    Queen Gossamer
    Palace of Queen Gossamer, Alfheim

Her attendants stepped back. Queen Gossamer now had everygreen garland, wrapped around her bodice. Her blue wings, had a silver sheen to them, and with every flicker, a faint shimmer enveloped the air around her. She smelled of lilac and evergreen as she flapped her wings. Queen Gossamer smiled.

Soon, the Queen was ready, and with a cloak of flower petals placed upon her shoulders, she was ready to depart. A tiny gold and red pixie dragon soared down, and landed on her arm. "Greetings, dearest Elsie." she said, as the tiny dragon, curled up and all but purred on her shoulders, folding her multi-colored wings around her tiny body. Gold eyes looked on Gossamer, as two smaller green orbs gently encircled her. With a nod to the guards, they continued on, as they headed for her coach. This night, the crystal coach, with Elsie at the head, would be the one she would chose. The company made their way down the steps. Elsie lept from her perfect perch, and moved, to her appointed place, growing just a bit bigger, in order to handle the coach. The coach, looked like the crystals that lined the Queens clothing. It had a hint of blue to it, but when the lights reflected from it, it seemed to bloom into many colors of the rainbow. And in the moonlight, the subtle colors could been seen.

Many bowed low, or cooed softly, as the saw the Queen enter the carriage. Her guards moved to stand their place around it, and the four orbs that floated nearby also posted. Elsie dipped her head, slipping on the reings as her wings spread wide. A few last minute touch ups, and the Queen was ready to leave. But she held her hand. She turned, looking down towards the main area expectantly.

She smiled, as she soon saw Karlen'ae heading her her direction. But the young knight was nowhere to be seen. Queen Gossamer, shook her head slightly, and then turned towards her guard.

"Once my consort joins us, we shall be leaving."

With a simple gesture, the door to the coach opened, as she waited for Karlen'ae to join her. Soft music filled the coach, and Gossamer smiled.

    A grand night indeed.

    Gorroc Tretuum
Darkling Realm - Urgan - (Dark Realm)

Gorroc watched as the black messenger disappeared. Gorroc grabbed the pouch as one of the other Orcs with him spoke.

"Give pouch. WE TAKE to Crunch." One of them, muttered to Gorroc, his war axe in his hands.

"No, you won't," Gorroc snarled back at him. "Crunch gave this mission to me, not you. I will deliver the pouch to him. If you want to make a big deal about this, Death could always use two more souls, though I don't know what yours are good for." As he spoke, Gorroc let his free hand fall to the hilt of his sword.

One Orc smacked the other one, and that Orc turned, and backhanded the Orc that had hit him. With a snarl, he then charged, Gorroc, his war axe in his hand swinging, as he looked forward to taking this uppty Orc's life. The prize WOULD be his.

    "DOG!"

As he attacked the other Orc stood back up, whipping his mouth, while drawing his weapon. He watched carefully, as his small mind tried to think. Which one should he help, if any. If he was lucky, they could both kill each other. But that was doubtfull. If he helped the other who hit him, he would make enemies with the other Orc. But if he helped him. He held his dagger, letting the first blow make his decision for him.

Meanwhile, the two dark Fairies, watched on gleefully.

Gorroc laughed softly to himself. This Orc was even dumber than he thought; not only was he attacking, but he managed to anger his potential ally in the process. Drawing his sword, Gorroc stepped into the charging Orc's attack. The attacking Orc looked reckless, and Gorroc planned to use that. He would take large swings, hoping to do lots of damage quickly. Gorroc knew he couldn't stop the momentum of the swinging axe simply by blocking with his sword; as the dumb Orc pulled back for his strike, Gorroc lunged forward, ready to duck under his opponent's swing, his sword seeking a weak point in the armor, his God crying for blood and death.

Karlen'ae could see the Queen in her magnificent coach, waiting for her. She stepped quickly up to the carriage and curtsied to Queen Gossamer before being handed in. Inside, everything was goregous, as befitted royalty. She wondered if the thrill of it all would ever wear off.

"Thank you for allowing me to accompany you, Your Majesty," Karlen'ae said, remembering her manners. "It looks sure to be a wonderful night."

