Uhhhhhhhh... I can name two off the top of my head that are pretty deep... four depending on how you count... :p

well let's just put it out there. teams that haven't been picked (not including defunct franchises):

    marlins - very thin.
expos/nationals - i guess you could say "pretty deep". a few worthy picks, the end of the round looks pretty bleak though.
brewers - a couple solid picks, but overall i'd say thin.
    rockies - very thin.
    rays - very thin.
royals - about half a good round, then pretty thin.
astros - the deepest team left imo, and most likely where we're going with the next round. lots of pitching, a couple worthy position players.

edit: i forgot angels. i would probably rate them with the royals where there's like half a pretty good round then nothing. actually maybe closer to the brewers with only a couple worthy picks.

Yeah, let's trust the guy who put the D-Backs up on what constitutes a "deep" franchise.

Yeah, but I did that strategically. :p

I'd consider WAS/MTL and HOU deep, and then MIL and ANA depending on how you count...

I think Expos/Nats has enough depth, for sure. And Astros. But I have been spending waaaaay too much time of late on Baseball research sites.

The number of times I've almost typed out something akin to "HOW COULD YOU DRAFT THAT PITCHER, WHEN THAT TEAM HAS FOUR GUYS WITH SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER BASE OUT RUNS SAVED IN A SINGLE SEASON?" quite frankly scares me.

tom picking the Astros in a round where I should have a 1st pick would be perfect, in a perverse way.

tunes, i know you're being a bit tongue in cheek, but i just want to say that i don't really think i swindled you in that trade. i was honest about my intentions and only wanted to give you an opportunity to swap. i think you jumped at it before you realized who you were taking, and if you'd known it was going to be hershiser you probably would have been willing to gamble that he'd still be there when you picked. also i think you could have tried to add the second pick and drafted koufax and hershiser both, or argued for a straight swap of number ones so that you would have kept the 1st and 8th picks in the dodgers round and i would have gone for it. anyway, i don't know why i'm explaining all of this, but i guess i just don't want you to have a bad taste in your mouth about this draft, because so far it's really awesome.

I most definitely goofed, yes, but I'm still a bit salty that it was the allure of having the Dodgers in my control that was the basis for the trade; the franchise is incredibly deep in talent/picks... I didn't need to be the 1st player to have picked them. Hindsight is everything. :p

true that the same offer was on the table then, but i think i'm happy with mickey mantle vs. pretty much anyone who's still out there so i'm not sure you did the right thing.

Terribly sorry. If you want to pay me to post here, I'll quit my job.

Lot of tempting picks here, but I'm gonna go Lou Boudreau, 1948.

    @dp4m
