Office of the Prime Minister, Coronet, Corellia

Thom's earlier assessment of the woman proved to be correct through a brilliant display of swordsmanship and a true affinity with the Force. It was actually quite scary at how fast she managed to dispense of the remaining assailants. That could either bode very well for him or spell certain doom. The woman was dangerous, that much was certain. Did she truly intend to protect him or had she been dispatched to take care of him herself but stumbled upon an assassination attempt already in progress, leaving her with no other choice but to defend him?

Those thoughts were still in the back of his mind as he brought himself to his feet. He brushed bits of dust and debris from his pant legs and straightened his jacket to make himself more presentable as the woman started to speak. "Prime Minister? I hope you are not injured?"

He paused and slowly raised his gaze to look at her, catching the end of a bow in the process. It was a tired gesture and one he didn't immediately appreciate, but he let it slide for now. "I'm fine...thanks," he replied, his tone hinting at a bit of sarcasm.

His eyes darted cautiously around the room, half expecting more assailants to jump out of the shadows at his comment. "I have to say, that was...quite a display," he pushed on, trying to gauge her reaction to determine which side she was working for.

    Ruins of Capital, Nesron

Longstar found his footing after bracing against the powerful Force push Lord Vibre had sent against him. In the same moment his opponent took the opportunity to flee with the rest of the Sith forces, and Arek was quickly overcome with a feeling of unease. It seemed to come from everywhere, and was an ominous thing at what should have been the enthusiastic conclusion of another victory of the Jedi Protectorate.

Something was off. There was a thick fog in the Dark side hanging low over the battlefield. The Sith were disappearing in all directions with haste, in what Arek knew could only be a strategic withdrawal. Recalling the commander of the forces stationed on Nesron, Lediath, he brandished his comlink. However before he could even speak, Lora Skywalker crackled in, ”Arek, I need you in the command center,. Her voice even and calm, Longstar assumed she was already with Master Lediath. “Copy that, I’ll be there soon.”

He yelled for the nearby Imbued Hertstrom to assemble what was left of Atlas Group and move them toward the command center as well, and to comm him with the status of the battle in orbit. He went ahead, surveying the scene of the carnage as he progressed. As far as he could see before the ground and sky dissolved into chalky dust clouds were piles of rubble, broken bodies and blast craters. Not much of a world worth fighting for to be honest.

Passing through the thin line of defenders still standing, he received several grim and solemn nods. Beings in Republic armor and uniforms were repairing ramparts and reloading weapons, while some just gazed off into the nondescript distance where the enemy used to be. Among this latter group, Arek experienced a moment of intense empathy for those whose minds had become unhinged by the chaos.

He felt tears well up in his eyes as if his body was acting out someone else’s emotions. It stopped him in his tracks as his Jedi training failed him; he was unable to push the sorrow from his subconscious. Things became more intense, as he now dwelt on the sacrifices and untimely deaths of those resisting the Sith: the Jedi and their Imbued. Traitorous thoughts to be sure, and ones he himself would never entertain.

Reaching down to the pouch of lightsaber crystals on his belt, whose wielders once sympathized with such ideologies, he held it up in front of him. As if knowing they had been found, the rush of alien emotions left him as quickly as they had come. With a shake of his head like clearing out a bad dream, he replaced the pouch and moved on toward the command center. Truth be told, he needed them, the crystals. They were a symbol of how far he had gone for the Jedi, one he was not soon to forget.

The ship of Myrah began to tremble already when Callista made it up the ramp. Torben gave another savlo of shots into the spreading troops of the Jedi and then he leaped up and pushed the button to seal the ship. The chidlren were crying, afraid, panicking, but they were all on board. a quick look and callista would see that in the center section there were even more kids. Those she had helped save had been the final group, but obviously far from being the only one.

"By the force." Torben gasped out and if callista turned she saw it, the troops had reached one of the other two ships were entering it guns blazing. "There are dozens of children aboard." Torben´s eyes widened in shock and then their ship turned, so he could no longer see the ongoing massacre.

Myrah saw the opening of the cave and as her ship accelerated into the nightsky she could also see clearly the threat that was looming over the escape. Three destroyers from above and around them the familiar swarm of starfighters. What chance di they have against such numbers of fast and powerful vessels?

The special breed of Imbued troops the Inquisition used, often referred to as The Pure, was awaiting the two Jedi and their prisoner in two well ordered lines. White and golden armor and long pale force pikes were building a path between their straightened bodies showing their Masters respect. "Move, you got orders." Lila only said as soon as they left the shuttle. One of the guards, a man without the mirrored helmet and a bearded, aged face instead stepped to her. Obviously they were familiar with each other. "Mistress Lila, we got an attempt to escape. A single ship, registering 64 lifeforms on it." Lila looked at Erian and then sighed. She handed Masaya over to another two of the Imbued. "Children? Let them go." Lila sighed and wanted to turn to Erian. "The high inquisitor send his orders. nobody is allowed to leave the planet until he arrives, Mistress Lila." The Imbued with the grey beard said and his eyes were probing her. Lila turned back to him and stared right back. "What are you waiting for? Then shoot it down?" She shook her head and turned back to Erian. "We will obviously obey the high Inquisitor´s commands, will we?" She asked her Imbued commander, but was looking straight at Erian while doing so.

The Inquisitor kept his hand in place and both Selonians were gasping as they collapsed to the ground. But the head of the man slowly turned and looked at the ignited lightsaber in Urijah´s hands. "Who are you to think an Inquisitor of the Jedi Protectorate would take commands from you, hm?" He turned around, facing Urijah fully now. "You are not a Jedi I am familiar with. but neither you are a Sith." He assumed and the people slowly stepped back as the Inquisitor hissed out air and began to walk towards Urijah, circling him. He was angry, agrresive and et in the force he had a powerful presence. Lagore was nowhere to be seen. He had not commented or paid too much attention to Urijah´s comments but had rather silently vanished into the many faces of the crowd.

