The Rules

The First EUC Knight Tournament is designed to test the Sith, Jedi, Imperial Knights, Jensaarai, Witches of Dathomir and Twilight Templars against each other in friendly, good natured competition. Judged on their form, dueling skills and general role-playing etiquette, a board of five judges - one from each faction and one from the EU Senate itself - will pick which one wins, with a small additional explanation.

The scene, positioning in that scene and the issues of whom duels whom will be set by the Judges, and after that each duelist will be given a week to post at least three posts each, taking turns, the first poster being the one alphabetically first, in the opening rounds. Judges will post their judgments, and interventions may take place during the duels led by the judges in their capacity as Co-GM?s.

    The Judges

    Dominion of Darkness Judge: SWBob
Imperial Knights and the Hidden Orders Judge: The_Loyal_Imperial

    Judgment discussion guideline
Note that all decisions made by the judges are final. You may question and request clarification on aspects of a judge's decision, but we ask that you do so in a polite and respectful manner, and that any major disagreements be taken to PMs, so as to not excessively derail discussion of the tournament. Remember, at the end of the day the judges are participants in the tournament and are looking to have fun as well.

May the Force be with you all, and good luck.

Sorry for the delay, folks. I've been busy with AFD work all around, and then I get to figure out the rules and such.

Since this is just the knights tournament, I shan't be playing as my favorite RP persona but rather a fictitious sort.

Alright, I've approved the battle order and the battlefield with three of the other judges, but I haven't heard back from the fourth yet. However, I'd really like to have this up now to give our competitors some preparation time. So I'll be going ahead with this now, and if the fourth judge has any issues, we'll try and work it out when and if we get there. So, here we go!

Welcome to the First EUC Knight Lightsaber Tournament! The competitors have signed up, been approved, and now we start! The order of battle is as follows:

    Duel 1

    Darth Paragon VS. Nord Nimajin

    Duel 2

    Aden Kya VS. Norval Ramblepot

    Duel 3

    Æneas Fel VS. Darth Nemisis

    Duel 4

    Aukanai'i VS. Dark Savior
Duel 1 shall begin tomorrow, on Monday (April 7th). Following alphabetical order, Darth Paragon will be the first to post, and then Nord Nimajin shall follow. Their duel will continue from Monday to Friday, and then judging will be on the weekend. The second duel will start on the Monday after the weekend, run through the week, and so on. We'll continue this until all four duels have been completed, and then the winners from duels 1 and 2 will face off against each other, followed by the winners of 3 and 4. After that, we'll have the two remaining fighters fight for the title of champion. The battlefield for the first round will be the [link=http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Geonosian_execution_arena]Geonosian Execution Arena[/link], minus the horde of screaming Geonosians, of course. Both fighters will start off in the center of the arena floor, but where they go from there is up to them (the arena gates are locked, by the way). Everything clear? Good.

    Good luck to all.

    Fight!

Darth Paragon, representative of the Sith faction, stood in the center of the immense arena with both lightsabers already in hand and lit. "Such an appropriate location for battle," the Sith thought to himself as his eyes wandered across the grounds, "it will be an honor to draw blood in the very same place where so many Jedi had been murdered." His eyes briefly closed as he tried to feel the presence of those slaughtered here, not only the Jedi but also the thousands who drew their last breath as the Geonosians cheered...for a moment he thought he could hear the applause but it was just an echo in the Force.

Opening his eyes again the Sith spotted his challenger, opposite him stood the man garbed in a simple jumpsuit and cloak of a similar color to that of the arena itself. Though he did not know the Knight, he desired to watch the man die at his feet nonetheless, after all any who opposed the Sith must die...even if the setting was a tourney. Such is the way of the Dark Side, it's calling so strong that it demanded nothing less of it's followers, even other Sith were not safe from this bloodlust. True to this calling Darth Paragon vowed to himself that he would destroy everyone he faced....or perish in the attempt.

