The mirrors as well...how threepio is created like vader and becomes "a god" when Anakin returns to the light etc

 

True, there is a lot to say, also considering how much they drive the story in ANH.

I hadn't thought about Leia owning the droids, that's a good point. Kinda trippy, isn't it?

Can you expand on the mirroring? I can see there is a similarity in Vader and C-3PO's first steps, but I'm not sure on anything further than that.

Kind of an obvious point; I like the fact that R2 keeps his memory. It makes me like the character even more.

I guess in TPM we get Annie and Threepio as not the finished article, in Clones they both have new coverings but also take a dark turn (tusken slaughter and geonosis arena). In Sith they aare both finally in their element, serving a senator and being a Jedi Knight only to end up with their personality altered by the end of the film.

In the OT both are in unnatural environments until Jedi when Threepio becomes a.God and saves his friends and so does Anakin.

 

Interesting. It's a good analogy. I can especially see them as "incomplete" in TPM.
Anyway, do you have any comments about the Obi-Wan post? What should I add?

A couple to add I did in the visual storytelling thread:

Raising his saber pre death in ANH matches your other ones

ANH looking across at Luke during fight with Vader and similarily looking at high ground versus Vader in Sith.

Drinking in cantina in both trilogies

 

I couldn't find a shot of Obi-Wan drinking in ANH, but these other two are good ideas.

ROTS-
BAIL ORGANA: Now that he has control of the Jedi Council, the Chancellor has appointed Governors to oversee all star systems in the Republic.

OBI-WAN: The Chancellor will not be able to control the thousands of star systems without keeping the Senate intact.


ANH-
TARKIN: The Imperial Senate will no longer be of any concern to us. I've just received word that the Emperor has dissolved the council permanently. The last remnants of the Old Republic have been swept away.

TAGGE: That's impossible! How will the Emperor maintain control without the bureaucracy?

TARKIN: The regional governors now have direct control over territories. Fear will keep the local systems in line. Fear of this battle station.
