Speaking of Mara and acting like stuff never happened, I remain saddened that Traviss didn't take the opportunity in Sacrifice to have Mara approach Kyle (rather than Kyp) for advice, and refer back to their reciprocal apprenticeship.

Not really relevant to shipping, of course (dismissing the joke I always make that it's just a Jedi euphemism for "Order 69") but I think it would have made for a better scene.

EDIT: Hell, they could have even had them discuss the issue over a sparring session, which'd have been an even nicer nod to MotS.

Ha, yeah. Still, I genuinely believed it had potential.

I'm still a fan of Cade/Marasiah. Canon as per the original comic of them sleeping toether, but then retconned later to be Blue in the omnibus.

 

What did we figure out they would be? 4th cousins or something? Well, much better than Cade/Gunner in any case.

Have you not noticed the copious amount of perverted detail Denning puts into Alema's attire? I can always count on Denning to let me know if Alema is wearing underwear or not.

Alema is straight out of fetish porn. She's dat blue alien, she's a former stripper, she's coy, promiscuous and crudely flirtatious, she doesn't wear underwear and the clothes she does wear are skin-tight (even described as several sizes too small) and do not come close to fully covering her and before the end she's bat**** insane, terribly scarred (but not her face!), an amputee and walks with a limp.

Don't make me get out Dark Nest and quote that detailed description of her attire that mentions (I think) that her pelvis is covered, yet makes a bare vagina reference anyway.

Stackpole/Corran.

I never read X-Wing comics or anything so I never knew that Winter and Tycho was a thing. When I read Jedi Academy I was totally shipping Wackbar.

Also, I genuinely like Luke/Mara and Jag/Jaina. Can't go past those guys.

 

My brother only recently found out how Corran becomes Miss Mary Sue later on, so he would also agree with the Stackpole/Corran ship.

Out of the X-wing pilots, though... I'd ship Ooryl Qrygg with Samoc Farr. I would have gone Ooryl/Lujayne, but she croaked before I could. She would have been perfect for Ooryl, too, seeing as how Lujayne was THE HEART OF THE TEAM THAT WILL NEVER BE LIKE PORKINS!

I feel bad - in the handful of posts I've made on here at least a third have been bashing Stackpole and/or Corran. Stackpole made Dark Tide in NJO absolutely unbearable. I hate Gary Stus.

 

I don't have anything against Stackpole, but the way some things were written in Rogue Squadron were very difficult to follow. I'd mention on how it required me to read the passages out loud and act out certain descriptions to better understand them, but we've been down that bumpy, bumpy road in another topic. One's reading skills tend to lure the scrutiny of certain members.

But, yes... Corran. Though, since we're doing author/character ships now, I have one that hasn't been mentioned, to my knowledge.