The Sith, garbed in soft velvet robes blacker than a starless night reached up with his right hand, weapon still drawn, and pulled down the hood so his opponent would see the face of his would be killer. Wisps of stark white hair began to flow lazily around his head as the breeze grabbed them, and his ashen white skin appeared to be more appropriate for one who had been dead many months. In contrast to the pale complexion the Sith's eyes burned yellow and red, a common attribute of all who were dedicated to the Dark Side of the Force.

Knowing that the Dark Side favors those who seek any advantage Darth Paragon decided that he would not wait to exchange pleasantries with this man, Nord Nimajin the Imperial Knight. Having begun to draw the formidable power of the Dark Side to him from the moment he stepped in the arena he was ready to act, and as his hand moved slowly back down from his hood he pointed a single finger at his opponent, with a simple utterance his haunted voice revealed the Sith's intent..."Die!".

At that same instant the power Darth Paragon had drawn to himself was released at his target, and if successful the man would soon suffer wracking pain and struggle to move as quickly as he normally would, as the Affliction would be upon him. The Sith made no attempt to follow up this attack, he simply remained in his original location and brought both of his crimson blades to a defensive ready position. The game was on, and Darth Paragon was eager to see blood fall.

Nord sat on the rusty bench in the Arena ready room, just off to the side of the main arena. As he put his face in his hands, he thought to himself "well, old fellow, are you up to the task?"

As a frontier scout, Nord's experiences were shaped in the Unknown Regions, where his only contact with civilization came from a punch to the face or a hand on a blaster. Even Geonosis might as well be Coruscant. "It's been years since I've even thought about the developed worlds... but my goal, my goal is worth it," Nord again muttered to himself. With that thought, he reached down and shifted a hand full of sand through his fingers. Even the sand seemed finer, more agreeable to his touch.

Nord stood up and wandered into the arena. He paused just outside of the doorway and basked in the excitement of the crowd...He let the sights, sounds, and smells pour into him. Just then, something out of the corner of his eye caught his attention, and Nord snapped out of his dream state.

His opponent was already in the arena, standing at the ready...

The first thing Nord noticed was the fine velvet robes that the Sith wore, and how well he wore them. Almost instinctively, Nord stood just a little taller, brushed his unkempt hair out of his eyes, and slapped some of the dust off of his own simple cloak. He then started to shrug an apology, but stopped himself.

"Greetings, Sith." Nord exclaimed. "My quarrel is not with you. I'm after someone else in this contest, but to get to him, I have to beat you..."

Nord saw that the Sith stood emotionless, and only uttered a single reply- "DIE!" "Uh-oh" Nord exclaimed aloud. "What did I get myself into here?"

Just then, Nord felt a feeling of unease wash over him. Was it fear? Was it fatigue? Nord felt like collapsing right then and there. No, it was the Sith! His opponent was using the dark arts in an attempt to weaken him. Nord steadied himself, and drew his energy inward. Focusing on the positive nature of the force, Nord cleansed himself, and felt the Sith's affliction melt away.

"You'll have to do better than that, Sith!" Nord yelled in response. "Now that the theatrics are over, let's get this duel started!"

Just as the last word left Nord's lips, he drew his light whip and crouched into a combat position, standing ready for anything the Sith threw at him.

The consequence of the affliction was obvious and immediate, however no sooner than it had begun to take effect Nord braced himself and washed away the poisonous power. "You'll have to do better than that, Sith!" Nord yelled in response. "Now that the theatrics are over, let's get this duel started!" Stated the Knight boldly as he brandished a dark blue light whip and taking a stance ready for combat, the Sith found the choice to use such a weapon interesting but knew it would be futile nonetheless.

