Relax, guys. We'll get started soon enough. There's only one spot left and I'm sure it'll be snatched up by the time Corran pops back up again.

I'm pretty confident due to the relatively high draft newbie turn out! We are kinda lacking judges though...

Judges won't be announced until Corran posts. :)

Judges PM Corran first, and then he'll announce who they are later.

    EDIT: Yeah. That too. :p

Corran needs judges to actually PM him before he can announce them... [face_plain]

This is what we waited on last draft. Everyone wanted to play, no one judge

Well the ones that have done both say GMing is better.

That and judging requires a lot of knowledge on a lot of people in order to do an adequate job.

To GM all you really need is knowledge on your team.

I could never judge. All I know is Carth > Ooryl lol

Judging sure wasn't for me. I mean, I liked it, but GMs can be mean. :p

GMs questioning every decision you make comes with the territory. You take the good, you take the bad, you take the... something... and there you have the facts of life. The facts of life.

    :p

You also take the JC drama, which includes, "Obviously you people don't know anything. Let me know when the next draft is. Hopefully with different judges."

    :p

There's been at least one of those in like the least three SFDs. ;)

That's when people take the drafts too seriously.

Also when the GM and the Judge should probably take it to PMs. But that's IMO. *shrug*

I would have *loved* it if someone had PMed me with questions. :p No one ever did though.

On the bright side, being a judge is a really nice position, and it's fun kind of being above all of the squabbling. It was certainly easier.

And you probably would have shown them your love by clubbing them? [face_beatup]

I think PMing a judge is valid if it's out of curiosity, anything else might hurt your chances in a close match.

Quite a simple answer actualy (and one I think Jaina will find amusing):

On Monday my hard drive crashed. :p I bought a new one and am using it, but until last night I didn't have any time to even turn on my computer.

And how did I know that the Draft was going to start this week? ;) :p

Well the ones that have done both say GMing is better.

That's true. When you're GMing your really in the game. Your constantly on guard. You have to be careful about what you say about other teams because they may end up fighting you later on. It's very much like politics :p It however can be very intese and sometimes stresfull (See: Thrawn vs. Durron Round 1).

Being a judge is very different. As Jaina said, your above the petty fights, which makes the Draft less interesting. And all you really need to do is make sure you check in for judging. Also, once you have to judge really close battles where quite honestly both deserve to win, you feel really bad for the person you vote against, because they deserve to win just as much as the other person. Of course, after last Draft, I don't feel bad at all for voting against Durron durring the final match of Draft III :p 8-} ;)