Leaving the Palace for The Quassams's Night Eve,
    Fairy Ring, Forrests of Alfheim

Queen Gossamer nodded quietly, as Karlen'ae Covenly made her approach to the coach. Elsie looked at the girl, and then gently flapped her wings, as she prepared herself, a puff of smoke, curled up gently from her nostrils.

Karlen'ae stepped quickly up to the carriage and curtsied to Queen Gossamer. Gossamer nodded as an fairy attendant stepped up to help Karlen'ae inside. Inside, everything was properly set up, and adorened in woodland splender. Inside, she could see a small fountain, that some liquid flowed from. A light, sweet smell could be noticed, as the orbs around her gently circled around the top of her coach.

"Thank you for allowing me to accompany you, Your Majesty," Karlen'ae said, remembering her manners. "It looks sure to be a wonderful night."

Queen Gossamer smiled, as the doorman reached over, and gently closed the door to the coach. "I most heartly agree with thee, Karlen'ae. It will be a night, to be remembered by many." She said with a gentle voice, and a mischievious smile on her face. With a gesture, the coachman gave a whistle, and Elsie took off, wings expanding, as golden wings expanded and the coach quickly left the ground.

Outside the coach, the scene outside the coach flew by quickly, as the chrystaline coach flew quickly through the air. As it did, it passed many who were also on their way towards the fairy ring.

Gossamer gestured, and a small crystal goblet floated into her hands, She gently tiped it into the fountain, and then took a small drink of the sweet substance. She then turned, and offered Karlen'ae an empty glass, if she wished to partake of the fountain. Goassmer then rang a small bell.

A small chime, seemed to ring throughout the entire coach, and beyond. Karlen'ae could tell something had changed on the coach, but not exactally what, that was, until she looked down. She realized that she could see straight though the coach, down below to the land that passed swiftly by. To the sides, lights seemed to twinkle around them.

Gossamer looked down. She could see the young fairy, Anth'lan Dold'ric, heading as many were, towards the fairy ring. She laughed softly, and then gestured. "I ween that Anth'lan, wished to make his one way to the ring. He seems to be in a hurry." she stated as she looked up towards the coachman with a nod. She then looked over at Karlen'ae.

"On this night, things will be quite ... un-ordinary. Do not feel that you must do, as you normally do this night. Tonite, is a night for more than just court and normality." Gossamer fluttered her wings slightly, and Karlen'ae saw bits of what looked like glitter flutter from her wings. Fairy dust perhaps? Gossamer smiled onced again "...Listen...." The sound of music began to echo into their ears. And it was growing louder at they drew near.

The ring, in which the nights activities were to be held, was in full swing now. Soft lights, from glowing orbs, and flowers that seemed to glow, lit the area. Soft music played, as a group of fairies and and lovely Dryad, with a huge harp, played for the guests. So many could now be seen, fairies and pixies from many lands now were within the area. Several larger beings, invited guests, were there as well, carefully seated, as they enjoyed the music. One, a lovely elfin girl played a flute, as a few others danced oft to one side.

The area was bathed in star and moonlight.

Qr'wreen and Sander, along with a few others orbed about the area, keeping a watchfull eye. Hom'barge and Lutania, were busy keeping the children busy, telling them tales from the human village.

Back on the coach, Gossamer looked up. With a gesture, the orbs around her streaked out from the coach. Up till now, the coach had been hidden from sight, only visible to a few. But now, that was to change. Gossamer put down the goblet she had, and closed her eyes, concentrating.

    Ivan the Stranger
Realm of the Wood Elves, Ennathe

Ivan scurried through the treetops of his forest home, roughly dragging a large boar?s head behind him, it?s bloody eyes staring into the sky as he ran along.

He danced and he soared and he flew across those fragile branches, the happiness of the hunt making him lighter on his feet than he ever was normally. The blood rush, the adrenaline?such a sharp, savoury contrast to the stale, tasteless melodies of this tiresome golden wood and all its tedious harmony. One day, he would venture outside Ennathe, find some corpses, and tug them back into the heart of the forest, throw them onto the purest Elven ground, and display them with pride to sickened little fairies, and laugh in their faces that they had never experienced the thrill of holding death in their hands.