A wicked grin full of contempt crossed Darth Paragon's face as his burning eyes stared back, "Fret not dear Knight, I have much better to offer." The Sith rejoined as he pointed the crimson lightsaber in his right hand directly at Nord, at the same time his left began to spin briskly as he slowly began to close the gap between them. "Many have begged for my mercy, you will be no different before this is over." A fire of hate now burned within the Sith, and he wanted nothing more than to offer Nord's head as a sacrifice to his Dark Lord and Lady.

Taking yet another cautious step forward, Darth Paragon committed himself fully to the fight. In but an instant the lightsaber in his right hand pulled back to a defensive position, while the weapon in his left used the momentum gained by the spin to swing upward vertically seeking to sever the arm of Nord at the elbow. Though the strike came in fast this was well below that which the Sith was capable of, Darth Paragon only sought to pick at his opponent in order to find the weakness needed to end the fight in a manner of his own choosing.

Nord stood ready. Even as the battle had just begun, he could feel the waves of hate pouring from his opponent. "Sith are formidable, but they sure are full of anger," Nord thought to himself. "I suppose each aspect fuels the other..."

Nord saw that his opponent had started to advance. Not aggressively, as Nord would have thought, but slowly and confidently. Nord's muscles tensed as he waited for his opening. Just as the Sith closed and started to swing the lightsaber in his left hand upward, Nord spun to the right, and launched himself into a high, force-enhanced leap over the Sith. Nord purposely angled himself up and away from his opponent in order to take advantage of the superior range of his whip.

While in the air, he cracked his whip against the back of Darth Paragon's neck, and a flash of deep blue energy streamed in all directions. Nord knew that since momentum was carrying him away from his target, it wouldn't be a particularly strong attack, but he knew that the whip also had a stunning/disorientating effect.

Nord's leap carried him to a position behind his opponent and offset to his right. Nord knew that in order for Paragon to use his lightsabers, the initiative would again fall to him to close. When Nord landed with a *Thud*, he exclaimed "Hey, Sith! I'm sure the Geonosian Medics will offer you a discount on Bacta after that shot!"

Nord knew that his last remark was a pretty silly taunt, but he hoped it looked good when it was replayed over and over on the Holonet Sports News Service.

As the crimson lightsaber of Darth Paragon sought out it's intended target, Nord deftly avoided the strike by spinning to the right and from there went into a great leap which took him high over the Sith. Even before the Knight had reached the apex of the jump however, Darth Paragon was aware of the counter strike which was intended for the nape of his neck. Battle precognition forewarned this attack, and the Sith wasted no time in maneuvering out of harms way.

Deciding on his course of action quickly, the black-clad Sith shifted his weight and fell into a backward roll. He sensed how close the attack had come to hitting, and though it would not have been a fatal wound it very well could have tipped the balance towards the Knight's favor. This he would not allow, and he had in mind a counter of his own that would surely cause the courageous Knight some distress.

Finishing his roll, he quickly spun to face the Knight and came up to one knee while ensuring that his weapons remained defensively positioned before him. "Hey, Sith! I'm sure the Geonosian Medics will offer you a discount on Bacta after that shot!" He heard Nord taunt audaciously. "Feel free to ask about discounts during your visit, I will need no such services today!" Came Darth Paragon's snarling retort.

His right hand still firmly grasping the lightsaber, the Sith held out his arm and aimed directly at Nord's chest, a virulent grin crossed his face as he once again extended a single finger toward his intended victim. "Know the wrath of those who oppose the Sith!" He howled with malign glee, immediately following this his hand erupted with sparks of blue energy as a broad arc of lightning raced toward the insolent Knight, the Sith's backward roll had served to keep them in close proximity so Nord should have little time to react to this latest assault.

After completing his force-fueled leap, Nord landed with a *thud*, and taunted his opponent. Unfortunately, his whip attack had only whistled through thin air, as Darth Paragon had completely dodged the stunning blow. Perhaps more shocking than the dodge itself- Nord was expecting some counter-action from his target, after all- Paragon had delivered a taunt of his own. "Feel free to ask about discounts during your visit, I will need no such services today!"

