Great episode! And great connection to the rest of the Lego Star Wars Continuity! This is firmly its own universe, and I love it.

Yeah, it was nice to see them tie in the Yoda Chronicles stuff.

Jumping back to the Hondo episode, one other interesting implication that might influence canon is that Hondo, between ESB & ROTJ, has turned his luck around again, as he once again has a crew and isn't on his own like he was prior to ANH on Rebels.

Season Finale was great! Loved where and how they chose to end the episode. And, as always, the Palpatine stuff was great.

There are so many fun nods for those familiar with SW lore, apart from it just being a genuinely fun and well-told story. Hope it continues!

The finale might be even better than the Palpatine museum, which is crazy! They said the words Imperial Palace! They gave it a sense of scale and majesty! They showed the populace's loyalty to HIM!

    Glorious.

Just started this show last week, and saw the finale today. You guys weren't kidding--this show is wonderful! Well-paced, fun, and accessible for all ages. Not to mention some really well-structured storytelling and awesome characters.

It's great to see the Imperial Palace up close, even in Lego form, and to get a taste of what Empire Day looks like on Coruscant.

I'm curious, what was the tie-in from Yoda Chronicles? I never got to watch that series, unfortunately.

Do I need to have seen any prior Lego series before this?

I've seen some, have others but not entirely sure which.

Jek-14 (aka the Maker of Zoah) was the main original character of the Yoda Chronicles & New Yoda Chronicles.

This series stand-alone. You get a cameo by Jek from YC/NYC but you don't need to see those shows to understand his inclusion (I still havem't seen the original YC episodes yet since Cartoon Network was only reairing the NYC episodes for a stretch).

And the other series, Droid Tales, are retellings of the OT by 3PO during a frame story set after ROTJ. Since Freemaker Adventures are set between ESB & ROTJ, it doesn't have a direct connection.

Though, come to think of it, who wants to bet it was Xander who built the Daisy Mae for Ackbar?

Yeah, there's a lot of Lego continuity nods for the long-time fans, but if you weren't aware of them, you wouldn't have even realized you'd missed something. The show is a great stand-alone.

Watched the whole series in about two week and just finished the finale today, I really dug it. While I do quibble that the show isn't quite as funny as the earlier Lego Star Wars stuff (that is basically just constant jokes on top of jokes for 20 minutes straight), there is some truly hilarious bits in here. My favourite being episode 3 with Vader seeing the Naboo Starfighter and having a flashback to himself at the Battle of Naboo. 2nd favourie joke is totally when they're at Palpatine's museum and the holos of Palpatine are saying "Put your credits into the donation box and your journey towards my museum will be complete!" and "I'm afraid you'll find this restroom isn't quite operational."

There is a bit of Legends EU in there, the Wheel being a big one and the slapped together ships being called "Uglies". So since this show has been defined as "canon-adjacent" I'd wager that The Wheel may pop up sometime.

Graballa and R0-GR are pretty fantastic additions to the Lego Star Wars world. Graballa had potential to be like the Hutt in the Clone Wars who got irritating real fast but Graballa in here is just hilarious because he's so scheming and loudly annoyed ("How many times have we lost these kids? I can't count!") Big props to Matt Wood for possibly putting in his best performance in all of his (rather wide-ranging) Star Wars work with R0-GR. He's just such a lovable screw up who keeps having terrible things happen to him and he just rolls with it. I especially loved his relating his autobiography "Chapter 1: Lo, I am created!" and how Rowan made him relive being chopped in half in the Clone Wars numerous times. (Awesome reference in episode 12 when Roawn uses a saber technique he learned by watching Anakin Skywalker chop up R0-GR and the Sith calls it as a Darth Vader technique).