But what was this? He had been almost all over these woods a hundred and one thousand times, he knew the place as well as the depths of his own heart. Yet he had very rarely ventured into Alfheim. Why would he want to cross into faerie land, and all their disgustingly fantastical surroundings? He would never do such a thing of his own choice. But it seemed like one of them had done that very thing here. For he could have sworn he had spotted the creature just a moment earlier. There was no chance of him seeing her now- the things could make themselves invisible at will. So he sat still on his branch instead, and waited. Perhaps the cursed faerie would show itself if he sat there long enough- assuming there had ever been one in the first place, it was so difficult to tell with them. They were so strange. He hated them. He looked down.

Below, Artaresto was wandering. And wandering. And acting even stranger than Ivan, and Ivan was Ivan the Stranger. How curious. What was poor old Art doing. Was he?dreaming?

Realm of the Wood Elves, Ennathe

Artaresto was facing the Wood Elf city he loved, and was trying to smile. He couldn't. He knew what these dreams meant. They would eventually come to pass. They were not dreams, but visions of the future. Of futures. Nothing was set in stone. He could always change these visions, and if he could, he would. Why not start now. The smallest act, could change someones life, he had been told. He had to tell Aeronwen how he felt. He started moving, slowly and quietly towards her house. Art was disturbed from his thoughts by a snap of a twig. His ears pricked up, and he could hear someone approaching. "Who goes there?" He shouted into the darkness. He sighed, realizing that it was he who had made the noise and continued walking. Another noise made him stop. A rustle in the trees. It could well have been another Elf, Art turned around, certain that he could hear something breathing, but saw nothing. He heard a noise above him, and looked up. "Who is that?" He said, than called out nervously, "Ivan?"

    Ivan the Stranger
Realm of the Wood Elves, Ennathe

"Why yes," hissed Ivan from the trees, grinning. How wonderful to be recognised! And what a gift he had, indeed, what a gift for this fellow Elf to admire and receive and appreciate. Ivan swung on his branch, dropping down for a brief instant to lock eyes with Artaresto.

"Why hello there, Art," he chuckled, and disappeared back up into the trees, before calling out, "You seem to be in something of a muddle. Wandering around as if you were in some sort of dreamworld, weren't you? What was it? Who was it? But honestly, don't answer just yet, it doesn't matter in the slightest at this particular moment in time, for I have something to show to you."

A dark convulsion of laughter seizing him momentarily, Ivan recovered himself, and tossed down his 'gift' at the feet of his fellow Wood Elf- it was the grim prize he had claimed earlier. The grisly, bloody, severed and slimy head of a dead boar.

    Aurora
    Deep within the woods

Aurora peeked around the trees. She had heard movement, and her senses made her nervious. Noise through the treetops made her instantly dissapear, as she flew up high, looking down now among the trees, to the forest floor before.

An Elf, was busy moving through the treetops, carrying something. But her sensative nose made her cringe back. Suddenly, the Elf had stopped, and another snap of a twig brought her attention back down below her. ANOTHER ELF? She wondered if they were meeting each other.

This elf looked as if he was lost. He wondered about, aimlessly. Unusual behavior for her taller cousins. "Who goes there?" He shouted into the darkness. No. They were not meeting each other. She watched, as he sighed, and then called out. "Who is that?" He said, than called out nervously, "Ivan?"

Aurora moved about to watch the two speak. Maybe the one elf who looked lost had found someone to help. "Why yes," hissed the other Elf from the trees. Ivan swung on his branch, dropping down for a brief instant to lock eyes with Artaresto. "Why hello there, Art," he chuckled, and disappeared back up into the trees, before calling out, "You seem to be in something of a muddle. But honestly, don't answer just yet, it doesn't matter in the slightest at this particular moment in time, for I have something to show to you."

A dark convulsion of laughter seizing him momentarily, and Aurora's wings fluttered nerviously. This other elf, the one called Ivan made her feel nervious. This elf, was not like others. Ivan stopped laughing, and tossed down his 'gift' at the feet of his fellow Wood Elf.. It was the grisly, bloody, severed and slimy head of a dead boar.

