Not many. I bet they're all dead.

 

Not I, nor anyone in our household.

I should note, in the interest of accuracy, we later switched to a hot air popper similar to this:

 

Yep, had that popper.

It's probably still up in the attic somewhere...

19 days until FORCE AWAKENS. Good time to bring out anything retro Star Wars....Which is pretty much everything...

 

Funny how back then they marketed to the buyers (parents) as much as they did the kids. Now they cut out the middle man. "Hey kids! Yeah YOU! YOU need these toys! Go and beg your parents for them!"

 

It was interesting too how in a lot of the 80's toy commercials they used to have parents playing with the toys with the kids.

 

There's even this Transformers commercial with Alex Karras:

 

Drinking water out of a garden hose provided us Gen-Xers with all the cancer fighting chemicals we needed.

 

I remember when I was a young kid and the year the movie E.T. came out, there was a commercial with E.T, in it coming to some kid's house for Christmas, and in my little kid logic, I thought it meant that E.T. would be coming to my house for Christmas as well. I would tell my brother and sister this, enough to the point my parents had to tell me he wasn't coming to our house for Christmas.

And the commercial it was for was the craptastic Atari 2600 E.T. video game? The truth behind memories suck sometimes.

 

My MEMBERS ONLY jacket was black. Cuz I was cool.

 

Never did have a Members Only jacket, but I did have a Detroit Tigers satin jacket when I was 8.

 

You mean something like a jacket from the company called Starter?

I had a 49ers Starters jacket. They recently revived those jackets by selling replicas.

 

Ugh, a kid who bullied me throughout my middle and high school years had one of those, and it was weird he'd be a 49ers fan, since we lived in Michigan and all. Not saying it was Detroit Lions or nothing, but with the other teams in the Midwest, it's shocking he had to root for a team from all the way out on the West Coast.

But who am I to talk, when I owned a Raiders T-shirt just because I thought their logo looked cool?
