The blaster is useful and all, and is so powerful that Fenn should have some difficulty dealing with it, but his hand to hand feats are what put him above Fenn.

    1. Tackles two Sith Lords in a row.
    2. Withstands Force lightning from Darth Malgus, while still being able to draw his weapon.
    3. When engaging Malgus in hand to hand, they're both equally as strong.
    4. Sets off a detonator which hurts Malgus but not himself.

If you take on one of the most powerful Sith Lords in history twice in a row and are fine, then that's gotta put you pretty damn high on the character list here.

I think that's a bit of an aggressive interpretation, I wouldn't call him "fine" after those two encounters haha. To peep them in the trailer...

    1. Runs and gets hit by the Force lightning (1:54)-- he can draw his vibroblade but is immediately shot back and knocked out before he can do anything (1:59).

This results in him being captured and sets up Satele's slo-mo debut to interrupt his beheading (2:38).

    2. Runs at Malgus again but his tackle doesn't bring the guy down, and his headbutt is absorbed (3:43). They trade blocked punches but Malgs seems pretty in control until the thermal det.

And that det def affects them both-- it actually blows Jace back and onto his belly (3:54) where Malgus is only shown on one knee (3:57). Malgs gets up to confront Satele, who blows him through rocks with the Force, while Jace doesn't even get up until after all that's finished (4:31).

Again I don't wanna be a jerk to Jace! The bravery he shows is awesome and that trailer is so visually dope. But both encounters end in him knocked out of the fight, with one nearly ending in his execution.

Meanwhile Fenn's been knocking dudes out his whole career (these are a collection of frames from the 1977 Marvel Star Wars run)...

And that's only if it gets to hand-to-hand at all. This location is pretty sprawling and lends itself to ranged combat, where I think Fenn's major advantages-- more and better-suited equipment (jetpack, rockets, flamethrower, darts) and a wealth of experience under his belt against troopers just like Malcom-- become magnified.

ALSO reading through the old Marvels to get those frames reminded me that Fenn has had run-ins with hoojibs. HOOJIBS! He'll be well-prepared if any Gungans stumble into this battle, which lbr is the most dangerous thing that could happen in any match this round.

I feel I've done a bit of a disservice to Fenn (still think he would've wasted Jariah, especially with PORG support!). So here's a better rundown of his experience:

    1. Fights through the Clone Wars, this is a nice little overview from Star Wars #68. There's actually a continuity issue there saying he fought next to Boba (who AotC makes too young for that), which was corrected by old Abel G. to say it was a rogue clone (Spar). This puts Shysa at several battles for the CIS during those years.

    2. During the Galactic Civil War, he re-established the Mandalorian Protectors. This is where he appears during those Marvel panels, also capturing Dengar and waging a campaign to prevent the Empire from enslaving peeps and mining beskar (elaborated on in the Rep Commando novels).

    3. Post-RotJ, he leads the Protectors against Blackhole’s meltmassif-armored shadowtroopers. And since it's a novel, there are some nice pieces on his abilities...

First is how he and 7 commandos were holding off 2 companies of heavy infantry. An Imperial company is described as 200 stormtroopers in one of the Visual Guides— aka Fenn and 7 dudes were holding off 400 guys:

Here’s him going to work, emptying his rifle and going in hand-to-hand:

And then, as the Shadow Base begins breaking apart with the gravity drivers ripping free, he goes berserk on all the shadowtroopers:

    4. At Shogun, he saves Boba Fett’s life at the cost of his own. There aren’t many details about it and I’m not advocating it as a feat, but it’s a cool little wrap-up to a career of carrying the Mandalorian legacy.

For Jace we have...a trailer where he gets knocked out twice and another trailer where he fires off his heavy blaster. It's nice, it looks cool, but it's not in the same conversation as Mandalore Fenn Shysa.

All of them are pretty close (and I appreciate the args!), but Fett, Fenn, Padme. Too much inconsistency from Phasma, Fenn and Jace are both beasts but I think Fenn is more capable of pulling off something crazy or unexpected than Jace is, and Padme preps well (plus homefield advantage) and Pre has shown he can be outsmarted and handled by capable opponents.

My sincerest apologies to @ma_petite and @heels1785 : I done goofed. In set 1 I read the 10 slot instead of the 1 slot for some reason [face_plain] So we need to redo some of these un(?)fortunately.

BB/Poe vs. Rukh/Thrawn could be hilarious

Canderous vs. Iden could be dope as hell

Kallus isn't gonna know what hit him with Guri

For Mezhan, a few things to her advantage:

--Sabine's best weapon is the Darksaber (it's what she used in probably her highest-visibility fight against Gar Saxon), which Kwaad will A) know about, and B) be able to protect against with living vonduun crab armor, which has the bonus of likely taking Wren by surprise and giving Mezhan an opening.

--Speaking of, Sabine's not gonna be able to surprise Kwaad with any of her normal accoutrements like the repulsor. Mezhan will have a heads up to avoid it and can also use singularity mines & dovin basal variants to hit her with gravitational forces herself.

--Beskar is a huge advantage as armor, but with prep and her shaper's hand (+ some Mandos on her team who will be more than happy to help) Mezhan can whip up plasma to attack its unique molecular structure.

    Jas Emari vs Jedder Page
The battle between these two will be short. Jas is a skilled bounty hunter with many weapons at her disposal and was able to take on many opponents at a time. Jedder was just a member of the strike team on Endor, which would not help him in the end even with Special forces training.
    Mr. Bones vs Talon Karrde
Although Bones and Talon are both apt at fighting Mr. Bones has an advantage that Talon could never possess. Bones can lose limbs and will still be as ferocious as ever. He has programming in hi. From general Grievous. These facts combined is why I think Bones can take down Talon.
    Canderous Ordo (prep) vs Iden
Canderous Ordo was a highly trained Mandalorian warrior who fought with Revan and eventually became the leader of his people. He has never had qualms about killing others, which I cannot say for Iden (sparring Lux’s life) . Being able to scout out the terrain and know his enemy will give Ordo the win in this battle.
    Zaalbar vs Jyn
Zaalbar and Jyn are pretty evenly matched when it comes to weapons and the like. However Zaalbar will come out on top due to his strength, which Jyn does not have.

Tempted to disagree on Jar Jar > forfeti: if anyone isn't winning vs a forfeit, it'd be Jar Jar, right? ;) but I'll stay with the Binks.

    Actually disagreeing on:
    Emari < Page
    Bones > karrde
    Big Z > Jyn

    Kwaad < Sabine