Nord chuckled, "Deep down, this Sith has a sense of humor as well...But Nord's original taunt had another purpose, it masked the fact that he was using the precognitive abilities of the force to allow him to predict his opponent's actions. In the split second while it was unfolding, Nord couldn't be believe what the force was showing him:

Darth Paragon didn't roll away from the attack, he actually rolled into it, and closed the distance between them.... Pivoting around, the Sith stood up and let loose a burst of Sith Lightning.

Relying on the precognition, Nord pivoted, using the force to increase his natural agility. Spinning around in a blur, he easily dodged the lightning.

Nord yelled out "You know what they say about over-confidence, Sith!"

The Sith's initial backward roll was both daring and impressive, but it gave Nord the opening he was looking for. Standing there, with his arm outstretched, Darth Paragon made himself an easy target. Nord used his force-speed to give the whip a life of its own, and the whip was grateful for the gift. Deep blue energy sizzled all around Paragon, as Nord delivered dozens of blows. Taken together, each sonic crack of the whip sounded like Nord was using an automatic rifle and not a force whip at all.

Nord stood back, ready to survey the damage, and/or to accept the Sith's yield.

OOC: Sorry this took so long 44, I had about 12 inches of snow to shovel when I got home from work. I hope this is early enough for you to get one last post in before the match is over.

I also wanted to say before the judging begins, regardless of who wins this I have had a lot of fun RPing with you and enjoyed the experience very much. It was a huge surprise to find that you Rp'd as well as you can, and you pushed me hard in each post.

Good luck in the voting round. [face_peace]

    IC: Darth Paragon
    Geonosian Execution Arena

Darth Paragon had a look of arrogance upon his face as the deadly bolt of lightning raced toward Nord Nimajin, surely this attack would be the one to finally put the impudent Knight in his place. The reality as it unfolded however was far from what he desired and quickly his expression turned first into one of frustration, then soon after horror, as the Knight not only dodged the force powered energy but also countered with a barrage of counter strikes.

His moves were little more than a blur, and his blue hued whip darted to-and-fro as if it had a life of it's own. Obviously the man had used the force to enhance his speed, and at the moment it was paying off in spades. Though having two lightsabers had many benefits, one of which was the defensive advantages, but even with them he was already feeling the burn of fatigue. Darth Paragon knew that if he did not act immediately he would be defeated, and the thought of that angered him to no end.

Focusing this energy the Sith called upon the dark side to once again do his bidding, and enhanced his own speed to neutralize that of Nord's. Up until now each strike was getting closer than the next, but now with the dark side's aid he was able to keep his two blades in constant motion, and the whip at bay. The visual effect of the blue and red energy weapons whirling about, and often times clashing, would be stunning to any of those watching.

As Darth Paragon parried he also back stepped in order to put distance between him and Nord, at least enough to keep from being engulfed by the whip. Just as he had begun to do so however, Nord stopped his attack and seemed to simply stand there accessing the situation, this confused the Sith greatly because Nord had the advantage and if pressed the Sith surely would have been struck eventually. "Foolish Knight." Darth Paragon scolded, "Just when you had gained the advantage, you let it slide from your grasp." He added in a matter of fact tone.

His words were true, the Imperial Knight could have won if his barrage had lasted but a few moments longer, but the real meaning behind the Sith's lecture was to gather energy in order to create his own advantage. With no further warning the Sith opened his mouth and screamed, at first it sounded normal but as it continued it became a deafening howl full of rage and hatred. As the scream endured it's effects would soon become apparent to the Knight, and the dizziness felt by those who heard it could not be purged.

With his speed still enhanced by the dark side, Darth Paragon then darted forward with his right handed blade drawn back and ready to slice off the head of Nord, his other blade held in a defensive position before him as a precaution, if Nord tried to use that whip again he intended to try and catch it and keep it out of action if at all possible.

