For some reason Barkley was not getting his minutes. In only one of the games was he in foul trouble, yet he only got 30-32 minutes when I set him to 38.
    Weird sim.

LeBron vs. Magic! The Mailman and the Big O! Tunick vs. Himself!

Game 1: ABSOLUTE UNIT 112, Los Angeles Courtsiders 96

    Full Play-by-Play
    Box Score

In a three-minute span to start the fourth quarter, ABSOLUTE UNIT delivered the knockout blow and took game one on the road.

With a four-point lead to start the quarter, ABSOLUTE UNIT put the clamps down on defense and were nearly flawless on offense. A 13-2 run to start the quarter put the game out of reach. In that run, the only missed field goal ABSOLUTE UNIT had was on a runner by LeBron James, but that was put back in by a second (third, actually) chance effort from DeAndre Jordan. Meanwhile, in that same span, the Los Angeles Courtsiders made just one field goal, turned it over twice, and were blocked twice. From there, the Courtsiders would never again come closer than 12 points.

The story of the night for ABSOLUTE UNIT was LeBron James. The King scored 32 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, dished out 8 assists, and added 5 steals. That paced ABSOLUTE UNIT to a 50.0% night from the field, where Scottie Pippen added 17 points, John Stockton and Elton Brand each scored 14, and Jordan was a beast inside - scoring 10 points, grabbing 12 rebounds, and his 6 offensive rebounds powering ABSOLUTE UNIT to a 17-8 edge pm the glass.

The Courtsiders had six players score in double figures, lead by 17 from Tracy McGrady, and 14 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists from Hakeem Olajuwan.

Game 2: ABSOLUTE UNIT 101, Los Angeles Courtsiders 89

    Full Play-by-Play
    Box Score

John Stockton outdueled Magic Johnson, and the Los Angeles Courtsiders had no answer for LeBron James, as ABSOLUTE UNIT rolled to their second win in the series.

Stockton went for 13 points, 12 assists, and 5 steals, outshining his more celebrated opponent, who put up 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists. James, meanwhile, played like royalty again, scoring 23 points and dishing out 8 assists.

Oh, and DeAndre Jordan and Tyson Chandler proved an unstoppable force inside, combining for 14 points and 9 rebounds in 47 minutes of game action to stake ABSOLUTE UNIT to a 52-40 edge on the glass, including 11-5 on the offensive glass.

The Courtsiders got 17 points from Elgin Baylor to support Magic Johnson and 12 points from Hakeem Olajuwan. But, that wasn't enough to overcome just 45.2% shooting and 28.6% from three, especially given their deficit on the boards.

Game 3: ABSOLUTE UNIT 118, Los Angeles Courtsiders 89

    Full Play-by-Play
    Box Score

Three games in the series. Three wins for ABSOLUTE UNIT. And this one was full of dominance and a showing of strength.

ABSOLUTE UNIT shot 55.7% from the field and held their opponent to just 41.7% shooting. They hit 41.7% of their triples, while the Courtsiders made just one three all night, shooting 11.1% from beyond the arc. And they muscled their way to a 52-36 edge on the glass, removing any avenue the Courtsiders might have had to steal a win.

LeBron James was - again - all over the stat line. He scored 23 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, handed out 12 assists, blocked 4 shots, and added in 3 steals. DeAndre Jordan was again a beast on glass with no answer, grabbing 11 rebounds - six offensive - while Scottie Pippen added 19 points and 7 rebounds.

In the loss, the Courtsiders got 16 points and 9 assists from Tracy McGrady and 12 points and 10 rebounds from Elgin Baylor.

The game turned on a 9-2 run in the second quarter as the Courtsiders went second-and-a-half minutes without scoring a field goal. The game was put of reach in the third as ABSOLUTE UNIT scored 9 points in the final 84 seconds to push their lead to 30.

Game 4: ABSOLUTE UNIT 111, Los Angles Courtsiders 99

    Full Play-by-Play
    Box Score

It's often said that LeBron James enjoys playing in Hollywood.

    it showed in this game.

James scored 28 points, handed out 14 assists, and grabbed 7 rebounds as he lead his team to the win on the road, completing the sweep, and leaving the Courtsiders to hope they can get help from A Shaq of the Clones and back into the playoffs.

