The fate of fanfilms - a prediction

George Lucas is going to order the FBI to round up every last one of us. Then they are gonna take us to the ILM back lot. Then they are going to tie us to large columns like in the arena at the end of Episode II. Then about 20 feet in front of us, they will set up a large screen and make us watch Christmas Tauntauns as our last horrible, and final torture. Then they will place one of Jango Fetts sesmic(spelling?) charges in front of us, then BRRREEEOOOOOOWWWWWWWW, the shockwave will kill us all. No one will have the guts to ever make a fan film again.

 

here's the difference between TPE and your garden variety fanfilm... the unspoken agreement between LFL and the fanfilm community is this... you DO NOT USE IMAGES FROM THE MOVIES! no film, no footage, no pics of characters or moments from the movies... no directly copied DIALOGUE from the films... there can be NOTHING of the original movies in your fanfilm... they let the musical score slide, but the films that use it cannot be broadcast or some such junk... the sound effects they are pretty lax on...

so, what makes fanfilms ok and TPE bad? TPE was nothing BUT footage, dialogue, etc. from a starwars film!