"Oh!" Aurora wispered, looking at the horrible thing Ivan had just tossessed to the other Elf. She knew that some Elves did in fact eat meat, but that was not an animal slaughtered for a meal. The eyes looked up, cold and dead, and this elf seemed happy to be carrying it around. How horrible! How could he be so wrong?

She flew swiftly, moving to behind another tree. She waited to see how the other elf would react to this strange elf. There was something wrong with the other Elf. He was not to be trusted. He might even be dangerious. Was the other Elf in danger? She waited to see. Perhaps the lost Elf needed more help than he imagined.

Art heard a sickening squelch, and looked at the present Ivan had left him. The severed head of a boar. "Ivan, your disgusting!"
He had seen worse than this before, on the battlefields, but was still shocked, and unexpected. Fighting the urge to throw up, Art looked away from the head. It was acceptable to kill for meat, or for the greater good, but for fun? Art was sickened. He was already disorrientated from the dream, and seeing this in front of him disturbed him. It could well have been a sign, of something. The smallest gesture could change the world. his parents had told him. A wise statement. This boars head could mean anything. However, Art figured the ebst thing to do with the head was to get rid of it. He ran to the head, picked it up, and trying to resist the disgust he felt, threw it with all his might. He than sat down, and muttered to himself. "Ivan the Stranger indeed."

On the edge of the woods of Alfheim

A lone human had set up camp in a patch of area, clear of the trees and high grasses that otherwise filled the area. Skullbane Axeblood looked up at the stars. It was late at night, and the air was warm. The scent of some fragrant flower reached his nostrils, as the woods seemed rather peaceful. Of course, one such as him, knew just how well the peace could change. But on this night, even he felt at ease with his surroundings.

Food had been easy to find so far, much more so than some of the other woodland areas he had traveled though on his journey. As he sat at the entrance to his camp, Skullbane noticed that he heard noises.

At first, he thought that perhaps he was hearing things, for it sounded to him as if he had heard the strum of a musical instrument, and then laughter. It faded for a few moments, and then he heard it again, followed by more laughter. The bushes to the far side of his camp began to move, and the laughter seemed to increase. Someone was definatelly heading his way. His sharp ears picked up another voice. And they were most definatelly, female.

Borders of the Woods of Alfheim

Skullbane quickly stood from his position at his miniscule campfire and readied his twin axes, each roughly the size of a male dwarf, and held them at guard. The laughter quickly rushed memories of stories told around the campfire when he was a child; tales of seductive sirens who laughed and sang as they tore even the bravest warrior limb from limb.

"I refuse to suffer such a fate..." Skullbane muttered as he sunk lower into his stance, his body built like a bipedal bull, and his stance readying a charge if needed. His animal hide boots slid in the grass and dirt as he kept his ears open for the exact source of the disturbance. If combat would ensue, Skullbane was prepared to draw first blood.

His animal hide boots slid in the grass and dirt as he kept his ears open for the exact source of the disturbance.

Two young girls, one carrying a lute laughing and playing with the other, slipped out into the clearing. Their hair was filled with a wreath of flowers, as they were dressed in gossamer gowns, of yellow and green. Deep blue eyes turned to look at Skullbane. At seeing the man standing there with axes at the ready, one stopped, her eyes growing wide. Her friend, paused, seeing the fear in her friends eyes, and then followed the stare back towards Skullbane.

Her face flushed red, as she backpeddled away, back towards the trees. "Forgive us warrior. We did not notice this glen was occupied. We only wished to hurry ourselves to the party...." She nodded, as he friend peeked around her companion, tapping her shoulder. She nodded towards her friend. "I know.." she wispered to her.

"If we may cross over, we can be on our way...." she offered hesitantly.

Darkling Realm - Urgan - (Dark Realm)

But it seemed as this Orc was not as stupid as he lead many to belive. As he swung, his other hand moved, a dagger hidden within his palm

As the Orc swung with his axe, he was going to use his dagger, when Gorroc, ducked under his swing. The Orc growled, as he only managed to nick Gorroc, but had time to bring his dagger into play, to keep from taking a nasty fatal wound. But Gorroc sharp eyes had noticed a bad spot in the Orcs armor, just below his right shoulder. Now, if he could just get to it.

