WOW! I finally saw Fantastic Four and all I can say is it was "FANTASTIC"!

    American Cinema is NOT dead!

This movie, with all it's special effects and CGI, still was a character driven movie where the actors were not lost in all the "Eye Candy". One of my big regrets from episodes I and II were that the special effects, it seemed to me, were the stars. It wasn't until Episode III that the characters, most especially Obi-Wan Kenobi, outdid the effects.

    Truly a remarkable achievement.

    Peace,

    Edric

Well, you're first in our book, Jammies. In fact one might say that you're our Wilhelmus for model-building and such.

Did you all see the Southpark episode with "it."

"It" looked like a cross between an E-Bay commercial and a knock-off of General Grevious wheelbike. I, due to the TOS, can no longer describe how to operate "it."

My description will make Ulkesh proud.

Okay, I now know why there was no "War of the Worlds" discussion here (aside from the boards needing CPR).

I finally saw it tonight and it was just pretty crappy.

Yeah, it could've been directed by Spielberg, released in summer, not had a Kovall-damned thing to do with the actual "War of the Worlds", and starred Tom Cruise.

    Oh wait :(

^^I actually liked the movie. But, alas, it was not as good as the original. I did like seeing the two leads from the 1950's version in cameos.

Okay, so, I've been working on a project with some friends that has had me distracted - in a good way. Therefore, I decided to spend Saturday night in a very dark room and listned to the soundtrack from my second favorite movie of all time...THE LABYRINTH.

Anyho, it helped me to enter a state of deep meditation that led to some rather insane dreams involving a beautiful, raven haired girl - a pizza joint - goblins - and David Bowie Singing "Underground" via an arcade game table top version of Asteroids.

    Please...Discuss.

Ya know, Edric...you might want to see a therapist. I'm not sure we're qualified to handle....issues of your level. But if you want an analysis of the dream:

The woman represents your mother, the pizza joint signifies your desire for acceptance, the goblin is a subsititue for Stackpole, and David Bowie hints at your repressed sexuality.

The Asteroids machine just means you're a geek like the rest of us.

    Cheers.

    ^^

    Preacherman:

Actually, the woman represents my soul mate whom I've only met in dreams.

I think that David Bowie just was there for atmosphere.

Otherwise, you ain't too bad at dream analysis.

    Peace,

    Edric

    Hmmm...[face_thinking]

Saturday night alone in the dark playing a soundtrack from the 1980s. Dreaming of a shared moment with a raven haired woman with goblins under foot. Serenading this tragic scene is David Bowie from his post-Ziggy days.

    Hmmm...[face_thinking]

You know you can wake up blind after the activities you've so quaintly described. But hey that's OK. Maybe eyesight is over rated.

    [face_hypnotized]

    PS:

I am searching for a poem by H.W. Longfellow called "The Occultation of Orion". Would anyone know of a collection of his work that may, perchance, have it?

    Thanks,
