Everyone must absolutely watch the Holiday Special with Rifftrax. Followed by Santa Meets the Ice Cream Bunny.

 

If it wasn't for Rifftrax, I'd never have gotten all the way through it.

I wouldn't think they'd be allowed to do that, since Lucas is so adamant about it being purged from the earth.

Even so, one must watch it without Rifftrax at least once. You cannot experience the wookiee's weird LSD trip with someone talking over it.

It's not our fault you don't enjoy good things.

Well this is an uplifting conversation. I just can't remember how we got from Episode 7 to porn in The Holiday Special?

 

I can actually say I enjoyed the Holiday Special without irony when it was broadcast - at the time, prior to being able to see Star Wars again outside of theater, and being a little kid, it was awesome. (And truth be known, most of 70s variety shows were that awful, so it was difficult to know better)

Ah, the great thing about Rifftrax is that they don't need the permission of who they're riffing - they simply provide an audio track of people saying stuff. It's up to the buyer to have the actual movie/show they're riffing (except in the cases of public domain material, which can be sold together).

 

You forgot the bacon.

But seriously, for all we know there might not be such a big gap between the two...

 

That's interesting. I've never actually watched a Rifftrax, though I've seen a few Mystery Science Theaters (awesome).

Of course, it would be a tragedy to accidentally watch the Holiday Special out of sync.
