That's all well and good, provided one keeps some kind of firewall between fun speculation and serious expectations. Many folks do, but some do not...and the results of that are potentially very unpleasant. Thus, the occasional nose tweak from someone like Pablo, to keep things in perspective.

That would be interesting. I've always wondered if they came from an Order that had views more in line with something like the Bendu before fracturing and becoming extreme sides of the same coin. either way I have the feeling we're all in for something special.

Do you think the Porgs will tweet or will they be like Pokemon and just say there names over and over again? I was gutted when they turned Snarf into a pokemon type of character when in the original episodes in Thundercats he spoke properly.

hana_solo Yeah, I don't think Luke is going to follow the Bendu. I wondered about that after seeing the Bendu and then the TLJ teaser, but I'm beginning to think Luke has discovered something no one else ever has...not even the ancient Jedi. I do wonder, though, if the Jedi and Sith originally were one Order... something along the lines of the Bendu before fracturing internally and becoming the Jedi and Sith Orders. I think that would be a cool origin story for both orders.

 

Rabs Agreed. "It's so much bigger" but in what way? if they are indeed going with some type of a Creation story here, what will be created?

 

It's ironic all the crap Lucas got for the Ewoks and that was one instance of appealing to 5 year olds in 6 films now disney is pretty much going full tilt first with BB-8 and now with random Minions knock-offs and fans are already eating it up. I think for some people Disney can literally do NO wrong.

Isn't this supposed to be the dark entry into the ST? Feels very out of place and corny.

BB-8 IS adorable without looking out of place, like the *shudder* demonic teddy bears...

 

How is BB-8 an example of them going full tilt anymore than R2? I think BB is great and I'm certainly not 5 years old. And it's not Disney creating these characters, it's LF.

 

Has anyone said this is going to be "dark"?
