Lit A/V The Force Awakens and the EU [TAGGED spoilers.]

Never before the promos, I'd say. But the last time I noticed a continuity error was half an hour ago, when I checked the Essential Atlas for Ilum's day's length. And it was 66 standard hours. If it is 66 hours, how can the night be 19 standard days long, eh? Answer tha-

And then they went and made it about Starkiller! How AWESOME was that!!!

I'm likely to believe they are directly related. I suspect that Lucas made the moves to set up the series for continuation so that it would make it more marketable to other companies, thus making it a more enticing acquisition.

 

Well, we assume they went and made it about Starkiller.

But, hey, after Ghost Prison, () I'd be more than willing for Blackman to do a TFU3. Especially since Witwer's commented to the effect of: "Needless to say, taking Lord Vader prisoner is a BAD IDEA".

Which sounds like they'd know what they were doing.

 

Agreed. I think it would be very interesting to have the strongest Force user in SW to have a non-Force user child. We need more of them in the main cast (which is why I think it would have been very cool to keep Jacen alive, but cut him off from the Force, making him a "squib").

And yeah, it's not absolutely clear (could be ambiguity, but knowing Karpyshyn, he probably just forgot or hadn't made up his mind ), though I prefer to think of him as a squib (oh, how I dislike that term, since I can't separate it from the Waru forsaken Squibs)

 

The TFU storyline does need to be continued somehow.

 

In the interest of making sure Starkiller isn't an antagonist or hero in the Disney Trilogy, I suddenly find I have a renewed interest in a TFU3, any TFU3, so they can hurry up and kill him off first.

 

Something just occurred to me. Can the plot actually be about something that was not already done in the EU? The EU has been going so long, there might not be anything that's truly original left for Episode VII's plot.

• Fragmented Empire / Imperial Warlords: see Bantam era
• Invasion: NJO
• Super-powered beings: Waru, Abeloth
• Dark Side Force users / Dark Jedi: Joruus C'Boath, Nighsisters, etc.
• Sith Reborn: Lost Tribe, One Sith, Lumiya, Vergere
• Emperor Returns: Dark Empire
• Giant Killer Insects: Dark Nest
• Solo children kidnapped (or attempted): every other Bantam novel
• Rebuild the Jedi Order: Jedi Academy trilogy, recent Del Rey novels

What could the plot actually be about?

They could just adapt Darth Vader and the Ghost Prison and call it "How Vader got his Groove Back".

 

I actually am kind of hoping they pay Carrie Fisher a boat load of money and hire her a personal trainer to get in shape for the ST. Maybe they can dub her voice

 

When we least expect it. It's always set my alarm to "least expect" time. Never fails.

TFU3 needs a character like Trachta. And more angry CIS ex-pats.

 

Summer 2013? You mean like... July 2, 2013 when Crucible is release? Coincidence?

 

The reall reason all this is happening? the Ultimate kingdom hearts. A four way battle between Dr. Doom, Darth Vader, Maleficent, and Sepheroth.

Unless Doom has some powers I'm not aware of, I've only read some of his silver age stories. Then again, he always does seem to have just the right crazy technology... maybe a device that makes Vader's armor rust?

 

The Big 3 passing the torch at last, and then at least Han and Luke passing away.

I'm betting on Plagueis as the villain, with a Sith army invading. And the remants of the Empire end up saving the day at the very end, when all hope seems lost for the Jedi and the Alliance.
