I think my first bit of EU anything was the first issue of Legacy.

Hm, difficult question. In Sweden we had a Star Wars magazine that contained selected stories. But i think they started with Dark Empire.
Ican't remember if i played Dark Forces: Jedi Knight II at the same time. :)

For me it was Splinter of the Minds Eye back in the mid 80's, followed by some comics every now and then. When Heir to the Empire was released was when I went nuts for everything EU related. It was also the beginning of the time when I started my SW collection in earnest

First Tales of the Jedi TPB. Made me go out and buy the Dark Lords of the Sith comics as they were coming out. Sold my individual comics, but still have that TPB.

Tales from Jabba's Palace was the first EU book that I read....after that I dove head first into the EU but I honestly don't remember which was the first I owned as I borrowed most of them from the library initially....it might have been Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina because I have a vague memory of not being able to find that one at the library.

I believe mine was Tales from Jabba's Palace. I actually had read all three of the Star Wars novels before seeing the films (this was right around the time of the THX releases in 1995).

Mine was Heir to the Empire.
Back in 1997, shortly after Christmas, when I got the SW trilogy on VHS.
There was a little leaflet in the box that showed some merchandise, and when I saw that there were books, too, I had to raid the next bookstore as soon as the shops opened again after Christmas. :D
At New Years Eve, I had already read the complete Thrawn Trilogy.
Needless to say, I was hooked.

Croatian translation of the Heir to the Empire and original of one of the YJK books - incidentally one of the first novels (along with Harry Potter) that I read in English. :D So yeah, thanks SWEU, for giving incentive to a 11-year old to learn English. xD

Mine was Dark Empire, it was Number 4 of the second line of Star Wars comics in Sweden.
I was very confused by the art, ha ha

Splinter of the Mind's Eye in the 80's and then Heir to the Empire in the early 90's. From Heir onwards I was hooked on the EU

KJA's Heirs of the Force and the rest of the series. But I really enjoyed Watson's series which I read next as I recall.

YJK #1 from a used book store, then Splinter of the Mind's Eye, and then Heir to the Empire much later. It was Heir that really got me into it though. First comic was the Quinlan Vos omnibus.