Meanwhile, the other Orc danced around the pair, looking as if he was looking for his own place to use his dagger, but for some reason, still holding back.

The Orc howled at Gorrac, as he brought his axe back around again.

Gorroc cursed as the Orc attacking him deflected his blow with a hidden dagger, even managing to nick Gorroc's arm with it as Gorroc ducked under the axe strike. Gorroc half heartedly wished that he'd had time to grab his shield before the fight began, but knew that that was wishful thinking; Gorroc was unwilling to put the unknown pouch down, and there was no way to use his shield while carrying it. Anyway, now was not the time to be thinking of could have beens; he had to deal with the greedy Orc now. If he could get a solid strike in at that weak armor on the right shoulder, it would keep the axe out of play and end this combat quickly.

Gorroc swung his sword out to deflect the second axe attack before launching into a series of his own attacks, hoping to put the Orc on the defensive. Feinting to the left, Gorroc brought his strikes back to the right, attacking the Orc's right side, mainly his arm and shoulder, trying to land a blow where the armor was insufficient.

    Palace of Queen Gossamer, Alfheim

The Queen's coach was nothing sort of sumptuous, as befit royalty. Karlen'ae was in awe of the little magicks that Queen Gossamer had up her sleeve, like making the floor virtually disappear. Karlen'ae would have been almost frightened if it weren't so enchanting. She could see Anth'lan far below and wondered if he was enjoying himself yet.

"On this night, things will be quite ... un-ordinary. Do not feel that you must do, as you normally do this night. Tonite, is a night for more than just court and normality," the Queen said, to Karlen'ae's surprise. Could the woman have been hinting at something? Karlen'ae recognized that bemused look as the one the Queen often got when she had an inkling of the future and was just waiting for the vision to come true. But she almost never used it on her staff. Karlen'ae was puzzled, but thankful that, whatever it was, the Queen apparently thought it important enough to all but dismiss Karlen'ae from her duties.

As the coach touched down, Karlen'ae got a better idea of the crowds that had gathered for the wonderful celebration. The air was alive with gentle music and the sky filled with twinkling lights from the stars above and the fairies below. Karlen'ae greeted some visiting fairies that she recognized from the last court gathering before deciding that she would look for Anth'lan. As long as I sort of have the evening off...I might as well make the most if it.

He noticed Gorroc's feint to the left, but sought to catch the other as his arm came back around, his axe in a backhand swing, while his dagger sought to catch an open spot someplace vital.

Her friend stepped forward, and tapped her shoulder. she nodded, before speaking back to Skullbane. "But dont you know? You are relatively safe this night. This is a night of celebrations. We are to play there...and are on our way there now...late, as usual."

Her friend nodded. "I do we get to see the Queen..." They both nodded. They then looked to each other and then smiled. The both took a few steps forward, and stopped in front of Skullbane.

"Do you like parties? You can come with us...if you dont mind magic stuff, that is." they both asked together. "Plenty of food and drink.

The taller girl smiled, and took a small step forward towards Skullbane, he was a bit more relaxed with his actions as he stood. "Thank you warrior, you are kind to us..." Her friend stepped forward, and tapped her shoulder. She nodded, before speaking back to Skullbane. "But dont you know? You are relatively safe this night. This is a night of celebrations. We are to play there...and are on our way there now...late, as usual."

As they spoke, Skullbane examined them, each appearing quite fair and radiant. Either they really were sirens, or they were the most beautiful beings he had ever lain eyes on.

"Plenty of food and drink."

Skullbane thought to himself and recalled what the clan shaman would refer to as "magic", and he thought it was nothing more than illusions meant to entertain small children. He recalled the lights and images created by the elderly shaman and smirked, remembering the fond memory.

"Food and drink eh?" Skullbane began, glancing to the campfire he had started. The gorged rat he caught earlier wasn't much of a meal, and it was already burnt to a crisp over the fire. Not even a lowly predator would eat it now. He nodded in accordance with their offer to join them and smiled kindly. For a barbarian, he wasn't very rough.

