Hello everyone. I hope you don't mind me intruding in here, but I saw that you defend the Expanded Universe and as a part of your alerts is about the validity and canonicty of the EU.

Although, it was on an entirely different message board, I recently stated that the Ewok films were "C-Level Canon" as written by Lucas Licensing. Then things got rough as purists arrived and completely denounced the system.

I quickly tried to debate, but they are not budging, and neither was I. Sensing a possible stalemate, I attempted to back down, but they pressed their offense.

I am wondering, what are things I can say to attempt to prove my case, if any?

 

Ewoks are G-Level as they appear in ROTJ

the cartoons etc are C-level as they fall under the EU banner


Caravan of courage etc should be expunged from memory


I'll have a quick butchers and see what I can do though!

Personally I think the whole idea of putting people into categories is a little silly. Different people can choose to accept and believe different parts of the storyline and the EU, and everyone gets what they want out of Star Wars and enjoys it in their own way. That's part of the beauty of it.

It frustrates me that my brother didn't like Episode III, but I'm not going to try and force him to like it if he prefers to live in other parts of the EU.

 

My sister's ex-boyfriend gave me I, Jedi, Solo Command, and Iron Fist.

Probably in LoE, which I started reading last night...and got thru Chapter 6 tonight.

It mentioned that OB1 and Ani were away from Coruscant for the last 4 months...and the book is supposed to lead right up to the Opening Crawl.

On a side note...sometime soon, there might be a roster shake-up. The Command Staff is discussing it as a possibility.

The discussions will include Squadrons and Promotions, among other things.


From this moment forward...talking about Rank could be seen as a deterrent from being promoted.


Bugging for promotions, tends to get you put on the backburner.



And to the Cadets and those waiting...please be patient...we have 3 Trainers, but one is out for the next 3 weeks.

So that leaves us 2 trainers...and they are working their tails off to get things done quickly.


I have commissioned the Training Corp to discuss possible candidates to help out...


Volunteers would be looked at first.

 

Yes, to J-Sat, you listen. He speaks for the entire Command Staff with everything he mentioned in his last post about rank / promotions. At this time we ask you all to please be patient with us; all will fall into place in due time, we assure you.

 

If you think I'm capable of the job, I wouldn't mind taking it on, Sat. But keep in mind that my knowledge of the EU kind of stopped after the release of Traitor.