Urijah watched in a silent sadness as the last two Selonians fell to the ground. "Who am I?" Urijah said sternly to the blonde jedi. "I was a Jedi similar to you, until people like you started to do this," said Urijah, gesturing to the three selonians with his free hand. "And I by no means a Jedi by your standards for sure." The man started circling Urijah and he began to reach out with the force, trying to feel how strong his presence was. It was quite significant, but it was flawed with anger.

The Jedi circled him a second time and Urijah closed his eyes feeling out with the force to decide his moment to attack. He found it. The Inquisitor was to his right and Urijah launched himself at the other Jedi's weak side(hoping he was right handed) with a powerful side ways swing across his body. He was determined to make sure this didn't happen to any other innocent people or Cilarn.

Erian's countenance was pale, his eyes closed tightly as if he could simply ward off what it was that left him feeling sickened. There was fear in the Force, abject terror and pain. Death. The children... Force, the children. He had not felt such a disturbance in the Force before, not even with past massacres done by the Sith. Perhaps it had been because he hadn't been close enough or maybe because he hadn't been so open to the Living Force like he was now.

"We will obviously obey the High Inquisitor´s commands, will we?" he barely heard Lila over the din in his head.

"Let them go," Erian heard a strained voice. It took him a second to recognize it as his own. "We are not murderers. We do not kill the innocent." He met Lila's gaze with a pained one of his own. Although his face was impassive, what he was feeling in the Force reflected in his eyes. "Too many have already died."

She was a teenager and yet she had just slain three elder warriors with relative ease. She had to smile at the "display" comment of the prime minister. It was a compliment. She was hardly used to compliments.

"Only Imbued and rather unitiated ones, I´d say." She looked around at the three lsain men. "I expected more from the Jedi." She commented then and looked up to the Prime Minister. She wondered if he had already realized the assassins had been send by the Protectorate.

"Where are my manners? My name is Zara Zorn. My Master send me to protect you when he grew aware of the upcoming assassination." She bowed a bit. "At your service." She added with a smile.

Reaching out with the force she checked the third time that the imminent danger was over and finally accepted she had won.

    Name: Arjen Meade
    Age: 33
    Occupation: Rogue Jedi
Appearance: about two inches shorter than the average human male. Has messy short brown hair with bright green eyes. He wears mandolrian armor integrated with his Jedi robes that he dyed dark gray. His saber is purple.
Special Skills: Arjen is a near genius in languages, knowing all of the basics and some dialects of high rarity.
    Bio:
Arjen was a member of the Jedi engaging on multiple occasions Sith. When promoted to Knighthood he was sent to the planet Ryloth for his use as a translator. There he along with his old Master battled over the allegiance of the planet with Sith Negotiators. There Arjen met and fell in love with a young twi’lek named Aci Lednessin.
The two became regularly seen together and the Master in an attempt to help Arjen stay on the path of light ordered her to be sent to a different refugee camp. On the way there her and many other twi’leks were intercepted by slavers who captured Aci. When Arjen received news of her capture he was crushed. And before his Master could offer any advice on the matter he was slain during an attack on a Sith encampment.
Arjen, in his state was deemed unfit for duty and sent back to the Jedi temple. There he was assigned to help the Librarian. He took this opportunity to download the Jedi’s list of known and past slavers. He turned his back on the temple and high jacked a ship and has left the order.
Currently Arjen’s whereabouts are unknown. The Jedi deem him as rogue, but not dangerous and do not have him as a top priority. He was last seen somewhere near the outer rim after a bar scuffle with a known slaver that left three dead. A bounty was placed on Arjen by fearful slavers who fear an end of their business
Arjen’s allegiance lies with no one. Though the Jedi and the Sith have on occasions asked for his help in a translating situations and by offering false leads on Aci. Arjen is willing to join whoever can bring back his love. He can be seen studying Revan’s teachings of both Light and Dark sides of the force.

    Morcanth, Wild Space, The Sevi-Outpost

Morcanth was a planet mostly left alone by Great War and far away from any known presence of the Sith Empire of Jedi Protectorate. Occassionally a few Hutt slavers had come here and usually found the resistance of the hardenedcolonists to be a bit too much to handle for the few slaves they could harvest. Here in Wild Space people were natural survivors.

Arjen had been here for several weeks, before he met a friendly trader who had offered him a ride around the various outposts.

The man was called Avon and he had offered Arjen Meade a ride to the Sevi-outpost. A rare occasion it was for two strangers to meet and they had travelled through the endless deserts of the outback planet together. When they finally arrived at the outpost the tension was obvious. People were dragging their children to their houses and the militia talking to upset colonists on the streets trying to calm them down.

“What happened here?” Avon asked a passing Weequay with a troubled look and the man answered in flawless Huttese. Avon did not speak Huttese, but Arjen did. [They are coming! They are coming to take our children!] The man spitted out and pointed to the center of the small community near the giant communication array they were having. [They are coming to take our children!] He repeated again and looked at Arjen and Avon as if he hoped they could help.

“What is he saying?”Avon asked with great concern and stroked his full black beard, his hand on his blaster.

    Vencin Dermun
    Nesron, Republic Lines

Ven actually spotted Master Skywalker nearly as soon as Lediath finished speaking. Out from the carnage of the recently-finished battle was the legendary Jedi Master; alone but very much alive which caused Ven to let out a sigh of relief. Her power, status, and importance to the war was strangely absent from his mind; he was just happy that she was alive. The young Padawan tracked the older Jedi but as soon as she disappeared back behind their lines, he lost sight of her.

