FF:NZ The Force Unleashed thread

Has anyone else been following the development of this project? Seems like they're doing the same thing as with Shadows of the Empire ... having everything except the movie. A novel, a game, comics, toys etc. I don't know if they'll go as far as putting out a soundtrack, like they did with Shadows. Read more here:

I've been reading all the spoilers for the novel online. IMO, it seems like the original main character is a total Gary Stu ... he's an uber-powerful Force user, Vader's secret apprentice, who is ten times more powerful than any Jedi or Sith seen in the movies.

 

Yeah, crazy powers are all fine for a videogame, but the Force of the EU is absolutely ridiculous compared with the Force as seen in the movies.

Heh. Yeah, the force is ridiculously inconsistent between the films and (what I know of) the EU. But then, I've always thought the EU was pants.

has anyone read the novel & or graphic novel of this ? it's pretty good

hi there, suppose this is sort of on topic, I live in Wellington and I'm attempting to find a magazine for the Wii, would prefer the official Nintendo one but can't seem to find anything, I've tried Whitcoulls, Borders, Magazine store on Lampton Quay (Magnetix??)but had no luck so far, any suggestions? I was hoping to pick one up with a force unleashed preview...

 

well i got it for my PSP, not much of gamer but am loveing it

 

i am enjoying it on the Wii

Excellent darkside lightsaber to go with it

just hard to find time to play it now #3 has come along
but enjoying it so far

Does anyone know what Star Wars Lego is like? is it any good?

Ask JP's kids for a review. I'm not sure if JP's even finished it yet, but his kids give it a good thrashing. I haven't played it much, but it's worth the $, huge replay value too!

Yep. Ditto. Both Lego trilogies get a hammering on the ol' PC.

Force Unleashed for PS2? Might rent it first. Can't justify the $$ for a 360 or PS3

 

Here's another vote for the Star Wars lego games. I see there's a Lego Batman game out now.

admiral_Jim, there's a number of large magazine stores in Auckland which may get in a specialist Nintendo mag. Borders and Magazino come to mind. Last I knew, Borders offered a postal service, so if you called their Queen Street or Sylvia Park branch, they'd likely send it to you.
However, their air freighted editions of magazines tend to be fairly pricey ... like I think it's actually cheaper to buy the Star Wars Insider from overseas than buy it at Borders.

 

Quite keen to get my mitts on Lego Indy. Anyone played it?

 

Bits of it. being a grown-up really cuts into one's video game playing time.
