Lit A/V The Force Awakens and the EU [TAGGED spoilers.]

Some of those are titles to game ideas that became The Force Unleashed, such as Jedi Master and Rogue Jedi/Jedi Outlaw.

 

I would have liked to see the previous idea for The Force Unleashed where it was set 1000 years later and the Jedi and Sith worked together or something like that.

 

To be fair, that book came out in 2008 and those titles were canceled by LucasArts themselves. Most of them are also just alternate titles for other games on the page.

 

I would have liked to see almost anything else besides what TFU ended up being, and I actually liked TFU as a game, I just don't care for what it did to the founding of the Alliance to Restore the Republic.

I may not particularly care for the song Somebody That I Used To Know by Gotye, but it describes exactly how I feel about Star Wars as of late thanks to the post-NJO and TCW.

 

Didn't I say something like this when this all started? Yes, I did. I'm stil convinced that the plot needs to tie itself to the plot of the previous six movies. And using the same villain is a simple way to do this. Add in Lucas' official love for the "Palpatine back from the dead" story and Episode 3's quest for immortality and I'm not quite sure what else the movie could be about.

In comparison, having a new evil come out of Luke's experiences or the Skywalker genes (i.e., Luke or the Skywalker offspring turning dark) would be a bit complicated. And some new Sith who happened to have been offscreen during the other movies would be too weak.

Not that I believe in internet rumours...

Huffington Post did a piece on this, and wonders when we'll get a title. But, more hilariously, they posted one of the original trailers for TESB featuring an extremely excited Harrison Ford as narrator. Worth listening to, IMO. I'm not sure he's ever been so enthusiastic in regard to SW.

 

Ford seems grumpy about every part of acting except getting a check.