Instead, he saw someone else. But upon sighting that person, there were no feelings of relief there.

    “Isn´t that Kae?”

"...Yes," Vencin confirmed after some hesitation.

Even before he had entered the war, Vencin had some knowledge of Terryn Kae. Well...more precisely he had some knowledge of Kae's Master who had developed a reputation of training multiple Jedi, all of whom who would go on to develop a reputation for themselves as soon as they left his tutelage. Kae had been the third such student. There had been rumors that Ven would've actually been next but the Padawan didn't put much stock into them; other then the fact that he'd heard a lot of rumors of certain, well-known Masters that were taking an interest in training him during his time on the Temple, he also hadn't heard much from Kae's former Master lately which, in this war, could mean that he was dead.

Either way, he had never personally known Kae. The only time they had met face-to-face was that one time. Briefly. At Bakura.

The very name of that world caused Ven to inwardly flinch. He had bad memories of Bakura and while the Jedi and the Republic lauded it and its participants as a fine of example of the Republic's efficiency, Ven tended to duck down whenever that world was brought up; if anyone wanted to speak about it with him he just pretended he had something he needed to do and moved on.

Ven had a vague recollection of their meeting but he couldn't remember much. At the time, Ven had been confused, uncertain, and all-around overwhelmed due to what happened on Bakura. Hardly the right state of mind to give much of an impression to Kae. When he tried to remember, a lot of it was a blur when it came to the aftermath. He gave his report, got his debrief, was allowed to inspect what he had wrought, and was then sent back to the Temple for a small break before it was off to the next battle; this time at Nesron.

But he knew Kae's reputation...as well as the part he played on Bakura.

Two Jedi who happened to be on Bakura are now here, Ven thought with a vague sense of suspicion. It was probably unwarranted; Nesron was supposed to be the turning point so the Republic would send anyone they could to this battleground. Still...Ven's first time back on the field and it happened to be the same field that Terryn Kae was on as well.

Ven suddenly jerked when he noticed that Kae had also spotted him. Trying not to make it too obvious, Ven stared back evenly before he slowly turned and tried to find something else to do. Unfortunately, there wasn't much that one could do after a particularly fierce battle and, despite his weariness, Ven went out to see if any wounded need assistance or if there were any dead that needed to be cleared. There were probably a lot of both and hopefully Kae wouldn't pursue a conversation if he saw the Padawan working.

    Terryn Kae
    Nesron Battlefield

The laborious business of transporting the dead had always pained Terryn’s back more than actual fighting. The art of spinning and swinging a lightsaber was something he had learned even from a young age. Something his master perfected, something that made his lightsaber just an extension of his own arm. Perhaps his master’s tactics had never been the best, but lightsaber techniques were something Terryn had always relied on. During training, during war, even during rest, he thought back to sparring with his master.

A Twi’lek female with only one lekku lay amongst the masses. Her other lekku was detached, several feet away from her body. Besides that, it was obvious she had been stabbed in the chest. Terryn collected her lightsaber, his mind flashing forwards and backwards in time. He could see another woman’s face, except in fear. A primal fear, as she realized her life was soon about to end. Of course this woman before him was a Jedi, and the other, long before, had been a Sith, but nevertheless. . .

Terryn heard voices. Simply talking, the talking of men some bit away. As he picked up the Twi’lek’s body, he noticed two padawans standing some bit away. One caught his eye for just the fraction of a second and then looked away. But Terryn could of swore he recognized the kid from somewhere. He had seen so many padawans, so many knights, so many Jedi, that it was hard to distinguish one from the other. But this one. . .this one always seemed to radiate a fear beneath that calm exterior. Yes, he knew he recognized the boy from somewhere. Bakura, the planet where nightmares had been born. He was the conquerer of Bakura, one of the many heroes from the battlefield. And yet even he had felt dirty, scared. Terryn delivered the body of the woman to the appropriate place, and then approached the young man.

“Padawan,” Terryn called as he approached, “Padawan, you seem so familiar. Did we serve on the battlefield together, at one time?” He needed to gauge just exactly what the boy wanted to say first.

“They said slavers are coming” Arjen remarked. He lowered his hood and took in his surroundings.

“Well that ain’t good” Avon slowly replied, the man seemed like he hadn’t decided on his actions awkwardly holding the blaster in his hand now.

The citizens were hurrying by and bumping past the two men like they weren’t there. Arjen lightly graved the arm of an older woman and spoke to her in her tongue [“How many usually come”] she looked at him worriedly and answered for what meant “a dozen”. Arjen released his grip on the women and she scurried off.

“I don’t expect you to stay Avon. If anything I’d feel better if you left” Arjen commanded without emotion.

“You can’t just...take on twelve slavers. Hell, even if you beat them the Hutt will have a bounty on your head so quick that you’ll have bounty hunters looking every which direction for you!” Avon seemed relatively concerned but his timid stance said he was willing to fight but wasn’t sure if he was willing to die. “You don’t even know these people”

“It’s not for these people. They took something from me. I’m going to get it back” Arjen replied and swept Avon’s hand off of his shoulder and took his saber in his left hand.
“A Jedi?” Avon said aloud in a confused tone.

Arjen ignored the remark and looked ahead of the road where a dust cloud was rising in what was no doubt the slavers. He planted himself in the middle of the road. As the speeder grew near he motioned for Avon to leave. The man partially complied and took cover behind a pile of rubble.

Arjen whispered foreign words to himself.
He slowly raised his right hand and stood directly in the speeders path. He closed his eyes and ignited his blade.

