Noom, I didn't know Ithorians were so thin skinned. I thought bounty hunters were tougher than that. I realize now you were only doing what you did for the credits, but at the time I made the "flunky" comment that is what you appeared to be. I think we can put his mess behind us and go our separate ways. Just know this, if you take another bounty against the Sprinkle Empire or the Du'Rakian Bacon trade, all bets are off. For now we have a truce.
Beenca turns around and heads for her ship. She has a lot of deliveries to get to. She flips on the comm link to the bagboy platoon:

noom arrives at the crime lords fortress
on the same plateform he left not a week ago.
2 rodians armed with blaster rifles escorts noom across the walkway to the dome shape building. inside the crime lord rodian meets noom at the door. noom looks at the crime lord "you have another job for me"the crime lord tells him of a sullustan who is selling sprinkles in his region and isn't on his payroll."noom looks at him how much" 5,000
noom again "you know i don't do small hunts
that won't even cover cost" the crime lord
" my apologies please be my guest tonight and in the morning i'll have something"
later that night noom exits his room to the holding cell section and in no time finds ro'tol. he then returns to his room.........

 

third day
noom walks out of the crime lords stronghold,down the walkway to his ship with a carbon frozen figure.as noom packs the figure into the cargo hold 2 rodians run from the stronghold,blasters whaling toward noom.noom pulls up his blaster rifle and aims carefully as blaster bolts ricochet off his armor .he fires hitting one in the shoulder that makes him stumble into the other one and both fall off the side of the walkway to their deaths.as noom lifts off the platform the stronghold exsplodes.in a matter of seconds noom hits lightspeed to the planet where he meet do'sine.
when do'sine arrives he finds noom inside with the carbon frozen figure at the far end of the catwalk.

this fine gentelman doesn't believe some one like u could be a crime lord yet alone bring down any part of his business" ro'tol rises and punches noom in the face.noom falls back onto the gaurd rail .ro'tol follows up by pinning the ithorian to the rail and replies u slimy little toad i will kill u. u don't double cross me.noom looks at do'sine and replies "they are cowards but push the rite buttons and they are a handfull.noom then
strikes ro'tol across the face and he goes flying down the catwalk noom turns to do'sine and replyes again,"need more proof

Pulls out his blast sword and thumbs the emission to stun,
"Noom, I want him unharmed. He has much to answer for. Ro'Tol, are you the one who set a contract on my bacon processing plant?"

noom pulls up his blaster rifle on stun as
ro'tol jumps up and breathing heavy looks at do'sine and replys," that's right your family has domonated the trading in this system and we aren't going to stand for it as for noom i will kill you now" ro'tol lungs
forward toward noom. noom fires, an orange ring exspnds from his gun barrel around
ro'tol. ro'tol stiffins up and falls to the floor.noom steps over ro'tol and replyes,
"u guys think everyone is out to cheat u
when someone becomes their equal in the market they think their being cheated" then
ro'tol very slowly rises enough to one knee
and pulls out a hold out pistol from his cloak and slowly aims it toward noom........

 

upon seeing Ro'Tol pulling the hold out blaster, lunges forward and lightly taps him on the skull with his sword, there is a discharge like a blasted on stun going offf and Ro'tol slumps to teh floor. Then kicks the blaster out of the way and looks towards Noom,
"The Neimodians are extreemly paranoid, looks like this one had a dissipation field. Looks like I saved your life Noom!"

walks forward after kicking Ro'Tol, and extends his hand towards Noom, "Yes you can call me friend."Shakes hands with noom and then picks up his comlink and calls for a pickup of the stunned Ro'Tol. A large cargo ship arrives and a tractor cage is extended to encase Ro'tol and place him in the bowels of the ship. the Senator then gets into his own ship after leaving a com card for Noom with his private comm code on it.

 

Beenca transmits a signal to TallonKaardegamer: Tallon, it has been too long since I have heard from you. Please respond so that I know you are OK. I can have a squad of my bagboy clones wherever you are quickly. In fact I am permanently assigning you your own squad for protection. I wouldn't want anything to happen to you and our important cargo.

