I once swore I would never see Batman and Robin ever. After watching it with Rifftrax, I've seen it like a dozen times.
Watch the samples at rifftrax.com, and when you watch Bella being carried through the forest to the strains of Yakety Sax, your heart is stone if don't laugh.
Starcrash was pretty decent after drinking a bottle of vodka with orange juice. Man I haven't seen that movie in a long time.
My favorite line: "I hope you can swim, Mr. Bane!"
My favorite topical line - during the pointless "race" that Robin and Batgirl participate in for what seems like five hours - "I want to call up Podracing and apologize"
Robin and Batgril racing is wizard!
EU authors polled for their thoughts on the ST and the EU. Karpyshyn expresses his view that the ST should be for adults like him. Kemp wants to see Jaina Solo or a strong heroine in the films. JJM would like to see Pope Land--err, Chancellor Lando. etc.
Star Wars authors discuss what they'd like to see from the Sequel Trilogy.
(Nabbed from JJM's FB page)
Jello is a ninja.
In related news, Ewan McGregor wants to star in JJM's Kenobi.
I would rather have a Kenobi spinoff than the Han or Fett ones, tbh.
As for the EU authors -- I agree with Karypshyn, Allston, and JJM about wanting to see the Big Three just retire and sit down for once instead of that blaze of glory nonsense. And I agree with Kemp, Denning, and Allston that if any EU characters were to play a major role in the films, it ought to be Jaina.
Reading that whole thing, Allston is the one who most comes across like one of us - he'd rather the ST just leave the damn Skysolos alone already.
Pretty much this on everything
With all the talk of getting the OT characters back, the only one I could see being bought back and not for simply fan service (cough 3PO,Boba Fett and Chewie cough) would be a quick cameo by Luke in the wise Jedi Master role, but that's pretty much it.
I sure as hell do not want them back with the 60's are the new 40's rubbish excuse
Yeah, you killed her brothers, remember?
Come on now...
Glad not everyone is obsessed with killing Luke, Han and Leia. Allston's last comment was spot on.
Allston's responses are pretty much perfect.
Karpyshyn's is pretty much perfect self-parody. Also, I really, really want him to get his wish of Bane movies, and have them be completely based on JVS.
I think Allston just spoiled Serenity for me
Not all coincidences are good, I suppose.
I get wanting to see Luke fade away Obi-Wan style, but I'm surprised by the "blaze of glory" stuff with the others...
I think the spoiler period has expired.
It's just that I was planning on watching it tomorrow
All I'll say is that he better not be the only one to die
Just don't get too attached to River. I mean, Zoe. I mean...
Notice that there has been no sequel. Ever wonder why?
Money make the world go round.
Probably better if I don't check this thread anymore. I'll be very annoyed if you aren't being facetious
From what I understand, Serenity had a very mediocre return at the box office... so that. So the Serenity explodes and kills every cast member, eh?
I'll go against the general view and say that I found the authors' interview quite disappointing. I would much have preferred to read their various opinions about what they thought and what they hoped would be the fate of the EU. It felt like the interviewer threw a couple of softball questions that everyone and his dog have already answered because he didn't dare throw the more interesting - but potentially more controversial - EU-specific hardballs I mentioned.