The young woman introduced herself and bowed with a small smile. From his vantage point, Thom couldn't decide if it was out of smugness at what she had done or a humble gesture at meeting someone with high standing such as himself. Considering how quickly and effectively she had dispatched his would-be assassins, he settled on the former.

Thom offered a smile of his own and nodded his head slightly to accept her gesture. "Zara Zorn," he repeated softly, his brow knitting a bit as he tried to place the name against the thousands that came across his desk everyday. It was a fruitless endeavor, especially given her relation to the Jedi or the Sith or...

He sighed. He was slowly beginning to realize that lumping the two groups together was no longer pertinent. If anything, this particular incident proved that. Zara Zorn had revealed to him that the Jedi were responsible, solidifying his intentions to ensure that they never had free reign in Corellia again. The Sith, on the other hand...well, just what were their intentions? They had saved him, haven't they?

"Although, I wonder," he started, now curious as he stroked his chin. "How did your...Master...find out about this particular attack? He must have quite the intelligence network if he foresaw this act even before my own men." He chuckled lightly, trying to downplay how unsettling that statement truly was.

"Or maybe the more appropriate question should be - why the Jedi?" Somehow, he thought he already knew the answer to that question and inwardly braced himself.

    “Padawan,”

Somehow Ven managed to halt the instinct for his body to jerk at the calling, especially since that there was only one person that would be seeking him out so soon. That in itself meant that Ven hadn't been successful at eluding Kae's attention. For a moment, there was a brief sense of fear along with the idea that if he ignored the call, maybe he would be ignored. Immediately Ven shot down that outrageous idea; there was no point in ignoring this and, really, it could only make things worse if he did.

So, with his back still to Kae for a couple extra seconds, the young Padawan slowly straightened. He took note of all the aches and pains and the weariness that he felt considering all that had happened but, even though he was still young, he could muster up the willpower to overcome it if only for this chat. It was only then that he turned around and faced Kae, taking his first, real good look at the other Jedi. Nearly a decade older then him, Ven could see where Kae stood in the Jedi Order, specifically as a perfect example of the modern Jedi; all battle-ready with armor that covered much more then the modest vest of composite armor that Ven wore over his robes. If anything, what robes that Kae did wear seemed to be....out of place when compared to the rest of his attire.

Terryn Kae was known as one of the most vicious warriors out there and Ven could clearly see that. Despite not taking as much battle damage and wear and tear as Ven had, the young Padawan could see that Terryn was nonetheless one of the warriors made under the tutelage of his Master.

"We met before," Ven finally spoke. "Once. On Bakura."

He had debated on whether or not to pretend that they haven't met or, at the very least, pretend to forget where they had met but Ven doubted that either excuses would hold for long. Especially when it came to their reputations. Though Ven's name wasn't as widespread throughout the Republic when compared to Kae's - as Kae had been the one that did most of the fighting - he was nonetheless better known within the Jedi Order for being the one to raise the alarm about Bakura. Any farce that Ven tried to hide behind would be temporary at best.

So, with his back straight and face neutral, Ven gave the older Jedi a bow while introducing himself with, "Padawan Vencin Dermun."

Somewhere between the ground and liberation

There were benefits to being an HRD. For one the analytical processors that made up her mind allowed her to do many processes at once, that in an organic might cloud their mind. She could run countless background processes and dozens of foreground thoughts, internal and external actions, all at the same time. For example, her logical data analysis sector recalled an earlier thought and applied it to the current situation. Probably twenty minutes ago she’d mused the thought that the Jedi Seer had chosen her carefully, through the force, for her skills and knowledge. Fast forward to the now and a situation had presented itself where she was in key position to help, and had it not been for Saya’s machinations, she wouldn’t be here.” How exactly could she help though? Well the physical external actions were setting that up.

She reached out and placed her hand by the control panel for the door. A physical connection was preferable, and she made use of it. She could feel the wiring underneath the surface, electrical signals, both energy and data moving from node to node within the ships infrastructure, and she smashed into it, on a metaphysical level. She projected herself into the system, two places at once, a physical body and a digital avatar, well more than two, but only those two mattered right now.

The physical her stood in silence, looking as though she was holding on to the wall in preparation for turbulence, but if Toben took the time to look he’d see her eyes unnatural blue glow at the moment. The digital her, aglow in the luminescence of data strings and interaction algorithms sped through the ships internal computer systems traveling from hatch control into the central processing system of the ship itself.

Defense programs registered her as an abnormal entity, a presence that should not exist in the system and moved to attack but they were simple defense programs, intended to stop dumb malicious programing, not an advanced artificial intelligence that could program such creations in her sleep cycle. She blew past them, leaving them with logic bombs that bombarded them with logical inquiries with constant changing variables, questions that could never be answered because they were never the same one millisecond to the next. She then accessed the central computer.

The ship was a Loronar X-Series freighter, not what she’d want to be doing an escape attempt in but it would have to do. She could feel Myrah’s controls from the cockpit as she piloted the ship, she’d leave that to her, it would let her handle defense. It was what Callista was good at. She accessed the ships sensors, she needed eyes and what she saw didn’t please her. There were dozens of fighter vessels between them and open space, and beyond them, were warships. She could also sense the children as well, internal sensors showed them huddled together, scared.

~I will not let them die.~

The weapons were practically useless, but they could be used to their advantage. She altered the power-flow to the weapon systems, just enough to fire, to look like the ship had teeth, and she transferred the rest to the engines, Myrah would hopefully notice the increase in power and make use of it, that was in her hands now. The rest was simple, relatively speaking. Callista had in the past controlled warships, hundreds to thousands of meters long, processes and subroutines and more weapons and sensors than many could count; a freighter was nothing in comparison, which meant she had a lot of processing power to throw around.