    IC-Nord Nimajin

Nord started delivering his punishing blows, one coming faster after the other.. After achieving the initiative at first, Nord noticed that Paragon sped his own actions up, and actually started blocking Nord's whip strikes. As Nord stepped back in order to allow his target the chance to yield, he realized that he had forgotten the primary lesson of combat- Never show mercy to a Sith...

If Nord thought the Sith was full of hate before, he hadn't seen anything yet. The Sith's hatred seemed to show no bounds, and Nord was surprised to see the Sith snarl and let loose an unholy scream. The sound of the scream itself hit Nord like a Bantha had sat down square on his chest, and he could no longer focus directly on his opponent. Or opponents, as Nord now perceived Paragon with double and triple vision. "Hit the one in the middle," Nord quiclky thought to himself. Nord didn't have time to think of anything else, as the Sith pressed his attack.

Almost instinctively, Nord again called on the force to deliver him away from the Sith's attack. Using both speed and jump, Nord disappeared straight up and away from Paragon. When Nord landed, he observed the blurry form of his opponent out of striking distance. Nord didn't quite know what would come next, but he had a feeling that both of them were at the limits of their endurance.

Nord looked up, and thinking of the worse cliche' he could muster, he muttered, "I'm getting too old for this...."

OOC- Yes, I thought this was a great duel, and even in this limited space, I really like how the fighters developed. Much good luck back at you.

Good duel, both of you! =D=

Now, of course, it is time for the judges to make their decisions. I shall go first. This was a far closer duel than I'd expected, both competitors were very close to being evenly matched. However, one of you did manage to pull out ahead when it came to one thing. Description. One thing I noticed with Mr44's writing is that he always referred to his character as "Nord", while Despised1 would say "he", "the Sith", or something else. The lack of variation made it awkward to read in some places.

Overall, I do think that Despised1 was better with the description in his posts, and slightly better when it comes to dueling as well. His dodges and evasions were well-written and colorful, and his attacks clever. So, my judgment will go to Despised1, though it was a close one. Good luck to both of you. s65horsey, MASTERPRENN, SWBob, and MarcusDade are up next.

Good duel, duelers. I will warn you before my judgement that I am harsh, but I am fair. So do not take anything I say personally. I am trying to not only pick the winner, but also show you everything you did right and wrong so that you can improve as a role-player.

First off, Despised you should never describe your opponent before he describes himself. I realize that he posted the color of his clothing in his sheet, however that is OOC information. Using that information in your post is very bad role-playing etiquette. You always wait for the other person to describe themselves before you do it. The color of sand he is thinking of might be something totally different than the color of the sand in the arena. Also, I am endlessly annoyed at people who try and play Sith as these mindless killing machines that desire death. SITH DO NOT DESIRE DEATH. THEY DESIRE POWER. There is a very big difference. Also, you have many times where you do not explain your character's actions. There should be a reason why he wants his opponent to die other than "he's opposing the sith." That explanation is very flat, and honestly its stupid. Everybody who plays a sith always wants to play them as mindless killing machines who hunger for blood and death. In fact, very few sith had that mentality and usually the rest of the sith couldn't stand them. I.E. Nihilus. In the future, it would either be more realistic to not make him someone who is just "death death blood, destruction, death death death" or explain in either your character sheet or his posts why he is that way. Also, to be honest, when you had your character scream "die" I rolled my eyes and sighed. You pretty much made your character look like the mold of almost every other sith I've ever seen played by role-players. And to be truthful, that kind of Sith isn't very enjoyable to read. I'm not going to show all the times that you show your character to be quite flat, because their quite many. Basically, what you really need to work on in the character department, is creating a more well rounded character that doesn't seem like a cookie cutter cut-out of the bloodthirsty killing machine many people wrongly think sith are.

