    Well, they have played loose with the timeline of events before. The fourth movie obviously intended TD to happen during it (or shortly thereafter) which is why Han split after the prologue sequence- but they decided to insert two other movies inbetween them afterwards.

    And like was pointed out- the epilogue with Vin in TD is detached enough from the rest of the movie that there could plausibly be several movies set after the Yakuza stuff but before Dom shows up if they really wanted to (though I think the only limiting factor would be a consideration towards Lucas Black's age: it'd look mighty strange for him to suddenly age 10+ years between his "first" appearance and his "next" if they are in close proximity, chronologically- not to mention Dom would simultaneously be 10 years younger! [face_laugh] ).

    Because of the latter though, and the relevant plotline with Han, I think it's safe to say it'll only be one movie inbetween at most.

    Maybe there was a TIME PARADOX caused by Paul Walker and Vin Diesel driving too fast to get to Tokyo causing a ripple in the Space Time Continuum thus causing people to rapidly age forwards and backwards?

    I had also read he agreed to return to the FF franchise because they offered to make him a producer for the series as well. Vin seems like such a cool guy, very hands on and passionate about his projects.

    I always admire a movie star that is passionate about their projects and has a lot of fun while doing so.

    This. It definitely feels like he geniunely likes doing the FF and Riddick franchises, otherwise, why go through all the hoops to A) just to appear in a cameo in Tokyo Drift and B) bother with getting the rights to Riddick?

    Well, I think he genuinely loves the FF franchise now, likely for creative reasons as well as the paychecks they give, but I think the Riddick character is the only role/franchise he was particularly passionate about beyond his long-in-development Hannibal pet project. It's why he didn't return in 2F2F or xXx2 and only cameoed in TD, but is ultimately returning to all three franchises.

    True, but it was really the 1-2-3 punch of PB, TF&TF and xXx that made him a megastar name being thrown about as the future of action stars.

    Vin has confirmed that Kurt Russell will be the main villain for Fast Eight after being introduced in Fast Seven, as well as revealed the nature of the character: he's the father of Jesse (from the first film) seeking revenge against Toretto, who teams up with Jason Statham's character to do so.

    I always found it odd Jesse's character wasn't really mentioned after his death. Hell, I never was 100% sure he was dead.

    Collider.com is reporting Lucas Black will be back for the next couple movies. So from that I think it is safe to say that he will fall into the mix now.

    Excellent. Makes sense that they'd bring in somebody "new"-yet-familiar now that Han is gone (as well as a couple other supporting characters).

    EDIT- Woah, apparently Lucas Black is not only signed for Fast 7 & 8, but also Fast 9- which would tie back to comments Vin made back in Feb about wanting a new trilogy after Fast 6.

    They're announcing sequels to this franchise faster than I can edit them into the thread title. :p

    Now they're just competing with Expendables to see how many people they can squeeze into this series.

    Not that I'm complaining. More Djimon Hounsou is never a bad thing.