She transferred sensor telemetry to the guns and the shields. The guns wouldn’t do much, but they could herd the crowed. With the sensor data predicting where the fighters would be when the bolts would pass the turrets began laying down a sporadic array of fire, not aiming directly at the fighters but putting up a wall that forced them to turn away or be hit.

With the shields she did something similar, every time the sensors detected an incoming laser blast shield power was transferred to a 3 foot radius around the predicted hit point. Rather than protect the whole ship, she was defending the parts being hit, essentially throwing every ounce of shield power into blocking every bolt, it was the best she could do with what she had. All she could do was keep it up, and hope that Myrah could get them past the warship, because even with focusing every bit of power into a single point, this ship would never take many hits from one of those monsters.

Even a droid sometimes had to rely on nothing more than faith.

The first hit came from one of the batteries of the leading battleship. The transponder identified the behemoth as the Justice and it was now beginning to throw a barrage of green energy at the small freighter, as it´s fighters split and reformed, only to split immediately, as the freighter opened fire and reform again. Twenty four fighters soon were two squadrons, two groups of six and finally the classical three man formation. For a moment they seemed to hesitate, they seemed to wait for orders, but then they turned and came for them. Hundreds more were already approaching them from the periphery of the battle formation. The Jedi wanted to make very, very sure they did not escape. A second hit and Callista saw the even despite her excellent work this ship was reaching itßs limits. Energy broke down, sparks flew and the main converter overheated. Shields were down to meager five percents. Another hit and they would be dead.
“Now damned! Now!” It was General Torben yelling orders. And somewhere farther away the first explosion lit the night sky, as the Vjun defense belt recognized it´s new targets.

“Jump as soon as you can, no matter where to!” Torben yelled and closed his eyes in a silent prayer. They had five, ten seconds now probably. That was all they would ever get.

“Sir, we have direct orders . . . “ The Imbued looked at his direct superior Lila and Lila sighed. “You have your orders, Commodore. Neither of us is empowered to overpower the High Inquisitor´s commands. Shoot the ship down and report.” She said and nodded. “Erian, what is wrong with you? Murderers? You just called the Protectorate troops murderers? They are soldiers fighting a war and like any war this one calls for innocent regrettable victims. That is the reason why we try to win it, why we are hunting those traitors, remember? Had they not taken those children and tried to get them to the Sith, why would we need to kill them now?”
Lila put her hand on Erian´s shoulder. “I´ll leave this out of my report, Erian, but be careful when the High Inquisitor arrives. He has turned against Inquisitor´s for less disobedience than what you just did.”
She turned to leave, shaking her head. On their left side Masaya was brought to the prison complex of the Justice.

Inquisitors were the elite in the Jedi Order, trained to hunt their own kind and to overcome enemies trained in the force for decades if they had to. This man was no exception. Skillfully his blade came around and blocked Urijah´s attacking weapon. He leaped back and then forth immediately, unleashing a series of quick and powerful attacks. Less to kill Urijah but more to test his abilities. “You dare to attack a Jedi and judge over him, without even knowing his mission. Is it madness that possesses you or have you fallen, my brother?” The Inquisitor hissed his words through his teeth as he kept attacking the younger man with high and low blows.

Things were actually not what they seemed though. The speeder stopped and not only did the men jumping out of the vehicle not look like slavers, they actually ignored Arjen, except some short looks on his lightsaber. “Pal,” Avon said, who was still nearby. “That are no slaver that are coming for the kids.” He said and pointed to the market place they had been pointed to earlier. They could not hear anything, but even from a distance the larger than life holography of Leto Fel, high Inquisitor of the Jedi Protectorate was clearly visible. It was projected by a droid which had obviously landed only recently. And still half the village watched the announcement in terror, while the other half was running around, dragging children from their homes and talking to officials.

“Looks like your brothers are coming.” Avon smirked, looked at Arjen and then turned to leave as fast as he could.

The war had catched up with Morcanth. The Jedi were coming to draft those children into service.

Erian scowled at Lila but the harsh words he wanted to say to her remained unsaid though it was clear he wanted to say something in reply to her. Instead he chose to remain silent and closed himself off to the Force and everyone around him. He did not want to feel the deaths of more innocents when the Imbued shot down the ship. He only prayed that their deaths would be quick and painless.

"Just get me to a bacta tank," he growled under his breath irritably. He should have known better than to think that Lila could sense what he had felt in the Force. She was simply a more gifted Imbued pretending to be a Jedi. They're all pretending, he thought as his gaze flickered about the hanger. They have all forgotten. I've forgotten.

He wasn't sure how he was going to get away to travel to Tython. He couldn't now with his leg and when the High Inquisitor arrived, any chance he would have had would be gone. There would be too many soldiers and Jedi aboard The Justice by then. His only option, he figured, would be to simply wait until after.

Until then he would heal and meditate.

Urijah took a step back as he easily deflected the barrage of short, but strong attacks the other Jedi sent his way. There was a reason he served as a guard to so many Alien royalties. “You dare to attack a Jedi and judge over him, without even knowing his mission. Is it madness that possesses you or have you fallen, my brother?” hissed the Inquisitor at Urijah. Urijah remained silent as he let his Soresu training take over, examining the blonde Jedi's style and trying to tire him out as he contemplated of his answer.