Beenca turns away from the vid screen and smiles, she doesn't want to let on how much she cares for Tallon, but she does care for him. It surprises her how this rogue managed to invade her thoughts and feelings so easily.
She ends the transmission to Tallon and hopes for the best. As apprentice to the Sprinkle Empress she has a great responsibility to ensure the success of her smuggling operations. Beenca has placed a lot of trust and hope for that success in her network of smugglers.

 

Tallon receives an incoming message from Beenca. Stunned, he is very grateful at the offer and he will accept the extra protection from the empress's emmissary, and places his service at her beck and call.

He wonders what the future holds as he speeds away in the 24c41 toward Kuat, but that's why the ship is named that way.

A flush of warthm enters his being. He feels not only protected, but empowered even more to protect the cargo lines, empowered to serve the Republic in grand ways, and to serve Beenca ... and he has no idea what awaits him, but he thinks it's going to be wonderful.

Perhaps she has more greater power over him than he realizes.

 

Somewhere on Kuat, home planet of Tallon Kaardgamer, the flight of the 24C41 is being closely observed. The hulking body slithers around the monitor, slime covers the floor of the chambers, enraged that the emissary did not do the job he was supposed to, and now Tallon is under the protection of not only the pathetic, self-riteous, highest echelons of Republic, the Sprinkle Empress, but her lovely apprentice, that Spunpatch one from Cathar.

They had hedged their bets on ultimate control of the bacon routes, intercepted him with pit droids at the ship repair foundaries, and then tried to ambush him on the way from Coruscant, but things were not going as planned.

What does this pirate have? How does he get out of trouble so easily? It's as if Kaardgamer has nine lives of his own, like the citizens of Cathar tend to brag about their heritage. The slime underneath its bulk glowed green with abject destesting.

It is very displeased at this turn of events. The potentate wants those bacon routes secured for himself, and if he has to, El Puerco will see to it personally.

Tallon's disabled ship is gently cradled onto the landing platform on his home planet.
Toonbuck releases the navigation tractor beams, floating streams of light caressing the ship and then one by one extinguish.

Tallon steps out and cuts a dashing, roguish figure. "Such a showoff," he thought of himself, changing his mind to thinking more pleasant thoughts of what it would be like to have the Republican guardian purr in his arms. He sees signs advertising the sex slave trade here and there on the walls of the platform, emitting a shudder of painful remembrance.

"You're late!" said a voice from behind him. Tallon swirls around with his purple cape, hoping his newfound love Beenca Spunpatch has her comlink activated, just in case, or better yet, if he has invaded her mind as she says, a little ESP mind-reading would be preferred at the moment when Tallon rotates on his heels, he sees....

 

Beenca is standing there on the landing pad behind him. As she subconciously grooms the fur on her face she smiles at Tallon and says," I had to make sure you were all right. I took my fastest ship and got here just a few minutes ago." As Tallon stands there amazed, Beenca smiles at him. Her feelings are rushing through her faster than she can process, but she is afraid to let them show. She is the apprentice to Minacia Brightstar after all and must display an accomplished and in control facade at all times. "My mistress trusts me to make sure our supply chain remains uninterrupted at all times. You are a valued associate in our network." She tells him this with her best poker face on in front of all of the people on the landing pad, longing for the time they will meet alone.

 

"Why, hello there, Spunpatch," Tallon grinned, a devious smile curling up on his face as emotion caught the best of him. Reaching up to cup his hand on her furry cheek, he started stroking her fur and whiskers. "It's wonderful to see you," he said, then catching himself with a gasp and realizing that not only should he show proper respect to the Empress' emmissary and her office, but also, considering he's had a horrible spate of bad luck at staying out of skirmishes, he was keenly aware that unseen eyes could be watching them from the shadows. "Hopefully everything on the Pride's Revenge is running above nominal?" barely masking his pleasure at seeing her. Underneath his now calm demeanor he can't wait to get her alone and get her to purr in his arms.

