**The FF-UK fantasy football league - 08/09 season**

Are there people out there still playing? I'm rather enjoying my period of ascendancy, even if my competition appear to be largely inactive...

 

my form has dropped drastically. I was (very) slowly climbing back up the table but It's all gone very badly

 

I seem to be holding 4th place, but I was 3rd a couple of weeks ago.
I need a reliable captain.

 

I've been putting a lot of effort into my team the last couple of weeks and it is starting to pay off.

I was stuck in 12th place for a long time, but thanks to some clever dealing in the transfer market, i'm up to 6th.

I think the title might be beyond Welshguy Rovers this year, but i'm hopful of a champions league finish.

But never say never, 12 games left, a lot of points still to be won or lost.

 

Shame Arteta is now out for the rest of the season, he was one of my best players

 

Typical, I brought Arteta in for Wright-Phillips just before the Newcastle match and he lasts 4 minutes.

Has to be one of my less successful transfer dealings. Have to have a think about who i'm going to replace him with.
Might try and juggle my team so I can bring in a big gun like Lampard or Gerrard.

 

Don't get both. They can't play together.

 

I replaced him with Kuyt, Liverpool are struggling to score and since Benitez seems reluctant to play Alonso then Kuyt is a good consistent player.

I'm holding off with my Wild Card for now

 

Not really a big fan of Kuyt. Plus Liverpool are not really in form right now, whereas teams like Chelsea and Man Utd are
flying. I've got my limit of Man Utd players, so i'll have to look elsewhere and Lamps would be my first choice.

My transfer of Arteta was just about as bad as Fulham paying £5million for Bullard who only played 36 minutes before being ruled
out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.

 

Should've used him earlier, I had him for a while and he was a big contributor to my ascent up the table.

 

Tranferes arteta and another player - two new players for my team... hopefully it'll make a difference

If it wasn't for my mid season slump, I would surely be challenging for the title right now.

As it is i'm happy to get Welshguy Rovers back into the Champions League with second place in the standings.
You gotta think that The Jungle Cubs are too far ahead at this stage in the season to be under any kind of threat, but
who know what can happen in the last 7 games.

100 points in a lot to make up, but if anyone can do it.... Welshguy Rovers can!

After watching MOTD earlier I thought to myself "Surely I must have done pretty well thus week on the fantasy footie"

turns out I was right. got 75 points ( with arsenal to play tomorrow or whenever). best Game week I've ever had.

However, I still havn't gained a place. Still 14th

You know, that's not a bad point. The amount of points I've spent on excessive transfers is ludicrous, perhaps I'd have been better off just choosing a team and sticking with it.

Not that I'm exactly suffering (at least in the FFUK league)

 

On the day United clinched the title, I think it's safe to say I've taken this year's FF-UK Fantasy Football League. So I'm going to do a Mourinho and get up from my fantasy bench to come and shake your hands before the final whistle.

I'd like to say this victory was all down to tactical astuteness, and it was indeed.