"You know why I attacked you!?" Urijah yelled over the hissing and crackling of the connecting lightsabers. "I attacked you because you were killing innocent people! And for what reason? To kill another innocent person who only wishes to help people?! Urijah finished that sentence with a powerful force push that sent the other Jedi over a bench on the sidewalks. "Maybe it is madness that has possessed me, but if it is, is this is an Order where doing the right thing is considered madness and murdering people who have done nothing wrong is sane? Tell me, please what has Cilarn does that makes murder necessary? Did he refuse to kill another harmless person? I can only imagine how many more must have fallen to your blade in vain to locate Cilarn. That is something I except from a Sith! Not another Jedi, or maybe there is no difference between the two anymore, but please ask yourself this, brother, what sounds worse to you? A man defending the unjust death of three people or the man killing those three people to get to someone that has done nothing wrong and only helps a plagued race!" This situation had deeply angered Urijah as he shouted the last words almost through the force hoping to make some impact on this other Jedi or unlikely intimidate him to some extent. He stood there with his lightsaber down breathing heavily from the speech he had just shouted at the top of his lungs, waiting for the other Jedi to get up and respond.

    IC: Mufassa Odi
    Nesron, Hills

Mufassa regathered himself, the parts of the packs grouping together as if a mega pack. Links shifting as pairings formed, broke, and recoalesced until two whole packs were once more formed with a few extras standing as the shard of a third pack. In the end though, they were all Mufassa, and Mufassa was all of them. So it was with a grumble of disatisfaction they mounted the last of the hill, with the sith and human imbueds parting around them. Some from respect for the deadly nature of hir hosts, and some out of fear. It tasted stale compared to emotions that from the Jedi he drunken in so recently, and flavors though inticing to his mounts no matter the followings nature, felt more like a home that he was uncomforteable to be in without a task or meal. Where the sith were a strong aroma of variety but of certain tastes always supreme, the Jedi had had a unique flavor that seemed more palatable and subtle to consume.

After all that had happened he was still hungry, hir bodies, hir mounts, still thirsted for something more. As hir Master came and spoke to them, s/he found themself shocked, openly a third of hir mounts eyes widened to reflect their riders off key menstrations due to that shock. A compliment, a rare thing, but shock quickly passed into a smug satisfaction as all heads bowed a nod as one to their Master. The mention of a feast drew eyes to look around themselves, and a few sith that were not his Master took a small shuffle away, quickly finding somewhere else they needed to be. Still his Master spoke on of sith Lords and situations that may yet call for an interesting and worthy feast for themselves if things went a certain way.

As they left the regular army, that tainted the air with some releif, and headed toward an old temple. A place of beasts and dark simple natures, hir master shocked hir again.

“You found her, did you? You faced Skywalker?” He asked Mufassa. Curiosity and respect, two rare attributes were in Vibre´s voice. The war changed many things and brought forth sides of Mufassa´s creator never seen before. And it surprised him so that he did not speak for a moment as they walked.

"Ye-s." s/he growled out from a single body near Master Vibre. "In Re-treat, she felt. . .like Sith, for moments." It was a confession, a note of uncertainty about the one named Skywalker that he had faced, however briefly. Her power had been fierce, and fast. What truly set her apart though, was the power that she backed those qualities up with. Others he had killed may possess one or the other, but both? With power for both? And the hate, the darkside being called so. . . . It was leaving Mufassa at a loss to describe her beyond the fact that she was like a Sith, perhaps more apt would be to say a Sith Lord.

Where did Lagore know it from? Zara had to smile. "Prime Minister, even if I knew, I would not be allowed to reveal the Sith´s sources of information. I am certain you understand." She lay her head aside and and stepped over the parts of the dead attackers, summoning the lightsabers to her hands one by one and attaching them to her belt. "What I can reveal to you is why the Jedi are after you."

She looked around and nodded satisfied. Then she returned her full attention to the Prime Minister. "The Sith have an advantage for the first time in the decades this war has been going on and the Jedi believe it is because of the defiance of some of the Third Republic´s members to fully commit to the the war effort." The Sith had actually predicted that, her Master had told her. They had not thought the Jedi´s reaction was in the realm of the possible, though.

"Operation Morning Star aims to take direct control of all Republic worlds. And they will begin with . . . getting rid of those leaders who have a chance to successfully oppose such a move."

She looked to the window and nodded. "You will find out a rather large assembly of Inquisitors have already entered the system and are operating on this very planet to find the other person they believe could stop the coup. A Jedi called Cilarn."

Nesron – The Jedi Command Post

Between the second line of defense and the third, final line the Jedi had build an improvised command post. It was nothing but a tent protected by two powerful energy shields that were projected from humming generators, but it was large enough to house the staff it needed to coordinate a battle like this. If there was actually any hope to coordinate anything in such a raging madness. Now the officers of the Third republic were reporting and and casualties were counted. Lora skywalker and Arek Longstar made it there at the same time and when they arrived they saw the numbers appearing on red holographs. 37 Jedi were dead. About 1400 men had fallen. The Sith had lost about double that amount of troops. Considering Atlas-groups troops were not even counted in the statistic was devastating. Defenders usually should havekilled up to ten times their numbers. But the Sith had made good use of their Imbued shocktroops and vile beasts. The left side of the line had simply broken too early. Among the fallen were the names of great heroes. Master Amnoa had died, Master Conrvin, too.

And a single Zabrak watched the growing list and in the force you could feel his grief and suffering. Master Lediath turned asc the new arrivals entered the command post and nodded to both. “Master Skywalker, Jedi Longstar, not a second to early you made it here. Without you, that would have been much worse.” He assured them and then turned fully to them.