He looked over the two maidens again, awestruck by their beauty and continued. "I am Skullbane Axeblood, Prince of the Barbarian Tribes of Lidonsfell east of the Dragon Isles. And you fair maidens are?" He awaited their response, eagerly awaiting their names.

    Earlier ...

    Nightfall (Before Midnight)

Realm of the Wood Elves, Ennathe, Western Callanthorith

There was a scratching noise at the door. Thin as it was, the sound carried through the door quite easily, and drew Aeronwen's attention. Whether she had been asleep, or in contemplation did not matter. The scratching continued, and it became louder with each minute that passed. It was almost as if someone, or something, had become desperate.

At the door, unbeknownst to Aeronwen, was a small Wood Elf of only seven. She was scared and she was cold and lonely, and so, she wanted company. Lanoria Nabria wore a silky, sky-blue dress, more gentle, but no less beautiful and dazzling, than her bright blue eyes, which sparkled keen intelligence. Her golden curls hung down to her shoulers and she bit the lower of her pink little lips.

"Aeronwen," she whispered fiercely, hoping to be heard this time. "It's dark and cold!" There was a brief pause as the young elf turned about and looked up into the darkness, and the shadows that seemed to lurk all about her. "I'm scared, Aeronwen. Please let me inside!" Her voice rose in pitch and she felt a a cool breeze sneak through her dress to brush against her back and she squealed, "Aeronwen!" as she pushed the door, seeking sanctuary from the darkness and the night.

    Now ...

Aeronwen fell from the wall she had fallen asleep on when she heard the knocking at the door. Ever since she was a child she'd had a knack for falling asleep in the strangest of places. Then she heard it again, a weak, but nonetheless prominent, rapping at her door. She quickly grabbed a knife--these past few nights had been odd, something in her peacefull woods was off and she wasn't taking any chances.

She flipped the knife up and hid it behind her back. Unlocking the latch with one hand was more difficult than she had imagined but she'd almost finished when she realised she could aways just bring the other hand forward, shaking her head she swung open the door.

"Child! What are you doing out at these times, the woods aren't safe for a little girl at night!" She exclaimed, ushering the girl into her small house.

Aeronwen sat the girl down and worked to find out where her parents were. Fortunately, she found them in short order. They had been searching for Lanoria elsewhere within their village. It was fortunate, too, because Aeronwen was not in the mood for company.

By the time the young elf's parents thanked Aeronwen and headed along on their way it was past midnight. Aeronwen just stood there alone and in the faint light offered by the moon and the spells of the Elders. There was a chill breeze within the air and it gave no comfort.

The two young ladies had offered Skullbane an attendance at the party that they were heading to. They waited, giggling, for his response, as he mulled it over.

Food and drink eh?" Skullbane began, glancing to the campfire he had started. He looked over the two maidens again and continued. "I am Skullbane Axeblood, Prince of the Barbarian Tribes of Lidonsfell east of the Dragon Isles. And you fair maidens are?" He awaited their response, eagerly awaiting their names.

The one with the lute stepped up, and made a small curtsey as she smiled. "Welcome Prince Axeblood. I am Zera..and my friend here is called Therlina. And we are musicians of the court of Alfheim." She said, as her friend made a small bow behind her. Zera nodded. "If you are ready to leave now, simply follow us, and we shall take you to a grand party indeed."

With a laugh, the two girls ran towards the other side of the glen, and stopped near a huge tree. Zera slung her lute over her shoulder. "Whenever you are ready." they stated, as they joined hands, and waited for Skullbane to join them.

    Skullbane Axeblood

Borders of the Woods of Alfheim

Skullbane looked on towards the girls as a rush of mixed emotions pummelled him like a pack of wild oxen.

First, there was confusion for the way these girls acted, all giddy and bubbly. They seemed comfortable around Skullbane now that he had introduced himself. This confused him because they were quick to trust a barbarian. Perhaps it was because he was a prince of sorts.

Second, there was intrigue. These girls had definitely sparked an interest that Skullbane never knew he had. Well, he knew he had it for some of the younger girls in his tribe, but being so far away from his lands and around maidens so fair, it was more than a confusing emotion for him. Marrying outside of the arranged marriages in his tribe were forbidden, and his father had yet to find him a bride. The thought of marriage was something too soon to bring up among such fine women.