Also, in your second post, your movement is very confusing. Your character...spins towards Nord? What, is he a ballerina? That part just seemed ridiculous to me. However, other than that your dueling is sound. While it may be flat in terms of description, you stay well within your limits and the force powers Given to you. If I were going on points, because of your dueling, but yet your flat character, I would give you a score of 6 out of 10 for this duel. However, that has nothing to do with my judgement. That's just for your own good to see how good I thought your writing was. What you really need to work on, is being more descriptive, and trying to play a more well rounded character that is enjoyable to read. To be honest, your character in this duel was a chore for me to read. But your dueling was sound, an overall reasonable.

Now onto MR44. When you started out, your character description was quite decent. However, you left a lot of details out. You say he took in the scents and sounds...what did he hear? What did he smell? If you tell your readers these things it will bring us into the story much more. Your character was a bit more interesting to read, but still was quite flat. I think this was mostly due to lack of description, whereas the reason the sith character was flat was due to a lack of character building. Your dueling was decent, however what really destroyed you was your attack in your second to final post. You had your character speed up, and basically went into "Welcome To Godmodeville!!!!" There is no way in the entire universe that you would have been able to do all that, especially with a light whip. Basically, the only way you could have Godmoded more was by just saying, "I win. You lose." In fact, in the end of your post you only give your opponent two choices: Have damage, or yield to you. This is where you lost t

    IC: Darth Idoneus

Idoneus watched the duel proceed with a smile on his face. He loved to watch people fight. It gave him ideas, and since there was a Sith in the duel, it gave him a chance to eliminate some compitition without having to dirty his hands.

When the duel ended, Idoneus sighed, Stupid time limits. Standing up he walked down to where the rest of the judges were. He had taken a higher seat than the rest, hoping to get a diffrent angle than the others. He then adressed the two combatants.

"First off I would like to say a very good duel. To me, this has been a very hard one to judge, esspecially being the first match of the tournie. You supposed to let me streach my legs out a little with an easy match to judge. But back to the point. On godmodding, I didnt really see anything that stuck out to me. The only ting really on that was when 44 jumped over him and his post said, While in the air, he cracked his whip against the back of Darth Paragon's neck To me, this seems like you are saying that it hit the back of his neck, which would be godmodding. But t could just be my interpritation. But even if it was It was cancelled out by Despised when he shot lightning out of his hand, while still apperently holding his lightsaber. I dont know about you, but to me there would be some damage on the blade after that. Now I dont agree on Marcus on the fast whip thing. I dont know about him but i have seen some pretty fast whip cracking by those sholin monks(check this video. go to about 2:00 to see what I mean. Combined with force speed I can easily see him being as fast as an automatic weapon."

"As for creativity, I saw a lot of potential that never got used in this duel. I wont go into deatail, just next time be sure to use the powers available."

"Well this has been increadbly hard for me but I have to vote for Despised1. But a very good match by 44. Very good on both sides.

    Truth.

    The True Way.

    Saarai.

Aden Kya knew the word, and, as a Jensaarai wrestled with it every day. While the galaxy tore itself apart in this very arena, the Jensaarai leaders became Sith, allied with Lord Tyranus himself. Aden knew the histories, knew that the rest of the Jensaarai were too ill-trained to find the hooks, and only those whom had been Jedi Knights fell. Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader became one and the same; hated.

Truth was, thus, a very subjective thing for any Jensaarai.

By following the wrong truth, the Jensaarai had been purged by the Jedi, and by the Sith. It was only later, much later, that they had met the Skywalker, that they had found the ?right? truth. But then, the Jedi had been purged entirely by the Sith, because of Lord Krayt. And, so, when Aden entered this tournament, leaving his home of Susevfi, it was to find the truth in all factions. Surely the followers of truth would be protected by it?

Jiaasjen had been invented by the Sith Larad Noon, and Jedi had nurtured them from it, towards being followers of the light in every aspect. But, now, the Jedi were gone. How could they be vindicated? Was Jiaasjen the answer?