    The Temple Ruins

Vibre nodded to his beasts as they entered the ruins of the temple the Lords had chosen as their gathering place. “Yes, her anger and will to destroy has made her powerful, very powerful indeed.” He agreed with his servant and yet there was no concern in his voice. “Maybe we can defeat the Jedi even if we lose this war. They are turning into us now, bit by bit, soul by soul.” His eyes fell on his own hand. Rumors said Vibre had once been a Jedi himself, but he did not share his biography with anyone, certainly not with the pack.
“The power of her bloodline is legendary. But more than one legend found it´s proper end on the blood-drenched ground of this forsaken planet.” He began to walk again.
“But if we wish to win this war the day will come we will have to hunt her like we would hunt one of our own, do you understand? With caution, power and without mercy.” His eyes finally left his hand and without awaiting an answer (and therefore without tolerating one, probably) he entered the meeting. A wave of his hand signaled Mufassa to spread , but the assembled Sith Lords did not show fear or respect for Vibre´s creations as the others had. They were certain of their own power, too certain probably.
The slayer throned over the scene, his long hilted lightsaber at his side and his dead eye lurking down on the other from beneath his pale mask. He stood on what seemed to be the remains of stairs to a second floor that had collapsed month before when the temple had been bombarded.

A woman with pale skin and gleaming yellow eyes stood opposite to him. Lady Spion, the head of sith Intelligence on this planet. Next to her stood a black armored imbued with a double-bladed lightsaber at his side. General Magog. And in the center of the formation stood a Twi´lek with crimson skin and an aura of power around him. Darth Molochine had obviously taken command after his master, the great Lorka, had fallen to the blade of Skywalker.

    [IMG][IMG]
“Who dared to call back our troops? Who dared to stop our assault, when victory was ours?” he demanded to know from Vibre, as if the elder should know. And Vibre´s smile revealed he actually did, as he pulled the hood over his head and concealed his noseless near-human face. “Someone who claims this victory as his. Someone far more powerful than you, Molochine.” Vibre answered and gave Mufassa a look. The beasts should stay ready. Molchine´s and Vibre´s differences were famous among the Sith. Not few had believed only Lorka´s presence had kept the young ambitious Molochine alive so far. This was about to change probably.

“Then again, not few have greater power than you do, pretender.” Vibre spitted out the words. And Molochine hissed out air, his hand slowly falling on his lightsaber. “Do you challenge me, vibre? Now?” He asked and looked at the beasts.

    Corellia, Plaza

“So you know Cilarn?” The Inquisitor showed a triumphant smile and as he slowly came to his feet he tipped at the communicator in his ear. “Priority target on the grande plaza.” He said to whoever was on the other side of this line. And then he leaped forward, his blade coming down on Urijah and this time he did not hold back or test his enemy. Furiously his blade attacked the Jedi, not to kill him, but to overpower him. And in the force Urijah felt the deadly cold of the Dark Side coming from this Jedi. “Do you have any idea what your friend did? Do you have any idea who that man is?” The Inquisitor shouted over the humming and screaming of the colliding blades.

    Corellia, Above the Planet

The Admiral ignored the reaction of the Sith Lord to the droid and instead offered a seat. “Security measures. I am certain this droid would not save me, if you wanted me dead, my Lord. Yet, he would record the deed and that is probably worse to your goals in this system than your personal undoing, is it?” He smiled and showed the sharp teeth of a Drall. “The idea of a friend of mine who dealt with your kind before. But let us not dwell in paranoia. I have summoned you to discuss matters of great urgency. I have asked you to come here to negotiate the terms of Corellia leaving the Third Republic and therefore leaving the war effort against your kind. Something, I understand, would greatly enhance your chances of actually succeeding with the invasion plans your Dark Lord has, should he win Nesron. Which he seems to do.”

Nesron, the final piece in the puzzle of the Dark Lord to enter Republic space. If Nesron fell, the Gordian Reach was the Sith´s and with that they were aiming right at the heart of Republic support, the Inner Rim. “And I have asked you hear to explore the possibility of you helping us with the greatest obstacle in our effort to remain independent.” He did not say the Jedi, but they probably both knew all too well he meant the Jedi.

A second salvo from the nearby destroyer hit the ship and the impossible happened. The shields held. In a splitsecond decision and an equally fast reaction Callista had redirected just enough energy to drain most of the energy out of this second shot, so the hull could absorb the rest. Now the shields were gone though and not miracle would make them cool down within the next hour. They were sitting ducks.

“Now!” Torben screamed into his comm. And Myrah saw the reaction immediately. An explosion forced the approaching squadron of TX-Wings to split and then a second one appeared to their left and a third one at the side of the nearest Republic Destroyer. The satellites installed to defend the planet were turning on the Jedi fleet and chaos was the imminent result. Chaos that would buy them another second.

“Jump! Jump anywhere, but JUMP!” Torben yelled and looked to Callista. They were waiting for the third and deadly hit or the humming of hyperspace. But whatever would be the next sound they heard would decide their fate and that of the children.

Lila looked after her comrade but decided not to follow. Probably she did reconsider her decision not to report on him, considering what that could do to her career inside the Inquisitorium.

Erian entered the corridor to the quarters and then it happened. One of those strange coincidences that only a Jedi understood, because he understood the sometimes subtle and sometimes not so subtle the force had on all living things. This was one of the less subtle moments, certainly.
“Tython? Why the hell should I go to Tython? We are hunting Sith here, the murders are already solved, so what good is it to go there? Clean up! This is not a mission for one who had been given the force!” The man was blonde, young and his once blue eyes looked pale. An Imbued and from the way he behaved one who had been imbued in a rush and without proper indoctrination. “Master Jedi.” He bowed to Erian and kept on walking, talking to his MonCal co-pilot who shrugged and did not seem too interested. “I wanna meet Fel! The High Inquisitor is coming here! You know they say he got Skywalker blood? Who cares for the dead seers? We got their murder anyway.”