Skullbane shook his head and approached the two girls, his tall figure hovering over them slightly as he stood behind them. "Ready when you are." He replied, as he awaited their guidance to the party.

"That meat tasted awfully good, I have to admit," Rayson exclaimed.

The large man stood returned his dishes and utensils to his home, and came back outside. He slid his sword into his scabbard, and felt it hit home. The brilliantl green grass seemed to shine throughout the forest, along with the other various colors throughout the dense foliage.

Rayson took in a big, deep breath of air, and exhaled slowly. He turned to Trey'fell, and nodded, "I'm ready to go."

The two girls smiled, as Skullbane shook his head and approached the two girls, his tall figure hovering over them slightly as he stood behind them. "Ready when you are." He replied, as he waited.

As the Therlina smiled, the one with the lute, Zera placed her hand upon the tree in front of her. She than sang out one lone note, high and clear.

From Skullbane's view, the tree seemed to to suddenly expand, and take up his entire viewpoint as a warm blast of air touched him. Then the tree seemed to shrink back, and he could hear music and smell the wonderful scent of meat cooking.

"We made it! And just in time..." Therlina said as she clapped her hands slightly. The girl with the lute, pulled her hand back from the tree and simply grinned.

"Welcome to the celebrations, Prince Axeblood." Zera said, as she gestured. Now, Skullbane could see various globs of colored lights that softly danced about, as elves, humans, and small folks with wings sat and ate and drank together. Music filled the area around the grassy ring, and the rainbow strobe of lights gently filled the area. The entire area was in a party mood. Skullbane could see several creatures and woodland animals also seemed to be sitting and partaking of the feast as well.

    Rayson
    The Woods of Alfheim

"That meat tasted awfully good, I have to admit," Rayson exclaimed. Trey'fell merely nodded, as he finished the small whitling he had done, and took up his own mug as well. His wings fluttered as he watched the man, putter around in his duties. Strange creature, men were. Sometimes, they were quite hard to read. This one reminded him of another.
Trey'fell stood up, when the man grabbed his sword. Only a human would take a weapon to a party.

Rayson took in a big, deep breath of air, and exhaled slowly. He turned to Trey'fell, and nodded, "I'm ready to go."
Trey'fell smiled, as he flew, zipping up till he was face to face with Rayson. "As you wish. Hold on to yer scabard, mortal." he said with a nod and a smile, as he reached into a small pouch, and threw up what look like sprinkles of bright lights within a cloud of dust. It grew very bright, and for a moemnt, Rayson could feel the wind around them. When the lights settled down, they were within an open clearing. It was dark, amd music and laughter could be heard all around them. Several other smaller fairies gathered as Trey'fell moved around Rayson.

"Welcome to Quassam's Night Eve!" they chanted softly, as they presented Rayson with a wreath of flowers, before taking off, laughing, turning into several balls of light.

Trey'fell just chuckled softly, as he watched Rayson.

    Skullbane Axeblood

The Woods of Alfheim; Festival Glen

Skullbane grew intrigued by the beings he saw about him. In his land, the prominent people were orcs and humans, with the rare half-orcs. Skullbane had gotten into quite the tussle with a band of orcs once, and he swore that if he could ever match their might, he would partake on a quest outside of his land. I guess he must have done something to that effect...

The human barbarian looked around, his twin axes glistening in the lights. Each roughly 4' long, with the double blades being half of that, they shone like the mid-morning sun over the Dragon Isles. Skullbane sniffed the air, and looked to the animals gathered at the feast. "~Common beasts eating among mortal men? Beasts are to be locked in pens or chained to posts. This land is strange to me. There is much I can learn...~" Skullbane thought to himself as he sat down on the ground, his arms reaching for a pitcher of mead and a large piece of meat on a plate.

He secluded himself from the more civilized peoples, eating away and drinking to his hearts content. Deep in the back of his mind, he questioned why he had followed the two girls, Therlina and Zera, to the party in the first place. Then he thought back to when they had invited him and his instincts told him to follow. He let out a deep sigh and chugged the pitcher of mead, his eyes on the lookout for more only moments afterward.
