Amph The Fast & The Furious (Fast X)

I kinda hope they don't make any more cause the ending to 7 was the perfect way to end the series

 

It had the biggest April opening. More are inevitable.

Now that this has become a proper Sprummer(?) blockbuster franchise, when will we start seeing the tie-ins?

The Rock flexed his arm to break his cast and then he double-tapped the drone, some of my favourite stuff in Furious Seven. If anything, if they wanna Cinematic Universe the Furious Franchise, Hobbs needs his own damn movie, The Rock has been almost camoe'd only the last two installments. It was also kinda fun seeing the Tokyo Drift guy age visibly in the cut from the end of "Tokyo Drift" to "Furious Seven". I remember hearing on a random podcast, think it was Empire, that simply meeting Dom had that effect on him.

 

Furious 8 can't find a director. Vin Disel seems to be a factor in that problem.

I wouldn't be surprised if they go the young up-and-comer route, but if it gets down to crunch time there's always Rob Cohen. He directed the original F&TF, then directed Diesel in XXX. He's not exactly on a hot streak, and the franchise has definitely moved well beyond what it started out as under Cohen, but he's got the experience and the relationship with Diesel that could be a solid fallback option.

That would be appropriate, as that's basically what the franchise has turned into at this point. That's not a criticism, either. Though the last one began tip-toeing the line between fun and self parody a bit, over the top stunts and set pieces are its calling card. That and Dom mumbling stuff about family.

 

I wanna see someone join Dom's crew and very specifically Dom just says he's an associate and not family whatsoever. I mean, is Hobbs a part of Dom's family now? He tried to beat them up and imprison them, like, a lot!

As for supposedly getting phone calls from Vin Disel at 2 in the morning to go over the lines about "family".... that would be a scene to witness, is alls I can say.

Remember hearing in the long long ago Vin Disel was saying this would be kind of like "Escape from New York" so they probably have to break out Shaw Sr. because reasons.

I'm just glad the series continuity is straightened out and they finally moved past Tokyo Drift.

 

I loved 7, the ending was great, but I really can't imagine the series with out Brian.

Most likely, the stunts are getting more ridiculous every film. Each film always brings the laughs, which is why I love the Fast and Furious series. This scene cracks me up every time I see it even though it's 10+ years old.

Physics do seem to be thrown out the window, but they still make great popcorn movies and an escape from everyday reality. I like seeing what crazy thing they will try next.

 

Yeah, unforseen circumstances that caused plans to change aside, 7 seemed like a good ending to the story.