It wasn't just James alone in this one. All the King's men chipped in, with Scottie Pippen adding 12 points, 10 rebounds, 9 assists, 4 steals, and 3 blocks. DeAndre Jordan grabbed 13 rebounds. And Karl Malone scored 21 points in just 20 minutes on only 13 field goal attempts. All of that added up to a tidy 55.7% shooting from the field.

The Courtsiders will want to forget this one. They had a thirteen point lead early in the 2nd quarter, but watched a 12-2 run from ABSOLUTE UNIT nearly erase that entire lead, before another 12-2 run from ABSOLUTE UNIT put them on top later in the quarter.

The Courtsiders did get 17 points and 15 rebounds (8 offensive) from Elgin Baylor, 20 points from Tracy McGrady, and 12 points, 12 assists, and 6 rebounds from Magic Johnson.

None of that will matter, though, if they miss the playoffs.

    Live Standings:

    Talents in South Beach League

    ABSOLUTE UNIT 9-3 (+149)
    Los Angeles Courtsiders 6-6 (+69)
    The Anti-Dentites 4-4 (-30)
    A Shaq of the Clones 1-7 (-188)

    Playoff Scenarios:

ABSOLUTE UNIT have clinched a playoff spot, and the #1 seed from Talents in South Beach League
The Anti-Dentites will advance to the playoffs as the #2 team if they win 3 or 4 games.
The Los Angeles Courtsiders will advance to the playoffs as the #2 team if A Shaq of the Clones wins 3 0r 4 games.
If the Anti-Dentites and A Shaq of the Clones split the series, we will go to tiebreakers. The first tiebreaker is record, but heels and Tunick split their series 2-2. The second tiebreaker is supposed to be margin of victory in those four games. I believe Tunick has a +2 edge there. I'm willing to let the two gents agree to a one-game playoff if they want, but if they don't, two wins by A Shaq of the Clones would be enough for the Courtsiders to back into the playoffs.

    Game 1: A Shaq of the Clones 110, The Anti-Dentites 103

    Full Play-by-Play
    Box Score

A Triple-Double from Charles Barkley, a dominant night from Shaquille O'Neal, and a massive rebounding edge was enough to power a Shaq of the Clones to victory.

A Terrible second quarter from the Anti-Dentites didn't do much for their cause.

Shaquille O'Neal scored 38 points, pulled down 12 rebounds, handed out 5 assists and blocked three shots. Barkley added 14 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists. A Shaq of the Clones also got 25 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists, and 4 blocks from Shaquille O'Neal, helping them to a 52-39 edge on the glass, and 51.7% shooting on the night.

The Anti-Dentites scored just 13 points in the 2nd quarter and made only 4 field goals in the period.

The Anti-Dentites were lead by 26 poitns from Kevin Durant, as well as 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists from Tim Duncan.

Kevin Love Watch: Kevin was the only sub used by "Coach" Kevin Love - playing 14 minutes and scoring four points on 2-for-3 shooting.

    Game 2: A Shaq of the Clones 101, The Anti-Dentites 99

    Full Play-by-Play
    Box Score

In a furious fourth quarter effort, the Anti-Dentites took the lead on the road with 8:06 remaining. They gave it back 15 seconds later, but then took it again 11 seconds after that. This was a lead they would not surrender ...

... Until 1:22 was left in the game, when Julius Erving tied it at 99. With 21 seconds left, Erving scored again to give them the lead, and when Kevin Durant missed his shot at the buzzer, A Shaq of the Clones had won again, and the Los Angeles Courtsiders were a heartbeat from the playoffs.

Erving ended the game with 24 points, 9 assists, 4 steals, and 3 blocks, doing a little bit of everything to lead his team to victory. Shaquille O'Neal scored 28 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, while Shaquille O'Neal scored 21, grabbed 8 rebounds, and handed out 10 assists.

The Anti-Dentites will no doubt rue this missed opportunity. Behind 14 poitns nad 9 rebounds from Moses Malone, they were competitive on the glass - losing the rebounding edge just 46-42. Tim Duncan scored 26 points in the loss, and Kevin Durant scored 16 while dishing out 6 assists.

the Anti-Dentites can look at their terrible outside shooting as one culprit, as they shot just 2-for-9 from three. James Harden had a particularly bad game to forget, shooting 1-for-6 from the field and missing all three of his triples. They can also point to the fact that they had 18 shots blocked, with Giannis Antetokounmpo swatting six of them.

