The first shot and beginning of EpIII... What I hope it will be...

Well, I don't think it will open up with an argument between Obi-Wan or Anakin, or even be their first scene together.
But I think it will heavily come into play somewhere in there.

 

How would you fit an argument into a pan-down into space?

My idea seems to work due to the reason listed above. (George said the end would be more 'personal' this time as opposed to 'grandios' so the beginning would make sense to have the 'grandios' at the beginning, the Clone War is going on so starting with another battle from the war would make sense, and seeing the "Star Destroyer-esque" ship start off the movie would be a heckuva experience ).

Well, we know what Lucas said about the beginning being the clone wars and so we can assum almost 100% that the opening shot and crawl will have to do with the Clone Wars. We have to see Obi-Wan as a general, like someone said. This is easy to see, because in AOTC Yoda was leading the entire charge of clone troopers. As to what planet, I think it will be a new one. Every movie introduces a new planet that has great signifigance. Why would Lucas not stick to his normal game plan?

I really like that idea Sithman. Veeerry cool. Just after the crawl, which mentions the fact that the Republic is about to fight its most potentially dangerous battle of the Clone Wars yet, it tilts down to show the Star Destroyery things and Jedi Starfighters. Wow!

What would be even cooler is if Anakin were piloting one of those starfighters, possibly even commanding the squadron, and then loads of Confederacy fighters (so we're talking Droid Fighters and Geonosian fighters) come flying there. Now what I wonder is, who will get the TIE Fighters, and who will get the X-Wings? The Empire is seemingly going to form from the Republic, so will the Republic get TIEs and the like, and then later when the Loyalists turn into the Rebellion they get X-Wings? I hope Lucas makes it good.

But to start the ENTIRE movie with the big battle as you are proposing, well it is amazing! PLEASE MAKE IT HAPPEN THIS WAY!

 

I'm really hoping that the first scene will be of the final, deciding battle of the Clone Wars. I don't know if we should have something like a star destroyer flying overhead though. It would make that first scene in ANH lose a lot of it's coolness for those who have never seen it before.

 

I had a dream a couple of weeks ago about the beginning of Ep III. In it there was two opposing forces in a fighters just before a huge space battle.
I mean ridicoulously huge, thousands of ships lined up ready to face each other, it was cool.

 

Well, that I can think of, the only "pan" we haven't had in the PT (or any of the SW movies for that matter), is a large forceof ships. I can picture a pre-Star Destroyer or two escorted by Jedi starfighters heading towards a planet or something.

 

Perhaps a tilt down to a Trade Federation ship, moments before it is blasted to pieces by an attacking Republic force.
The republic fighters swarm around the wreckage as a Star Destroyer glides across the screen.

Then cut to the bridge, where a Jedi general and his apprentice are supervising the bridge officers in the attack...

After each Star Wars movies besides ANH starting without a pan-down to immediate action, I think it would be great to start epIII that way. It grabs you immediately, which is so Star Wars!