As Aden stared at his opponent, he realised it was a Jedi, and he knew that he would only find his answer from him. Igniting his green lightsaber, Aden spoke as he moved his hands to the lightsaber hilt, one near the blade, the other lightly holding the end. Pointing it down, he began weaving it before him, leaning slightly forward but his hands away from his chin. ?Jedi! I am Aden Kya of the Jensaarai! I am here to find the truth, and in the name of Saarai, I call you to battle!?

He advanced, slowly. The walls of the arena were far away, but Aden was sure to remember how far. Two, maybe three leaps away, and he?d be up among where Geonosian spectators had sat over a century and a half ago. He couldn?t see the box Lord Tyranus had stood in before him, so assumed it was somewhere behind him. A fourth leap would bring him there, looking down upon his opponent. That very thought mingled in his stomach. Jiaasjen was about integrating shadow, not becoming it. He had to be very careful about this.

And that was, at very least, some facts he could cling to in a tide of truth.

    IC: Norval Ramblepot

Sand. It was everywhere. The ubiquitous substance working it's way into every nook, cranny and crevice it could find. It irritated the skin, blinded the eye and slowed any movement that one might make. All in all, not Norvals favorite thing in the world. Abently the Corellian wondered why it was always sand in arenas, and not something that didn't hinder movement? Were he to make one, it would be a solid surface with some give. An exercise mat, for instance. Sadly, that was neither here nor there at the moment.

The Jedi was dressed in non-standard clothing, soft, black, krayt dragon leather pants, stylish boots made from the same material. His orange synthsilk shirt moving smoothly across his body, or it would as soon as the man decided to make movement a priority. Long black hair was held in a ponytail, and piercing green eyes gazed at his opponent.

Sadly the only thing that could be observed of his opponent at that moment was the sense that the man gave off, which was that of one verging on pure wrongness yet somehow remaining absent from it. This was impressive in it's own right, and would recquire thought later on as it smacked against everything he had been trained.

Continuing to observe the man before him, the Jennsarri, Ramblepot stretched out with his senses to encompass the whole of the place in which they stood. Pain, defeat, misery and ultimately death were what he found, and it sent a shiver down his spine. This place was anathema to all Jedi, especially since the massacre that had happened to spark the clone wars oh so many years ago.

Shuffling his feet, Norval waited for the Jennsarri to do something, as was the Jedi way. Never attack your opponent, always defend. It wasn't something that the Corellian quite agreed with all of the time, but it was a part of the code that went with what his life was founded on. One did not simply break the code. At least not lightly.

Finally something happened, as the man across the arena decided it was time. Grabbing his blade in a vaguely unusual stance, one hand near the front of the blade, the other near the top with the brilliant green blade pointed towards the ground, the man spoke. It was merely an introduction, stating his name and what order the being was in. Aden Kya. It is a strong name, likely for a strong man. He would remain wary of this strong named individual with his strange way of battle.

Slowly Aden advanced, and continued his talk calling the Jedi to battle in the name of Saari which Norval found he had no clue what was. That didn't temper the fact that there was now a lightsaber wielding being slowly marching towards him, and would likely eviscerate the Jedi as soon as look at him given that they had been called here to fight. All in a days work, and what not. Carefully taking a ready stance with one foot before the other, arms spread for balance, but refusing to ignite his weapon until the last moment (it was closer to a Soresu stance than Vaapad, but it was all part of a ruse), "And I am Norval Ramblepot. With a heavy heart do I accept this challenge that has been forced upon us." A bald faced lie, as in truth the Jedi lived for the fight, the hunt. It was a side-effect of Vaapad, as one had to enjoy the fight without falling within it. Dangerous indeed, which is why so few Jedi practiced the style. There was undeniable power in it however. "Tell me, what is this Saarasi of which you speak? The short version, as we don't have all day." Norval remained where he was, waiting for the other to come to him. Waiting to dance.