Kevin Love Watch: Kevin was again the only sub used by "Coach" Kevin Love, this time logging 7 minutes, scoring three points and inexplicably playing himself during crunch time where his missed jumper with 52 seconds left gave the Anti-Dentites a chance to win.

    Game 3: The Anti-Dentites 119, A Shaq of the Clones 100

    Full Play-by-Play
    Box Score

Needing a win to keep their season on life support, the Anti-Dentites came out on fire, showing heart to keep themselves just barely alive.

They were up 10 midway through the first quarter, and pushed their lead as high as 16 in the opening quarter. They were as relentless early on as Mike Tyson is incoherent in an interview, pushing their lead into the 20s just 71 seconds into the second quarter, and leading by as many as 36 in the first half, before taking a 26-point lead into the break and cruising to victory.

Tim Duncan was the hero the Anti-Dentites needed, scoring 27 points and grabbing 9 rebounds. Duncan was also instrumental in getting Shaquille O'Neal into early foul trouble and keeping him there, forcing a Shaq of the Clones to go to the bench and begrudgingly replace Shaq with Shaquille O'Neal. His team followed his example, getting fouled and converting chances, getting to the line 36 times and converting 31 of those. They also got 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists from Kevin Durant, and 12 points and 10 rebounds from Moses Malone.

A Shaq of the Clones got 22 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists from Shaq, who was plagued by foul trouble. They also got 17 poitns and 10 rebounds from Giannis Antetokounmpo and 12 points, 16 rebounds, and 5 assists from Charles Barkley.

JR Smith would have had a Trillion in this game had he thrown a bowl of soup instead of chucking up a three-pointer.

Kevin Love Watch: Kevin played himself 11 minutes and scored 9 points.

    Game 4: The Anti-Dentites 103, A Shaq of the Clones 100

    Full Play-by-Play
    Box Score

This was not a game for the faint of heart.

The Anti-Dentites came out lighting it up. They started the game on an 8-1 run, and pushed the early lead to 19-3. A Shaq of the clones needed 9 minutes and 12 seconds to break into double figures scoring, and the Anti-Dentites would lead by as many as 18 in the first quarter.

But, then the second quarter happened, and A Shaq of the Clones struck back like the Empire. A 19-4 run gave them the lead at 43-42, and a dominant end of the quarter had them up 6 at the half.

And if you thought that was a wild, dramatic swing ... fast forward to the fourth quarter.

The Anti-Dentites entered the 4th Quarter trailing by 7, but quickly erased that, tying the game in just 84 seconds. All told, it was a 14-0 run to start the quarter as they kept a Shaq of the Clones off the board for the first 5 minutes, 26 seconds of the fourth quarter. However, a Shaq of the Clones was not done yet, and tied the game at 96 with 91 seconds to play. The game would be tied again at 98, and at 100, but with one second left, Kevin Durant hit a three, and then Giannis Antetokounmpo missed a desperation heave at the buzzer to give the win to the Anti-Dentites.

The Anti-Dentites got a monster night from Tim Duncan, who scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, with half of those being on the offensive end. They also got 23 points from Kevin Durant.

A Shaq of the Clones had three players just miss out on triple doubles. Shaquille O'Neal scored 18 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, and blocked 8 shots. Charles Barkley scored 19, grabbed 14 rebounds (9 Offensive!) and dished out 9 assists. And, Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 17 points, dished out 10 assists, and grabbed 9 rebounds. To add to that, Shaquille O'Neal scored 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Kevin Love Watch: Kevin gave himself a DNP - CD in this one. Or was ejected by Arena Security and arrested by police.

    Live Standings Update:

    ABSOLUTE UNIT 9-3 (+149)
    Los Angeles Courtsiders 6-6 (+69)

if the point margin was close, i would - but 86 points is a game's worth (especially when durant is shooting 3/36 from the field) - so i concede the spot to tunick and his courtsiders.

Yeah - I was specifically talking about the H2H Point Differential, and if you and tunes both agreed to a one-game playoff (home court to Tunes for having that +2). two points in four games seems a bit of a silly way to decide who advances. But, if you concede, you concede.

Going to try to get the final set of regular season games on Friday.

Jordan and Kobe vs. Westbrook and D-Wade! Kareem vs. Bird! Wilt vs. Moses! Kevin Durant vs. The temptation of quitting on his teammates!

