed.

 

Although Itchy appears in the ICS, I don't think he actually appears in the movie. I looked as the Catamaran flew by, but couldn't see him (or anyone else) sitting in the back.

technically -- i thought it was agreed upon that the EU character was GG.

he was the only one never seen in any of the other PT flicks -- from a certain point of view.

 

General Grievous? How on earth is he an EU character?

The wookie standing by chewie was not Attitchituk in epIII. i cant remember his name but yoda called him something else

i do remember he was in Star Wars:Republic Commando

 

I think his name was Tarfull or something like that.

 

General Tarfful. The VS lists the remaining Wookiees as Guanta, Lachichuk and Merumeru. Itchy was added to the ICS but doesn't appear in the movie itself.

Salporin was in ROTS... as one of the many Wookiee warriors. His costume was on display along with Chewie's and Tarfful's at C3. When asked about it at the continuity panel, it was revealed that basically they needed Wookiee names to go with the costumes and started pulling from the EU. While it certainly would make sense that Chewie's friend Salporin would be involved in the same battle as Chewie, there's no conclusive proof that this Salporin is the same as Chewie's friend Salporin from the EU.

So why doesn't Chewbacca dress like the other Wookiees?