It does get a bit more "serious" than the Lego Star Wars efforts in the past, however, after dozens of Lego Star Wars episodes and considering this is a straight story (neat continuity from episode to episode, by the way) they kind of have to have some heartfelt bits. And, to be honest, I thought they worked. Yes, Rowan basically becoming a Jedi in four eps is a bit ridiculous but I'm willing to let it slide due to the age group it's aimed it. The main character kind of has to learn it and he can learn it fast simply due to the show's vibe. Ezra in Rebels (or even Ashoka in Clone Wars) is a bit of a different story and it can / should / is stretched out longer.

I really like this show and it's a lot of fun, and I also enjoyed each episode sort of had a special guest star popping up. Luke, Leia, and more are all in it but don't seem as shoehorned into it and they don't take over the narrative. But it's a nice evolution of the Star Wars Lego story style by actually making an episodic show that takes a lot of PT era content and fuses it with an OT vibe and some ST stuff in there as well. The Freemakers themselves aren't quite the Ghost, they're more about looking out for their own family which fits. Though it worked well and hope there's a Season 2. Showed a few eps to my nieces and they seemed to enjoy it a lot so it definitely works for different audiences.

Is there some kind of episode guide/timeline for all this LEGO stuff? I need to get back on this bandwagon.

An exact viewing isn't super straight forward since Droid Tales is a saga retelling through a post-ROTJ frame story, but, AFAIK...

-Droid Tales 1 (main story- TPM & AOTC)
    -Yoda Chronicles 1-3
    -Yoda Chronicles Mini 1-3
-Droid Tales 2 (main story- ROTS)
    -Yoda Chronicles Mini 4-5 (roughly)
-Droid Tales 3 (main story- ANH)
    -The New Yoda Chronicles (4-7)
-Yoda Chronicles Mini 6-11 (overlap with ESB and maybe even Freemakers)
-Droid Tales 4 (main story- ESB)
    -The Freemaker Adventures 1-13
-Droid Tales 5 (main story- ROTJ)
    -Droid Tales (frame story)
    -TFA: The Resistance Rises 1-5

However, I wouldn't really recommend breaking up Droid Tales since it's hard to separate out the frame story and we all know the saga film events already. So a simpler order would be:

    -Yoda Chronicles
    -New Yoda Chronicles
    -Freemaker Adventures
    -Droid Tales
    -The Resistance Rises

With the YC shorts spread out somewhere in there.

There were also other shorts prior to these shows but I haven't seen them so I'm not sure if they're Lego canon or not:

    -Revenge of the Brick
    -The Quest For R2-D2
    -Bombad Bounty
    -The Padawan Menace
    -The Empire Strikes Out

This is the origins of Lego canon :) Lots of the fun recurring elements begin here. Padawan Menace is a TCW-era story, and the Empire Strikes Out is directly post ANH.

Watching release order is cool, but they can be enjoyed by themselves fully, too. Although an original character from the two main Yoda Chronicles series does show up in Freemaker.

    Release order:
    -Padawan Menace (stand-alone)
    -Empire Strikes Out (stand-alone)
    -Yoda Chronicles (3 episodes)
    -New Yoda Chronicles (5 episodes)
-Droid Tales (re-telling of Trilogy + an original TCW story and a retelling of a Rebels episode)
    -Freemaker Adventures

Main advantage of release order is seeing origins of some recurring gags. New Yoda Chronicles (OT era) is a direct follow-up to Yoda Chronicles (TCW era).

I'll have to track those down plus the 3 YC episodes and shorts since they didn't reair those.

Looking things over, I think I may have spotted a continuity error, but I haven't seen the short in question to confirm it...
In the final YC short, A Farewell to Arm, which is seemingly set prior to, or immediately after Hoth, where Jek gets his droid arm replaced by a human one on his way to retirement.

Yet didn't he gave the droid arm back in Freemaker, which is definitely set between ESB & ROTJ when he's retired?

No, no, Daisy Mae is Ackbar's hotrod. He has to lovingly & painstakingly assemble it. I like to imagine he built it during the Imperial occupation of Mon Cala. ;)

Speaking of Ackbar check out the finale of Freemaker Adventures if you haven't, Nick. No Daisy Mae, but Ackbar does show up with a sweet escort.