    Game 1: Game,Blouses 111, new World order 95

    Full Play-by-Play
    Box Score

Drama? Nah. Game,Blouses didn't want none of that.

Needing just one win to clinch a spot in the playoffs, they come out on the road and did just that behind monster nights from their twin towers of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Wilt Chamberlain.

Abdul-Jabbar scored a game-high 25 points, on just 18 shots. He pulled down 11 rebounds, 5 of them on the offensive glass. Chamblerlain scored 15, and pulled down 13 rebounds - 7 being offensive. That combination lead to a 17-10 edge on the offensive glass, which itself meant Game, Blouses took 18 more shots from the field - a true difference maker in such a close game.

Game,Blouses shot 47.9% to 47.4% for new World order, with neither team getting much success from three. Game,Blouses his just 4 of 13, while new World order countered with just 2 of 9.

Turnovers were another area that plagued new World order, as they turned it over 19 times, with Dwyane Wade nabbing 5 steals on his own.

new World order were lead by 18 points from Michael Jordan - though he did turn it over 5 times - and 13 points each from Larry Bird and Kobe Bryant.

    Game 2: new World order 105, Game,Blouses 96

    Full Play-by-Play
    Box Score

It was Kobe Bryant early and often in this one, as new World order evened up the series and put themselves one win away from clinching the regular season title in the Grantland Memorial @};- League.

Kobe scored the first seven points for new World order on his way to 15 poitns in the first quarter, as new World order built a lead that balloon to the 13 and settle at 10 - and 42 points for the game. Kobe added 7 rebounds and 3 assists on the night, as well.

It wasn't just Kobe. Larry Bird scored 20 points, hauled in 6 rebounds, and handed out 6 assists - throwing in three blocked shots for good measure - in support. And Moses Malone scored 9 points and pulled down 15 rebounds, including 8 on the offensive glass.

For Game,Blouses, Dwyane Wade was the leading scorer with 27 points, though that is overshadowed by the fact that he was guarding Kobe most of the night. Russel Westbrook flirted with a triple double - scoring 15, handing out 10 assists, and grabbing 8 rebounds - and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar scored 12 points, grabbed 7 rebounds, added 4 assists, and blocked 4 shots.

    Game 3: Game,Blouses 97, new World order 84

    Full Play-by-Play
    Box Score

Defense gave Game,Blouses a strong start in this one. And Defense won the game.

new World Order were held scoreless for the first 2:39 of the game, shooting 0-for-4 from the field and turning it over twice. That allowed Game,Blouses to build an early 8-0 lead. And, for the game, new World order shot just 40.4% from the field.

The win means that the final game of the series will be winner-take-all. Winner wins the Grantland Memorial @};- League, and gets the home court advantage that comes with it in round one, and the loser gets 2nd place, and will not have home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs.

Leading the way for Game,Blouses in this one was Russel Westbrook, as he scored 22 points, handed out 10 assists, and grabbed 9 rebounds. Wilt Chamberlain scored 15 points and added 8 rebounds and 6 assists to the effort, while Kevin Durant and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar each scored 12.

new World order got 17 points and 8 rebounds from Kobe Bryant, 15 points, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds from Michael Jordan, and 11 points and 10 rebounds from Moses Malone

    Game 4: new World order 133, Game,Blouses 126

    Full Play-by-Play
    Box Score

Both teams were clicking in this one.

Game,Blouses shot 49.0% from the field, and made 43.8% of their triples. new World order shot 53.3% from the field.

Both teams put up series-high numbers for points scored.

But in the end, new World order emerged victorious.

Michael Jordan lead the way with 25 points, 9 assists, and 8 rebounds. Kobe Bryant added 34 points. Moses Malone had 16 points and 10 rebounds. And Larry Bird added 8 points, 10 assists, and 8 rebounds.

In the end, Game,Blouses will point to their 15 turnovers - compared to just 6 for new World order - and wonder what might have been. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar scored 27 points, and added 11 rebound and 5 blocks. Russel Westbrook scored 30 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, and dished out 6 assists. And, Dwyane Wade, Kevin Durant, and Wilt Chamberlain all scored 17 points.

    Final Standings:

    Grantland Memorial @};- League

    new World order 9-3 (+60)
    Game,Blouses 7-5 (-10)
    It's About Damn Time (5-7 (+6)
