Ok, i'm tired of lingering at the bottom of the league. I have made 5 transfers and have opted for a far more aggresive attacking formation.

    You have been warned people!

And no, before you say it, this isn't an act of desperation to keep my job. [face_worried]

I read reports in the papers this morning that Gerard Houllier was being lined up to replace you.

Pah! I fart in Gerard Houllier's general direction!

I built up this club from the flat cap and meat pie conference strugglers of yesteryear.

The directors will do well to remember that.

I've lost 20 points making transfers, but now i've got everything sorted i'm pretty sure my team will move away from the religation zone and be up in the top 3 before long. I've also realised that i've missed out on nearly 40 points due to an "administration" error. In other words, I kind of messed up. :(

Still early days, but I should have done all this when the Premiership first started. The league starts afresh for Welshguy Rovers from week 4.

    In the words of Carlitto:

    "Here come the pain!"

Posted by halibut early in the thread:

    Rooney?????

Yeah, the Everton midfield will set him up with lots of goals [rolleyes.gif]

Well... if he goes to Manchester United (as seems likely now)... then I should hope their midfield will supply him with lots of goals!!!! ;)

TBH it would be a bit odd if a young lad who asked for a transfer away from Everton to play at the top level and in Europe every year would end up on Tyneside. [face_devil]

You got me wrong. I think, given his 'reasons' for leaving Everton, it would be odd if he went to Newcastle instead of Manchester.

Look at Shearer, when he left Blackburn he had won a Championship, was regarded at the best striker in England, if not Europe and could have won a sack load of trophies with any of the top clubs in Europe, but instead he went to Newcastle and hasn't won a saugage.

Hope Rooney doesn't make the same mistake. Plus, disorder and anarchy seem rife at Newcastle at the moment, not the kind of place a man of his reputation should go at this point in his career.

He should go to Manchester United and become one of the most successful players in Europe. Can you imagine Fergy putting up with the kind of attitude the likes of Kerian Dyer and Cragi Bellamy have been serving up? Manchester United is the kind of place Rooney needs to be - Fact.

It should be noted that the stories about 'What Wayne got up to' that were in last Sunday's papers (with no doubt another installment being prepared for tomorrow) are reporting events that happened 18 months ago, and given Wayne has only been a pro footballer for 2 years... that's a long time.

I'm not saying Wayne is a paragon of innocence... he's not (he's a impressionable young kid hailing from Croxteth for goodness sake!!!)... but he's not the same scallywag he probably once was.

OK, changed formation for next week.

Niemi, Bridge, Knight, Mellberg, Lampard (c), Gerrard, Murphy, Downing, Jenson, Phillips and Smith.

    Good solid midfield.