    Coruscant, the War Council

They were only three. The High Inquisitor´s seat was empty as the meeting began and they had been unable to get a connection. The three remaining members of the powerful War Council had called for an emergency meeting without him regardless of that fact. The Head of the Council waved with his hand and before the remaining three members appeared a holography of Nesron.
The head was a man with a human with grey beard and a grim face that showed the man years of war he had survived. His blue eyes pierced the hologram and then he sat back looking first to his left where a Nautolan woman was sitting with a pale greenish skin and a black armor that could have belonged to a Sith had it not carried the insignia of the Protectorate on it´s chest. To the opposite sat a strange alien unlike any the galaxy had ever seen. It had a snakelike body yet an almost human face, also covered by a snakes skin. A hiss came from this third master and the three exchanged looks. The creature was known by the name of Yig and was the Council´s advisor´s on all matter concerning the force.
“If Skywalker survives Nesron we need to take steps to get her growing cult under control. Heresy cannot be tolerated, no matter how useful it is. There is only one Chosen One. THE ONE.” The Head folded his arms and looked to Yig. The snake hissed. But the Nautolan seemed not satisfied. “It is a dangerous game you play, Master Katarn. Should the order ever find out . . . “ The bearded man turned his head. “They will not find out! Not until the war is won! What happens to me once the Sith are defeated is not important, but until then only four people in the galaxy know our secret . . . “
“Five.” Yig threw in and Councilman Katarn looked back at him. “Yes, but our Inquisitors report they have found Cilarn. Soon enough he will be neutralized and then only we remain.”
Silence fell over the meeting. They had paid a high price to keep their secrets and they all agreed in silence. “The High Inquisitor needs to take care of Skywalker. Now we should turn our attention to the situation in the Inner Rim. It looks like we will soon face an invasion by the enemy and I do not allow this council to be distracted from that danger.” He looked to his colleagues again. “Do we agree?” Again silence, then both Council members nodded in agreement. “Yezzz, Skywalker need to die.” Yig finally confirmed, speaking out the truth the head of the Council would have preferred not to be spoken. Then he added, curling himself together in the seat. “Yet if the seers were right there might be another one . . . “

Somewhere in the Gordian Reach, Aboard the Sith Command Ship Vengeance

The sickly yellow eyes stared into the white lines of passing stars as if they could see something in hyperspace nobody else could. Maybe that was indeed the case. The force allowed those who had mastered it to access many abilities, both natural and unnatural.

Darth Tod had not moved, spoken or even recognized the existence of the crew, the ship or their movement; instead he had remained motionless staring into the stars and meditating on something nobody even dared to guess.

His apprentices had stayed nearby, all of them older then him and all of them inferior to his Mastery of the Dark Side. They had waited patiently and yet he had not released them or given them a command. He had simply stared into the stars. Only those attuned to the force had perceived the only action he had taken. A mental command send through space towards the destination of their flight, the planet Nesron. He had ordered the Sith to retreat. And they had obeyed. Nobody dared to question, second-guess or even resisted the Dark Lords commands for many years. Nobody dared to. Had he ordered them all to kill themselves, most of them would have done without hesitation. Yet for all this authority, despite all questions and possible preparation the shadow Hand of the Dark Lord of the Sith could have taken, he remained silent.

Darth Tod just watched the stars and gave himself to the darkest dreams of a Sith.

The shape of his youthful body did not hide the simple fact . . . death was coming to Nesron.

The Force provides. That was what his master always said whenever they had found themselves in a tough situation or needed a problem solved but had no immediate solution. He knew its subtleties and how it could be anything but subtle. This was no different than any other time. Erian stopped walking when the Imbued and his co-pilot had passed by, the Imbued complaining in a way that showed he was undisciplined.

His leg be damned. He'll walk with a limp for the rest of his life if he must. This was an opportunity he could not pass up.

"You," he called out to the blonde, asserting his authority into the Force. "So you think a mission to Tython given to you by the Inquisition is beneath you?" He subtly gestured with a hand, pouring his influence into the Imbued and his co-pilot. His tone brooked no argument from the young man concerning his next words, even as he attempted a mind trick on him. "You will go to Tython and I will be accompanying to oversee your mission."

    Not good.

Not good was the one thing Urijah could think of as the Inquisitor said something about a priority target in the plaza and him knowing Cilarn. Those things didn't go very well together.

I'm in the grande plaza... Urijah thought idly as the streets began to grow busier and busier with people struggling to get out of the plaza. A Jedi duel was not the safest spectator sport.

Urijah raised his head without a word to see the Inquisitor coming down on him with a powerful overhead slash downward aimed right for his head. There was a very dark and powerful aura about him as he leaped through the air. Thinking quickly, Urijah sidestepped to his left to avoid the downward blow, but kept his still down lightsaber where he used to be standing hoping to catch the other Jedi's lightsaber. As the jumping Jedi neared closer to Urijah he silently summoned his secondary saber to his left hand.

“Do you have any idea what your friend did? Do you have any idea who that man is?”The Inquisitor shouted over the humming and screaming of the colliding blades.

" No I do not, but I do know about the murder of three innocent people!" Urijah yelled as the blades collided. The Inquisitor's blow was a powerful one. As experienced in Jar'Kai as Urijah was, blocking a power attack with one hand was still extremely difficult. The force from the blonde Jedi's strike nearly knocked the saber right out of Urijah's hand. Now he was feebly clinging to the bottom of the handle with his thumb and forefinger and his palm barely gripping onto the almost non-existent pommel of his saber.

With his primary lightsaber slowly slipping from his grasp Urijah brought his secondary lightsaber down quickly, igniting it as he swung it down. Doing this Urijah planned to stop it centimeters from the other Jedi's neck, hoping to force him into submission.