 

Beenca tried very hard to keep her professional facade even as she longed to melt into Tallon's touch. "It is not safe to speak here. I will leave my squad of bagboys here with yours to oversee the repairs and security of the 24c41. I didn't have it specially modified only to see it destroyed. We have invested much in you Mr Kaardgamer and the Empress always expects a grand return on her investments. That is why she made me her apprentice and right hand. I want you to meet me at our safe house that we keep here in the city. I don't think your place is safe after the run of bad luck you have been having. I am also having your place checked out and cleaned up of anything that doesn't belong. Do not go anywhere with out one of my elite bagboy guard, you must be protected. We have much to discuss, I will await you at the safehouse."

 

Thank you, m'lady, Tallon said with a tilt of his head, knowing the safehouse would be ideal for a rendezvous of the most intimate type. I'll do everything I can to keep the bacon routes free and clear of hostile takeover.

In the background, for a brief moment, Senator Toonbuck Toors' rolled her eyes at Tallon, tentacled-mouth fluttering mild impatience. With a raised eyebrow and wink, Tallon signaled her everything was alright but knowing his penchant for getting into deep Bantha poo-doo, Toors silently huffed a facial expression, with an exasperated "what will I ever do with you?" look.

The bagboy droid rolled up at Beenca's command and gave a quick set of excited clicks. Tallon tapped his wristcomlink, allowing the droid to accept a confirmation signal from him.

Tallon proceeded to fill out his disembark info and repair requests. How long will it take? he asked. 15.26 hours, extensive repairs needed to the hull, the cobalt skin has been breeched , needs time to set into firmness, and the hyperdrive was ok.

Tap, tap, tippity tap on the wristcomlink. No, not acceptable, he replied...but under the circumstances... maybe faster? Sorry sir, came the answer. To himself he thought, I would rather spend time with Beenca and reconnect with her. The lady is his muse, and she knows how to jumpstart his own hyperdrive, let alone the ship's. Just one swish of her tail is all it takes.

Thinking about it sent shivers of pleasure up and down his spine. Knowing he can't wait here in the repair docs and waste more time, he walked away, and towards the Kuat city safehouse Beenca recommended, and entered the security code to unlock the door.

It unlatched with a little metal unhooking sound that reminded him of pulling two magnets apart. Once inside the safehouse door, he....

Noom, there will be NO bounty collected on TallonKaardegamer! I will match this bounty offered by the Rodian and provide you with a substantial bonus if you bring me his head instead of Tallon's. TallonKaardegamer is under the protection of the Apprentice to the Empress Minacia Brightstar! He is to be left alone and left unharmed! If anything should happen to him there will be no safe place in the galaxy for the responsible party or parties. This Rodian will serve as an example to anyone who dares to try to harm a valued member of the Empress's organization. I am a reasonable feline. I can be fair. However I repeat there will be NO bounty on TallonKaardegamer or anyone else under my protection.

 

Beenca ends the transmission to Noom and steps back from her comm unit. She finds it very distasteful to have to make a show of her power, but there was no way anyone was going to threaten her Tallon.
She tries to clear all of this unpleasant business from her mind. She reminds herself of Tallon's impending arrival and the importance of the Empress's orders concerning him. She tries not to let in the private thoughts about the handsome rogue, but is unsuccessful and the telltale grin creeps across her delicate feline features.

In her mind Beenca switches gears back to business for a minute and goes over a list of people to check into and take out of the picture if necessary. First and foremost is El Puerco. The Sprinkles Empire tried to be fair with him and split the bacon trade, but he got piggy. He will learn the cost of crossing Minacia.
Second, Beenca thinks of the funny feeling she got from Senator Toonbuck Toors on the landing pad and previously on Couruscant. This one needs to be looked into. She could be a great ally in the Senate, or she could be an enemy.

Beenca has just enough time to change into a beautiful flowing robe when the security monitors announce Tallon's arrival. She quickly arranges her fur and sits down in an easy chair and pretends to read a book so it doesn't look like she was waiting for him. She doesn't want to let on too much how she feels. As he walks through the door and greets her however she can't help the silly grin that takes over her entire face. When Tallon sees this his own facade melts quickly away and he too grins like a schoolboy.
He can't control himself as he grabs Beenca by both arms and kisses her with an urgency she has only wished for since she was a kitten....
